Update: CC Billing Info - EMS/ONLIN COMP HRDWR/S (Services and Merchandise)

I went online with my cc company and checked account activity. PayTo listed above.
TechSavings (EMS Computing) charged my account on 09/16. This was the same day the billing address was corrected during a phone call that miracuously got through. My order shipped 09/23 and is arriving today (09/28).

DO NOT ORDER FROM TechSavings or EMS Computing!!!!!!!!

In September, 2002, I had ordered a monitor from techSavings and although a few bumbs resulted in the order processing and shipment, I was pleased. I placed my current order for two Logitech mx300 mice on the 15th. I was told the order would ship from the Miami warehouse by the 17th when I managed to get through on the 800 number the morning of the 16th to correct a shipping address discrepancy. The order status stayed in "Processing" for a week. There probably is no Miami warehouse. I received notice on the 23rd the order was shipping - out of DALLAS, TX. This company has no character. They rarely respond to emails - and not in a timely fashion *if* they do. I think they are very dishonest - perhaps not in terms of being outright thieves but when their lips are moving, you know they are lying to you!

DO NOT ORDER FROM TECHSAVING! Their web site stated there were 2390, yes 2390 Logitech MX-300 mice in stock. Those numbers never change!!! They had ZERO in stock!

"PLEASE--I did not realize this company was using credit cards to pay for PAST orders-no wonder they are charging your card right away!?!?!?

PLEASE CALL YOUR CREDIT CARD COMPANY AND DISPUTE CHARGES.

What I did was dispute and then print out some of these pages of complaints to go with the dispute-I believe my cc company will definately be looking into techsavings. This is about as dishonest as it gets, and I can be fairly certain it is illegal as well. CALL CALL CALL.....

"Buyer Beware! I placed an order with this company on the 8th of Jan. 2002 for a Cisco PIX501 that showed 300 in stock. On the 9th the company sent an email stating that the item was discontinued. My credit card was charged on the 9th by another company EMSComputers. Techsavings gave my credit card info to EMSComputers it was charged and no product was ever going to be sent. The phone numbers dont work for ether company and they will not do anything about it. If you dont want to get ripped off dont use ether company."

"I absolutely hate how this company does business. I ordered a $128 case from them, and decided to order from another company because it was on backorder. I cancelled the order and found a $128 charge on my credit card from enpc.com Where did this come from? They did not even ship the item out and yet they have the nerve to bill me anyway. What a terrible way of doing business. This should be illegal. ANyway, I went to cancel the order and i receive an email confirming my cancellation. This is good, but the charge is still there. I have emailed them about this a week ago and still haven't received a reply. I have also tried calling but there is no way to reach them by phone seeing how they are upgrading their phone system?! What kind of business is this?! This is unacceptable and I will NEVER NEVER do business with them again.

My credit card has finally been credited 1 MONTH AND 5 EMAILS, 5 PHONE CALLS LATER. You have to be stern with this company. "DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!

The worst and most unprofessional online purchase experience I have ever had. It would not surprise me if this was a single office in the back of a raggedy old warehouse.

History of my purchase:
Scanned for best prices on pricescan.com and saw techsavings won on three of my items. I purchased them on Wed morning. Friday morning I was getting knocks on my door from the FedEx man with items I purchased from other vendors. Still no word from TechSavings.

I attemtped 5 emails and numerous phone calls to this company and all were met with no answer or an answering machine message saying their phone service was being upgraded and wouldn't be working until Feb 1st. What kind of business can go without phone service for two weeks?

The last chapter to this debacle is the fact that I emailed them an order to cancel my order. I then received an email canceling my order (3 hours later), then one hour later I received an email where my card had been billed despite my order being cancelled. To make this perfectly clear I will put it in order below:

1. My order is verified "Canceled" via email from TechSavings.com.
2. One hour later my card is charged over $1000 for my order regardless of the cancellation.

I will post an update later on the resolution.

My advice, unless you just want to come back to this site to write up one of these reports, spend the extra ten bucks on whatever it is you are buying and get it from a legit reseller.

This company is a joke.

Well...after telling me that my
order was ready to ship and would
be shipped tomorrow, I received an
email saying that my card was no
longer in stock and could not be
back ordered, and that a credit had been issued on my card. Well I just checked stock on my card and it shows 105 units on their web site. I called my credit card company and no credit has been issued as of yet, so I guess I have that nightmare to go through.
Don't order from these people. They are practiced liars and they do so to cover their incompetence. They probably operate from the back room of a strip club somewhere.

I received another email from them
today saying that my order was "at the warehouse and ready to ship and would PROBABLY ship on Wednesday the 22nd." This seems like a standard reply since I was told on Wednesday of last week that my order would for sure ship the following Friday. I've also noticed where other people have been given the same story. I told them that if I didn't have a tracking number by Wednesday P.M., that I would cancel my order and go through all that garbage.

Well, I ordered a Jaton video card from these guys on 1/11/03. 0n 1/13/03 my card was debited for it. 1/14/03 I emailed customer service and actually received a reply ("canned" as it was) assuring me that my card would ship within 48 hours. Here it is 48 hours later and it still has not shipped according to their status page and my lack of any sort of email with a tracking number as promised. I ordered parts from Motherboards.com, NewEgg.com, and EVEN Accubyte for this new build. They're all right here waiting on TechSavings. I tried to call their 800 number and their phone system is "being upgraded" i.e. "No joy here buddy."
I emailed Ron Cooke the "customer service" rep that emailed me before, early this morning with no response today. I really wish I had read the reviews before. I haven't found a good one yet. Live and learn I guess.

This is to the person above me: Call them!! I know the phone is always busy, and you may wait a really long time on hold...but if you want your part, you need to talk to a human being. Their orders go to warehouses that are OUT OF STOCK!! I talked to a rep, you know what he said? "I'm glad you called. If you didn't, you probably would have never gotten the case." Reassuring.

Being my first experience of buying online, Googlegear.com and Newegg.com were absolutely phenomenal. However, techsavings.com dropped the ball. When I ordered my Antec SX835II, they immediately charged my credit card, despite their policy “we will not charge you until your order ships out.” I didn’t even get an e-mail confirming I paid them (glad I printed out the invoice). I ordered it last Tuesday, the 14th, a week ago. Well, I figured, I’ll wait. My other orders from QBitpc.com and Microtechscomputers.com were a bit late, so let’s give these guys a chance. Come Thursday, nothing. I e-mailed EVERY e-mail they had, and got one reply from ****@****. They said there was a problem with the holidays (two weeks after Christmas?) and my order would ship Monday or Tuesday of the next week (I was replied by Katie O.).

It was now Monday, the 13th, and nothing. So I try and call their 1-800 number…I stay on hold for 1 hour until I left a message. I called again today, Tuesday the 14th, and after 25 minutes, I get a representative named Dave R. He informs me that my order was out of stock in their Texas warehouse, said that he was glad I called, and changed it to California, where he said they had plenty. He said that I should receive a tracking number soon and I should get my case within the week. Nice guy. Horrible phone number. Horrible communication.

I now search pricewatch.com for my same case, from another company c-source.com, and it is $2 more. I looked at their reviews….7.81 compared to this lousy 3.57. For two bucks more, I would save this aggravation and get my case along with all my other parts so I can put together my new computer before it goes out of date.

If you need something quick, go someplace else. If you are willing to gruel through the wait and wait, and manage to call them and get your order from a warehouse that has what you want (by the way, I used their little “Stock Check” and it said they had 700…), then go for it, because their prices are rock-bottom (but I now found another site that’s two dollars more, had I known about this, techsavings.com would have never crossed my mind). This is my lesson to research a company before I buy from them. And sadly, if you are reading this because of a late order, I feel your pain. You’re in for a long, long wait.

** By the way, that guy before me is bluffing. Techsavings.com is NOT part of the BBB, and therefore cannot be complained against. I know, I'm defending them...but if they don't, who will?

"Ordered the Logitech Z560 speakers on Sunday the 10th, then decided that night that instead I wanted to change my order to the Altec Lansing 641 speakers so I sent them an email requesting to do this. I never got any response so I tried calling them and the # either gave a busy signal or "the number you have reached is unavailable or no longer in service message". I then decided to call my credit card company and tell them to refuse any charge from them. Later that day I got an email back from somebody saying they couldn't process my order because my credit card was declined. So then I replied to just cancel my order.

The next day, feeling good about everything as they hadn't charged my credit card I placed the order from MicroPro.com instead. All is well until today I got an email back from a Katie O'Connell from ENPC.COM(!) saying my order has processed and will be shipping soon. Checked my credit card online and sure enough, a $138.75 charge from ENPC.COM! Argh, so I'm guessing ENPC.com is the same company then!? Well anyway I immediately replied to her saying this should NOT have happened because my cc was declined and I sent a notice of cancellation the day before. Well I haven't heard anything back and have been calling them throughout the day and still either get a busy signal or "out of service" message on their 800 number. Tried the other # on their website and it's always busy too.

Just now I placed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Central Florida and also disputed the charge with my credit card company. I have a bad feeling they will end up shipping the speakers that I don't want so I'll hafta either sell them on ebay or pay the large shipping charge to send them back. NEVER EVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! There is no reason their 800 # should be busy all day, unless of course they are working out of somebody's house or something which I wouldn't doubt. And I don't understand how 1 day they say they can't process my credit card, then all of a sudden the next day I'm charged. Do they just like keep trying all day until it goes through or something? Anyway, I'm furious and this company suX!

***Update: 1/15/03***

Checked my credit card online today and there is now a second charge from EMS Computing for $138.75! I called my credit card company and they verified that they had charged me twice and said their dispute department will work on this and it could take a few months! I have again tried calling them on both phone #'s and both still give busy signals every time. Sent them another email today demanding that they refund my card the total of both $277.50 within 3 days. God this sux especially because I sent in a payment to pay my credit card off for the first time in 6 years and now I have this sh*t sitting on there!

***Update: 2/12/03***

I meant to update this sooner but forgot about it. I ended up trying to call them more and even fax them to no avail. After many heated emails back and forth I got an email stating my order had been cancelled. The next day I had another charge for around $22 from them show up on my credit card! This would make the third charge for an item that I cancelled and had never even started to ship to me. So I emailed them again asking what the deal was and why was I double charged to begin with and they sent me a reply saying that they didn't double charge me, that they only charged me $156, but that didn't even make sense because the speakers I ordered were $138.75 after shipping. They further stated it was my credit card company that made the mistake so I talked to them about it a few times and those charges are in dispute. Well not a week later a 4th charge of about $22 showed up on my credit card, so at that point I had over $320 in charges on my credit card for a cancelled item that I had even received a confirmation email saying it had been cancelled! I fought some more and finally a couple weeks ago they refunded me for one of the $138.75 charges and one of the $22 charges as they contend the duplicate charges are not their fault. So at this point now I have $161.75 in duplicate charges still on my credit card but they are in dispute with my cc company. This was the absolute worst online company I have ever dealt with and I wouldn't wish the madness I have been through with them on anyone. Stay away at all costs, it's not worth the hassle!

"Never again will I order from this company. First of all, I ordered the speakers, and a soundcard on a saturday, by wednesday I had no response that the order was shipped. The rep I talked to told me I had to upgrade to second day, in order to get it before christmas. Which I was charged for, two days came and went, still no confirmation. The guy tried hanging up on me twice that day, finally he agreeded to refund the shipping charges. 1/6/03 came and I got a notice from the bank, that I had overdrawn. Looking at my transactions, they charged me again, and as far as this refund of shipping goes, I havent seen that either. I filed a dispute against this company with my credit card company, I've left many messages for them, and never get anywhere, they never return calls, and if you are lucky to get a hold of somone, they just put you on hold, or "accidently disconnect you" I wouldnt tell my worst enemy to order from this company. Tech savings my ass. This orders costed me more then I can count. The most bazzar thing, is the credit card charges, i've had four of them so far, and the phone number they're billed from changes everytime, when you call them, its for a different company completely. "

"my little brother got a 'new' computer for christmas, but it only had an 8mb video card in it. so i went to best buy, where they had a 32 meg card advertised for $50 bucks minus a $ mail in rebate. best buy was totally out. I wanted him to have the thing before new years, as i had to get going and he didnt know how to install it. i found techsavings on pricewatch, and gave them a call, because ocala is only about an hour away from me. it took a little while to get a rep on the phone, and he informed me that they didnt have a retail store, but they could upgrade the shipping and have it for me at my door the next day. the kid i talked to even found me a 64 meg card for less than the 32meg card i had been looking at. their express shipping rates are very cheap compared to some other sites i looked at - after shipping, it came to just shy of $60 bucks, which is what i would have paid for a 32meg card at a local store. I got kinda worried the next day when fedex hadn't been there by 4:00, but I ran to the store for pizza, and the card was waiting when i got back. I installed it, it worked perfectly, and my mom says she hasn't pulled him off of warcraft since. I was really impressed with the service, although i can see how if there had been a problem, a 20 minutes wait on the phone would get aggrivating. all in all, a very good experience. will try them again in the future, should i ever need something in a hurry. would love to see them open up a retail storefront, though."

"Horrible customer service, I waited on the phone for more than 30 minutes. I figured i'd give them the benefit of the doubt but honestly my order has not shipped after several days of processing. Furthermore they have the gall to charge your credit card before a product is even shipped. These people should be put out of business. Please do not buy from these people. "
