"My own Nexus 10 died, and the cost of replacing with a new tablet was higher than I would have liked, so I decided to give Swappa a try.
I searched for the exact configuration of my old tablet, found it - and was pleasantly surprised to find one which was already unlocked and with a custom ROM installed. The price was right (about 70% less than buying new) so I bought it. Seller was also great at communicating the status.
Received it yesterday (almost fully charged), charged it, logged in, installed my custom ROM, downloaded my backup and it was as if my original N10 had never died.
All in all, a great experience."
"Fast shipping. And the iPad was as described. Great condition. "
"This is my second purchase and I'm impressed. I've also recommended a co-worker who shares the same sentiments about his purchase... I'll forever use Swappa, keep it up guys! "
"I bought a refurbished phone and it arrived as expected. The fact that Swappa accepts PayPal is a bonus. "
"First time purchaser, but am so very pleased with the product and the speed of the delivery! I would highly recommend Swappa and this Seller!"
"Great platform for shopping/purchasing, I have purchased 4 phones on Swappa. However, 3 out of 4 purchases have had issues where the phone did not meet the agreed upon description or terms of sale. These issues could have been detected by some simple listing quality checks, but Swappa does not seem to implement them. Swappa does not do much on the support end after purchase other than encourage Buyers/Sellers to work to an acceptable resolution or utilize PayPal dispute resolution if it can not be solved amicably. For this "service" you pay $10 out of the sale price to Swappa.
My detailed experiences are explained below, but before buying a device on Swappa, I would suggest that you ask for pictures of the model number sticker or screenshot (on the phone, not the box) as well as pictures of the entact moisture indicator(s) before purchasing. The seller can blur out the ESN/IMEI/MEID in the picture before sale, but should provide that to you after you purchase and before shipping.
- First phone arrived and was the incorrect model number (it was listed as a Triband Galaxy S4 "T" version but what arrived was not a Triband phone, no "T" on model number). I opted to keep the phone but had to work with seller who fortunately gave me a partial refund to reflect the difference in price between models and some "good faith". This could have been detected by requiring a picture or screenshot of the Model # or a bump against the ESN by Swappa.
- Second phone arrived and was the wrong phone. The seller had posted the phone based on the ESN on the box which said it was a Sprint Galaxy S4. However, the phone in the box was actually a Verizon Galaxy S4. Swappa does not verify the ESN on the phone, just that whatever ESN the seller types in is valid and clean. I returned the phone, as I could not activate it on my network, but was stiffed out of the return shipping even though the terms of sale clearly stated that the seller was responsible for return shipping if the phone was not able to be activated. I had to work through the PayPal dispute process on this one, which does not guarantee that they will follow the Swappa terms of sale. Swappa indicated that my only recourse was to provide negative Swappa feedback on the Seller, but this only really helps Swappa by keeping bad sellers out of their store, and it doesn't prevent the Seller from opening a new account. It does nothing for the Buyer aside from giving them space to vent. Again, this could have been prevented by requiring a picture of the model number/ESN on the phone by Swappa.
- Third phone arrived exactly as described (yahoo!)
- Fourth phone arrived in described condition but with a missing Moisture Indicator Sticker which is against the Swappa terms of sale. Once again, Swappa left me to resolve this with the Seller with little to no suggestions or enforcement of their terms of sale Knowing how I got stiffed on the return last time and after testing/inspecting as many features of the phone as possible, I opted to keep it, and again had to negotiate with the seller for a partial refund. If this is a requirement for sale, it should be a required picture for listing on Swappa.

"This is my 7th sale and I've purchased a number of phones as well. I will never go back to buying new phones."
"This was a great experience to purchase a New iphone 6s for my daughter. I will definitely use this site again to purchase an older model phone. Great price, fast shipping. Better than expected. "
"At first I was hesitant about buying a used iPhone since I had heard about people getting ripped: either they don't receive their items and the customer service sucked or their device started to become a bust weeks after purchase. I researched for months on different sites and took my time...and bought my first iPhone from Swappa. It was fantastic! The seller was amazing, and I got my phone in condition noted. And I found swappa to be reliable. I am now back looking for a iPhone 7 gift, and a MacBook Air for my self! "
"There should be a better system in place for when sellers never mail a device out to the buyer. The seller never sent me the phone, admitted it to Swappa, yet I'm still sitting here with an extra 700+ charge on the credit card for a phone that never even got to the shipping stage. No checks and balances for these issues. Looks like I have to find a way to pay now to avoid interest on my credit card. Complete BS!!!!!

"I got an iphone 7 a couple weeks after the iphone 8 came out. The phone was listed as "good" but it was in very good shape and included the factory charger and cable, for a good price. Swappa did a nice job of removing the sketchiness, uncertainty, and generally chaotic experience that comes with buying on ebay or amazon, and their price vs quality is better than gazelle (where I've previously bought a phone that was at a worse price in worse condition with aftermarket accessories, so swappa was better in all aspects).
Since the sellers are independents on Swappa, it's worth mentioning who I bought it from - "Consumer Electronics". Nice job."
"I have checked phone from eBay for a while but decided to buy in swappa. eBay has many good deals but lots of them are not reliable like stolen or blacklisted. I believe swappa provide more reliable phones than eBay and still this phone works well. I hope this doesn’t have any issue.
I put 5 star because this phone has no problem until now. "
"Made the purchase quick and paid it at the moment. Was shipped hours later and received a few days after. All as promised. Thank You!"
"I bought new phones for my wife and I. I tend to buy one generation back in phones to both save money and ensure I'm not getting a buggy device, or worse yet, a fire bomb. :-) The double review system on similar sites work ok, but Swappa goes above and beyond to ensure that you are getting what you are paying for and has certain requirements of sellers to ensure as much. The price graphs of the phones for sale are helpful too. Overall, it is a great experience buying on Swappa."
"I had lots of tech to choose from. I like options. "
