"The ordering process was easy. There was a problem with the wheel having to be transferred which caused a delay in the 2nd day shipping I requested which upset me. An attempt to inform me of the problem was made 2 days in a row. I contacted the vendor on the 2nd day. I explained that the delay was not what I paid for. The product was expedited at that point. The wheel was the right product, looked good, and worked perfectly. I would probably buy from them again but would anticipate a longer delivery."

"TheAutoPartsShop.com has a good selection of products and an easy, intuitive system for finding those parts. I appreciate the extra steps that it makes you go through to verify that you are buying a part for the make and model of car you have.

With that being said, I never received an email notification that the package had shipped, but rather had to go back to the website, enter some information, and manually request an email with the shipping and tracking info. Everything worked out fine, the package was shipped quickly and received on time, so this wasn't a big deal.

However, once the website had made sure that I was ordering the part for the right make and model of car, and the package had shipped, I received the part that I ordered, but it was not the right part for my make and model.

That's right. After so much work ensuring that I bought the right part, and even though the part looks identical from the front side to what I needed, the back of the part (a turn signal switch / headlight switch assembly)has plugs with a different pinout then the 1998 model that I was ordering for.

Let's just clarify here. The part that I ordered was definitely listed as the part for the make and model of car that I wanted to repair. In fact, it was listed as the replacement part for a couple of similar models and for several similar years. The part looks identical to the part that I needed (from the front), and I can easily see how this mistake might have happened. However, the bottom line is that it is definitely the wrong part for the make, model, and year listed (1998 Nissan Frontier). The very problem that the retailer was trying to prevent happened anyway; not because of a user error, but because the retailer has incorrect information about their parts.

As a result, I was able to use the part anyway because I have a fair amount of experience with electronics. I knew where to order the custom MOLEX plugs to fit the back of the turn signal, and I had the knowledge to figure out the pinout of the lights and turn signals so that I could custom wire my car to work with this part. I doubt, however, that most people are going to go to all of this trouble.

All in all, I would say that TheAutoPartsShop.com has a good website, and I am sure that most of their products are correctly identified, but I landed in an exceptional case on my very first order. If I need another basic part for this truck then I will consider ordering it from this retailer, but if it is a part that is electrical, or is special to this model, I would strongly consider ordering it somewhere else first.

"The parts were easy to look up.When I received the parts they were exact fit for this application. I ordered headlite asys. for a Ford Contour. The old ones were yellowed & scratched. I tried to clean them with a lens fix kit, just not the same. Very nice fitting parts, work GREAT!!!"

"Their website was not updated to say they they had no stock. Ordered a window regulator and it took them a day and a half to tell me they didn't have it after I had ordered it. didn't tell me when they would have it or where I could get it. Not too cool.

In response to their response:
regulator comes with the window motor, it's all one unit. So whatever you were trying to imply, you failed. All I stated was fact.. sugar coat it all you want.. you still have a lot of good reviews.. but if you don't have something in stock and your website doesn't say it, you have wasted my time. not to mention my funds as they need time to clear back into my account.

I guess I'll add that they can't take constructive criticism either. The next cheapest retailer (who I had named but Mr Grumpy here had my post removed because of it. I wonder how many other negative reviews you had removed) has way better service and ended up being the same price because the core charge was different. PS you lied about when I made the purchase. it was the 16th @ 10PM

PSS. To smart shoppers: look at all the negative reviews for patterns.. not just the good reviews.
