"I ordered a textbook a week before my class started and received it two days after ordering. The textbook was a good price too.

"The online bookstore's platform and features are easy to use thus making it user friendly. It provides a safe means for attaining the right books and a means for returns and sale of used books. It does not get better than this."
"Ordering was simple! Great!"
"Ordered two books 10 days ago. Got confirmation email, a few days later, cancelled order, simply saying the books were not in stock. Both books are still listed as of today on their site."
"This company does not HAVE books. They are only the middle-man. Their seller Ergotbooks is awful!"
"I ordered A writers reference for my English class. $65.00 for the used addition. I later found out Amazon sells it BRAND NEW for the same price. Anyhow, my book arrived smelling like a chain smoker! The pages were also discolored from cigarette smoke! It’s was DISGUSTING! I am not a smoker. This thing made me gag! I wrapped in in a bag, it was so nasty. I didn’t want to touch it. I emailed Textbookx and they were incredibly UNHELPFUL with doing a return. I ultimately had to google search for a return label. I returned it, and I’m hoping they will return the money to my student account. I will never order from them again. "
"So on September 10 I had purchased 4 Blick gift cards from textbookx. Only 3 out of those 4 worked. The $25 dollar one did not. When I tried using the code it said that there were no funds in the gift card. I literally called textbookx 10 times until they finally answered my call. I told them about the gift card and they said that they will look into it and see what is wrong with it and that they would call me that same day or the next day. The next day came and I called them because I had still not received a call from them. I told them again what was going on with the gift card and they said that they will talk to blick and see why it has no money in it and that they would call me back (this was on Friday). Today I received an email saying that they couldn’t do anything about the gift card because the gift card was declined. I called textbookx right away and the customer representative told me that they can’t refund me my money and that I should call blick to see if they will give me a refund. So I called blick and Blick told me that they can’t do anything about it because the gift card code was already used so that I can’t get a refund. I told the customer representative that I didn’t used the code and that textbookx had send me a used code. She also told me that the gift code was purchased on September 5 and it was used on September 6. I purchased my gift codes on September 10 and on that same day I tried using the gift code but I couldn’t because textbookx send me a code that Was already used by someone else! And now they don’t want to refund me my money! Textbookx this is your mistake! Blick's job was to send you the gift codes and your job is to send them to the students the buyers. So you made the mistake of sending the same code to two buyers! And now because of your mistake I can’t get a refund! Textbookx they are thieves! They just want your money! Never am I ever buying from textbookx ever again!"
"My experience has always been great!!"
"I ordered a book on July 15. I received a textbook with the incorrect ISBN. It was also received unsealed and torn. I returned the book via USPS and received confirmation that it was received by Textbookx on August 5. On August 9, they claimed they could not find the return even though all documentation was provided in the package. On August 11, I provided the tracking number as requested and as of today I have still received no correspondence from them. Needless to say this was a $200 textbook that I paid $10 to have shipped to me, and another $10 to ship it back to them. I will never order from this company and would advise other buyers to beware."
"I received a book that contained highlights and rigged corners for the summer session. When I returned the book after hardly using it, it was returned to me and I had to pay for a new book. This is very unfair to have the students pay to replenish textbookx stock. I emailed them and they did not agree to take the book back. This is really unfair and a way to rip off students even more.
Also, the money was withdrawn from my account without my being informed.
I will now avoid using this service and should have read the other entries before beginning to use them for school!!!"
"Terrible service I returned a rental and they told me I need to pay full price for my book because it’s damaged. Meanwhile the book was in the same condition as I got it in. On top of that they said they’ll ship me the book back to take pictures and prove to them but I never received that shipment. Terrible service and I still haven’t gotten my money back."
"I was recently charged a late fee for returning my textbook late (which is not why I am complaining). As I explained to the representative that I never received any instruction on how to return my textbook, and as I told her I am a college student who was unable to access my campus mailbox over break (where they sent my return label), she provided no customer service and merely told me how irresponsible I was for not returning the book on time and all of the action I could have taken to be more responsible. I fully understand the book was returned late; however, she provided no guidance and only talked down on me the entire conversation. When I asked to speak to someone else due to her harsh tone and completely unprofessional words, she wouldn’t allow me to be transferred. I am BAFFLED at how individuals like these somehow land a job in customer service. I’ve completed one semester at business school and this woman would be the prime example of who you would not want representing your company! She was completely unwilling to help find a solution, and spoke to me as though I was not a human being. Complete abuse of power. I will NEVER buy from this company again."
"Ordered a used lab book through this company that I needed for a class (this was the cheapest option, and honestly writing in books does not bother me). The book arrived, was in pretty good condition for being used, however did have some writing in it. Classes start and that's when I realize there is no valid online access code, great. So I end up going online and paying triple the cost of the book to buy the online code directly from the book's site. The semester comes and goes and the textbook sits on my entryway table and was not picked up the entire semester. Everything I had needed was included in the online site I had purchased the code for. The end of the semester comes and it's time to return the book. I printed the return label and shipped the book back out with plenty of time to arrive prior to the due date. The book is received on their end and nearly 2 weeks later I get an email stating my return is not accepted due to "damage" and "missing supplements", no further details--all this in a book that had not been touched or opened since purchase.
Called customer service to be placed on hold SEVERAL times so the rep could consult with her "manager", all of which I could hear him whispering to her in the background informing her to repeat the same statement to me over and over again. I was informed the item is being sent back to me and I will be charged the buyout price due to the damage. When disputing this over the phone I was told I would get the book back, could then take pictures of the "damage" and attach them in a dispute email back to the company. I then questioned what exactly the damage was, reiterating that it was a USED book with NO code. They were unable to tell me what was being considered damaged and missing. I then questioned how I was supposed to take photos and dispute the damage if I didn't take pictures of the book of how I received it, since I've never had such horrible service through a textbook site and been given so much grief about a return. All the rep kept repeating to me was to submit photos and email a dispute after I get the book back.
I will inform everyone I know how unprofessional textbookx's customer service is and advise everyone to stay FAR AWAY from this company."
"We ordered a hard to find professional reference book from TextbookX with rush shipping. TextbookX placed the order with a company, supposedly in Texas but actually in East India that is cited on the internet for not shipping books. The book was never received and there was no tracking or proof that it had been shipped. TextbookX refused to take immediate action, citing their "procedures."
If you are unlucky enough to have problems with a TextbookX order, your best recourse is to go directly to your credit card company and file a claim. That is what we did."
"I ordered my textbook three weeks before the start of my class, as the website states "it usually takes 2-6 business days to ship." 3 weeks after my order date, I call customer service only to be told no one has processed my order, therefore it could not be shipped. Fine, one mistake is not a big deal. I call again 5 days later regarding if the textbook was processed, shipped or when I should expect its delivery. The book was processed, but not shipped and I was informed by their representative it will be shipped by September 1st. It is September 8th and it still has not been shipped. I am frustrated that I have had to literally walk these people through each step of their job, when that should not be their customers responsibility. Do they not have adequate resources, competent employees, or simple common sense to finish a task you've started? I would request a refund if it was not specifically assigned to the course at my school and I had the option of obtaining it anywhere else. I cannot wait to be done with these incompetent idiots."
