"My experience dealing with this company felt more like a b2b transaction than a consumer one. Like most b2b companies, they don't contract with a call center with someone always around to talk. They don't answer the phone during lunch or after hours. This helps keep their prices so low, it's like wholesale. The nice thing about that is that you will never have to deal with someone who speaks English as a second language with a heavy accent. I get so tired of calling an American company and talking to someone in India I can barely understand!
I haven't received the product yet, so I can't comment on the packaging. So far, so good. At this point, I would buy from them again. I would caution you, though, to know the exact part number you are looking for. That will help you a lot in ordering the right one. The website is not set up for just browsing. Like I said, it's more of a b2b experience. I think it's a good place for mechanics, who know what they're doing and know exactly what they need to order. It's not good if you are unknowledgable, and need help finding the right part.
One more thing...they didn't charge my card until the item shipped. That was nice.
UPDATE : I received the package...only 3 days after I placed the order. That's really fast, in my opinion. The product was nicely packaged with good insulation. I feel confidant now to order from them again."
"They have posted hours but are never there, the phone goes directly to voice mail, been 3 days an no reply email, and their "Chat Now" feature does not work.
I got a wrong part and simply wanted to return and exchange it for the correct one. They state that they have an easy return policy and procedure but how can anyone return a part if they can not contact someone to get a return label?
Easy for them I guess, not so easy for their customers."
"These people do not have the things they show on their website. The prices are too good to be true and they are not true.
They are a waste time."
"I do not recommend using theautopartsshop.com to buy your auto parts. I bought an O2 sensor that said Universal fit but nothing in the description or photos made it known that there was no connector on the part...so in order to use it, a person would have to splice and manually wire it all into the old connector (which is not recommended for the fact that your connector could also be faulty). I requested an RMA stating that the description was not correct (company error). However, they claimed it was my error and decided to charge me a 20% restocking fee AND I paid to ship it to them. We went back and forth about the measly $6 restocking fee and they refused to refund it. We spent more effort and time (company's labor cost) going back-and-forth about fault than if the company (Jay) had simply agreed to refund that $6. Therefore, I concluded that theautopartsshop misrepresents their parts - possibly to make a sale. DON'T BUY HERE! "
" Tho the company is difficult to speak to on the phone, in their defense, I never did use the contact site until after writing this review. They responded immediately apologizing and credited my card right away. Theyve earned my trust. "
"The parts that I ordered did not fit. I found their website information misleading. If they say it works for all models, then it should work for all models. I decided to just get an RMA and return the parts, eating the cost on the shipping. Note, their return process via the website has been down for over two months. I'm not sure if it worked prior to my order, but I would not be surprised if it hasn't work for a while. So I had to call in three times to get an RMA, being told the first two times that the website would be up soon. After promptly sending the parts back and emailing them the tracking info (UPS ground). It still took 20 business days to get a refund that they say should take 10 days. I had to call them in order to get the refund processed since they didn't feel like doing it on their own. I also had to email them three times in order to actually get the refund to show on my credit card.
Wrong parts due to incorrect website information and abysmal customer service. Avoid this company. The free ground shipping is not worth it."
"Buyer beware. I ordered a side mirror for a Volkswagen Jetta. When I recieved the part it was cracked in two places. They claimed that UPS would come and pick the part up and they would send a new one. 3 weeks go by and no UPS and no new part. I shipped the part back and they only gave me a partial refund. I am out 20 bucks and heap load of head aches and wasted time dealing with this irresponsible and lackadaisical company. "
"I read the negative reviews but decided to take a chance anyway. They had the part I needed (an older Jaguar part) cheaper than anyone else. Correct part arrived in less than a week and fit fine. I'll use them a again"
"DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE GUYS! THIS SITE IS A SCAM!!! YOU ORDER YOUR PART AND THEY WILL SEND YOU SOMETHING ELSE, NOT EVEN CLOSE TO MATCHING FOR YOUR VEHICLE, SO THEY KEEP 20% OF YOUR ORDER FOR RE-STOCKING FEE-THAT IS IF THEY EVEN REFUND YOU! STAY AWAY OR LEARN THE HARD WAY. CHECK OUT THEIR COMPLAINTS HERE: http://www.bbb.org/new-york-city/business-reviews/auto-parts-and-supplies-new/theautopartsshop-com-in-smithtown-ny-108855
I WISH I COULD HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE ORDERING FROM THESE SCAMMERS!"
"I had an amazing experience with AutoPartsShop.com
When I contacted the local mechanics for the thing I was looking for, they gave me very high quotes ~$150. But I could find the same product for less than $30 at AutoParts. After placing the order, I got an email with a tracking number. I tried to track my product almost immediately but the website said they needed to get something from the warehouse before they could update the tracking information. I was a bit disappointed as the tracking data did not update even after 1 day. But to my surprise when I reached home, I found the product had already been delivered. Yes, the delivery happened just 1 day after I had placed my order. It was therefore a very wonderful experience altogether!!!"
"AutoPartsShop seem ok but my Parts (ABS Sensors) bring up all my warning lights and as Im in Australia and had the Horror of dealing with Bongo my parts cost the same as Genuine in Australia.
It now looks like quite a problem to resolve due to being in Australia."
"Just wanted to thank the Auto parts shop for supplying affordable parts with the quality to go with. We had a bad experience around Christmas and they helped us pull through it with the money we had to repair our vehicle. Thank You for your service."
"The service was fast, looking up the parts was easy, and the shipping was quick. "
"This site is at the top of our list when trying to find parts for our older classic cars such as our 1968 Buick Riviera."
"This merchant had the part I needed, when no one else did."
