"I placed an order with Techsavings.com on 11/17/02 for a LOGITECH CORDLESS ELITE DUO BLK KYBD AND MOUSE USB because they had the lowest price and I am always willing to give a company I have not done business with before a chance to get my business. Three days later when I had not received any response to my order I called them on the phone. After 17 minutes on hold, I spoke to their representative who assured me that my order would be shipped that day. The next day when I still had not received an order confirmation I called again and spoke to the same person who said he was sorry that my order had still not been shipped. This time he told me he had no idea why it had not been shipped and could not tell me when it would be. I cancelled my order at this point. Of course they immediately charged my credit card when I placed the order and after a month and a half of trying to settle this with Techsavings and my credit card company, today 01/02/03 Tech savings has claimed to have finally issued a credit. I will believe it when my credit card company tells me they have received the credit to my account. I ended up placing my order with Googlegear for $2.50 more and received it three days later. I personally will never again attempt to do business with Techsavings. The aggravation they have caused me was not worth the $2.50 I would have saved if they had ever shipped my order."
"Bought an ANTEC 1080 case and power supply from them, said they had over 700 in stock. Took forever to them to process order and I got my tracking number the day I recieved my package. Good price, sketchy transactions."
"This company is okay however they could do a better job on their customer service. I ordered a Samsung SyncMaster 152T from this company on December 18th and did not receive a shipping notification until December 23rd and when I called the toll free number it took so long before you can get a live person on the other end of the line. Finally, a customer service rep got on the phone and it felt like I was inconveniencing him for calling and inquiring about the order. I will only order again from this company if they improved on the way they handle customers on the phone. Got my LCD monitor yesterday."
"Update: 01-03-03 Recieved my package. All was good. I agree with many comments here about the customer service being bad. I never did get any confirmation from the company in my email. I got lucky this time. I love my Antec 3700 case, it is the best I have ever had. Good luck to all.
Update: 12-31-02 Logged onto techsavings website to check status of my order. Sure enough there was a tracking number and it did indeed ship from Illinois on the day stated by Nick. We will see what shape it is in when it gets here.
Ordered an Antec Case on 26 Dec before reading reviews here (oops). Thought maybe I would just drive to the store to get my case since Ocala is just 2 hours away. I called and talked to Nick who said it was shipping from a warehouse elsewhere and he would call me back in an hour with additional info. Just over an hour later Nick called back and said that my case was shipping from Illinois today. Hopefully this is true. I will update as to the progress."
"(NOTICE HOW THIS MERCHANT NEVER DEFENDS ITSELF IN THIS FORUM? BAD SIGN)
TechSavings.com sucks!!! On December 6th I ordered the Altec 641 speaker set from them because Pricewatch.com listed them as the merchant with the lowest price. The site provided me with an inventory count of the item I ordered. I don't remember the exact number of units in stock, but it was a 3 digit number.
Several days went by, my credit card was charged, but according to the sites order status, my speakers were not shipped.
On 12/11, I sent the following e-mail:
"When I checked on my order, the site said it wasn't shipped. When I ordered the product five days ago, the site claimed to have the item in stock. My credit card was immediately charged on 12/6 but the item hasn't even left the facility yet. What gives? If there is a problem, kindly let me know."
On 12/12, they replied:
"I sincerely apologize, these speakers are currently on back order until 12/18. It looks like we may have had a small number of these in stock when your order was processed because our system did not send out a back order notification. Please let us know if you would like to cancel this order or keep it active and we will be glad to take care of anything for you ASAP. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email me.
Sincerely,
Wade"
To which I replied on 12/12:
"I need them by 12/24. If that's a possibility, then it's OK. If not, again, let me know. Also, to reiterate, I NEED them by 12/24, not "would like" them by 12/24."
No reply, but on 12/14, I receive this out of the clear blue:
"Greetings from TechSavings! We're writing you to confirm that your order has been cancelled as per your request."
To which I reply on 12/15:
"Uh, I don't believe I cancelled this order...
ANYWAY, I placed the order again...Please do not cancel this order and please make certain I am not billed twice."
Uh, where in my e-mail did I cancel the order? Will someone tell me, because I can't find where, and I have a pretty good handle on the English language.
TechSavings' reply on 12/17:
"Dear Sir,
A credit was initiated by Wade when you spoke to him on the telephone. Your card will be credited for the first purchase shortly. We allow credits to amass for up to 3 days, this way we have more than just a small handful to perform. We will credit you shortly. If I may assist you in any other way, please feel free to email me back at your earliest convenience. Thank you for contacting TechSavings! We look forward to serving you again.
Chris"
Ok, great, so here it is 11 days after I initially ordered this product, I'm already pissed about the order being cancelled, now I have to hear that the order was cancelled when I spoke to "Wade" on the phone? What? I only e-mailed Wade (albeit indirectly-he was the one who received it in customer service), and - as you can see - I never asked to cancel it.
It is now December 26th and there is finally some progress - I just logged onto the site a few minutes ago, and the order was finally shipped today and is due the 30th of December! Not bad! That will be 24 DAYS after TechSavings charged my credit card, 19 DAYS after the item was promised to me, and a mere 6 DAYS after I told them I NEEDED it by...
But just as the sun peeks from the horizon, TechSavings STILL HAS NOT ISSUED A CREDIT FROM MY INITIAL ORDER THEY CANCELLED!
So, I write:
"Chris, you wrote to me on 12/17, insisting that I would be credited within 3 business days for order # 00T5-3458277-XXXXXXX, placed on 12/6 (order cancelled, never shipped). It is now 12/26 and my account has not been credited. Would you please see that I am credited promptly?
Thank You"
This is what I expect to happen now:
1) I'll get the run-around about the credit card and will have to dispute the charge via my credit card company.
2) My speakers will finally arrive. They will have been opened or damaged, or just not what I ordered at all.
I commend TechSavings for their beautiful site and great selection; and for they polite manner in which they responded to my e-mails, but other than that, they completely suck dirty ass. This makes no sense at all - to handle customers this way. I have long since PAID for a product that I was promised to me a while ago. I then PAID for it again after THEY screwed up and blah, blah, blah ...
I won't order from this place again-even if hell does freeze over. If you are given a choice to either 1)Order from Techsavings.com; or, 2)Have sex with your grandmothers rotting corpse; please choose 2 because you'd regret 1 even more in the long run.
I'll keep you posted on the refund that I expect to post in March 2003...

1/8 Update: I received an e-mail from TechSavings on 1/3, informing me that I was issued a credit. Well, it's 5 days later and my credit card company has no record of it.
Damn slow-ass fiber optics...
p.s. Fuck TechSavings.com

"I am very pleased with this seller. I bought the Logitech Z-560 speakers and within three days UPS was knocking on my door with the speakers.
I would definetely buy from them again and I would recommend them to all!!"
" I ordered computer case on 12/15/02. Received it on 12/24/02 in a brand new condition.
Overall I am satisfied with this reseller but the credit card was charged immediately and the case shipped on the 5th business day. So slow shipping and long on-hold time waiting for CSR are the weak points."
"Tech Savings is a fraud. I ordered
a set of speakers and provided the
necessary credit card information.
They drained funds from that credit
card account very quickly. The
speakers never shipped. After
calling them and emailing them I
realized that they are scam artists.
I asked for a refund, but no refund
was ever issued to my credit card.
----Update on Scam Artists------
These con-artists refunded my
credit card after several weeks
of non-action. To make sure they
don't rip me off by billing me
again for non-delivered goods,
I cancelled my credit card and
had the card company issue me
a new card. "
"I was very dissapointed in this business. I order a lot of things online, and this has to be the worst business I have ever seen. 1. The told me my cc shipping and billing addresses didn't match, well, they do. 2. They charged my cc anyway before they shipped. 3. I cancelled the order and they charged my account 2 hours after they sent me the confirmation email about the cancellation.
Stay away from them."
"I order a component which I was charged for immediately. According totheir website the order would ship the same day. It was critical for me that order shipped immediately. Well the order finally shipped 3.5 business days later for an item that was in-stock. Repeated attempts to contact TechSavings were in vain. The phone number is always busy and they don't respond to email requests. I have yet to receive the order and am wondering whether or not it will be what I paid for. I cannot recommned this company to anyone else, nor would I ever buy from them again."
"Placed an order for a slide scanner (web and sales rep both stated item was in stock). The item was supposed to ship on 11-DEC, however when calling today I was informed the item was no longer in stock.
As far as I can tell, the item never was in stock.
"
"I placed an online order with Tech Savings on November 16. The item was backordered, but I received no notification. I had
to call customer service to find out about the back order. The order shipped on November 22. I received shipping
notification on November 25. The item arrived in excellent condition on November 26.
I opened the box to check the item only to find that a critical feature was missing. The part number implied that the
feature was present. The manufacturer's website even lists the misleading part number as well. The item was a Belkin UPS;
part number F6C325-SER. This part number implies that the UPS has a serial port. I opened the box to verify this only to
find it does not have a serial port. I promptly contacted Tech Savings to try to exchange the item for a different unit. I
applied for an RMA on December 9, and the RMA was denied on December 11 because the manufacturer does not "accept
open/non-defective returns". This is partially my fault as I should have called a sales rep.
I could have lied and told Tech Savings that the item was defective, and maybe they would have issued an RMA. Instead, I
tried to rely on honesty, and the hope that they would exchange the item out. I now see the error in my logic.
I cannot recommend Tech Savings as a good online merchant due to this poor experience.
Buy elsewhere."
"I had checked price's & this company had the best price & shipping was stated up front & it was very reasonable.I wanted a digtal camera for my daughter for Christmas who live's in Texas. I saved over a hundred dollar's ordering from this company for what one would have cost me here in Oregon at a discount store.I read the comment's on this company as I did other company's & with their price & good feed back I decided to order though I truthly didn't want to order over the web, but they said they were secure.
As soon as I had ordered I received a very nice e-mail stating all information & invoice #.On 12-3-o2 I received a very nice e-mail stating since the billing address was differant than shipping I needed to call my credit card company to verfy that this was what I wanted they said they were sorry for having to do this but was for my safty.I really appericated this.On 12-4-02 I called the credit card co. got that taken care of then called TechSaving's talked to a super nice & helpfull lady told her & on Friday 12-6-02 my daughter had her camera!!!! I also received a e-mail stating the product had been sent & they also sent me all the UPS shipping information. I can not say enough nice thing's about this company & their people.I will alwa's do business with them!! Sherry O. Oregon"
"Bought a case & motherboard in 2 separate orders on the same day. Good prices & selection, but very slow on the processing. Case arrived 12 days after order (took 4 days to pass it off to UPS, then another 7 for UPS to drive it across the country). Case arrived in retail box with shipping sticker, so there wasn't much processing involved, don't know what took so long."
"After reading all the bad posts here, I was somewhat hesitant to order. However, their price on the speakers (Altec 251) was almost $10 less than everyone else. I placed the order on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and received the item exactly one week later. The items were as advertised (new in box) and work flawlessly. I'm not sure if I was lucky or not, but I'm very happy with my purchase. Your mileage may vary..."
