"Before they will ship the product they call to sell overpriced accessories. I tried to call back to cancel and they have a 20% cancellation fee. They also failed to send the right SD card."

"Earlier this evening I placed an on-line order with TECHNODigital for a Nikon S51c camera. After the order process was completed, I received an email providing a phone # to call to confirm the order. I called the number and got a recording with thier hours. Shortly afterwards I received a call from TECHNODigital asking that I confirm the order. I did. This person then started a hard sell to upgrade the battery for the camera. I decided not to accept his offer. He continued, insulting me becuase I wanted to accept a poor battery that ships with the camera. I told him that I was not interested in any additional accessories and if he wouldn't sell the camera as advertised I would cancel the order. He said since I just told him to cancel the order he was going to cancel it and hung up. Shortly thereafter I received a second email stating the order was cancelled. I'm now concerned that I provided my Credit Card info. I would not recommend anyone do business with this company or any of its clones (e.g. DigitalNerds, Stargate Photo, etc.)"

"I ordered a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18K camera for a low price on-line from techondigital. I received an email stating I needed to confirm with a phone call. A high pressure sales person tried to talk me into lots of "extras" that were over-priced. I firmly said "no." Two days later, I received an email saying, "Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date. We have cancelled the order. when or if we get the product again in stock soon will send you an email to place an order please do not resubmit your order again." The item is still listed on "Everyprice.com" as being in stock and in fact, the price is now lower. It's obviously a scam.

"Another Scam. They sell cheap products, then force you to call a "confirm" your order. When you call, they are very short with you, and pushing you to buy every overpriced accessory known to man. Insisting that I MUST get an additional battery for $60. I refused all offers, I just wanted the camera. 3 days later, I get an email saying "Sorry, since the item is 6-8 weeks out of stock, we have canceled your order". So I called to confirm they canceled it and as soon as someone answered (obiously they dont give a company name, they just quickly say "Hello" like your bothering them), I said, Im calling to confirm you canceled my order, I got an email and...... they hung up. Horrible company. I also tried calling back as a different customer asking if that camera was in stock and they said it was. They just dont sell it without an accessory."

"I placed an onlined order, after finding the sony cybershot at an incredible price through Techondigital.com. Whilst placing my online order, i took copies of all the particulars i had entered, and saved them to pdf. i also made sure the camera was in stock. after placing my order, i received an email informing me to contact their customer support within 24 hours. i did that, and of course was on hold forever, but eventually got through to a very rude individual who informed me that i had purchased a beautiful camera, and needed to purchase additional memory, which he quoted me at $169.00. I refused, so he said, ok, i'll cancel your order. so i said, no, i dont want to cancel the camera, i want to purchase the camera on its own. I asked to speak to his supervisor, and he said, SPEAKING. So I asked to speak to the owner of the company and he said, i am the owner. He said I'll place your order for the camera, good bye and hung up. he was so rude. After hanging up, i checked my credit card, and it had not been debited, and so the next day when i noticed it had still not been debited, i contacted the company again, and this time was told that my order was on hold for 1 week, and that they would ship it as soon as it arrived. however, after hanging up the phone, i received an email saying that they had cancelled my order because it was on back order for 6-8 weeks. these people are scam artists. i have notified my bank. please do not purchase anything from them. "I knew price was too good to be true. After I made purchase I read the reseller ratings and realized I made a mistake. Still, when the guy called to confirm I was as nice as I could be. He told me the battery would only last 20 minutes and I said I still didn't want the additional battery. He made some comment about why would I want to make a purchase that wouldn't do what it should, but I said I was fine without the extras. Then he said they had left 16 messages and why hadn't I returned their call. I told him this was the first call I had received. He said I should check my messages and hung up. Then I got an immediate email saying the order was cancelled due to being out of stock. I will have to watch my credit card closely to make sure these scammers don't try to use it.
In a word, SCAMMERS. Avoid like the plague.

"This store tries to bait you and then do a hard sell over the phone to purchase overpriced options. After declining the hard sell, they say either you item is out of stock for 6-8 weeks or the low price is only good on the Japanese version that must be serviced in Japan. AVOID THIS STORE. THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND. Simply cancel your order as I did and deal with someone who is honest about their prices."

"Dealing with TheDigitalNerds isn't worth the money you might save. A day after doing business with this company my credit card information was being used. This only happened once before, when I order from a company call WAWA Digital. According to the BBB this company uses several different names."

"Ordered via online web site of ThedigitalNerds.com a new Casio Exilim EX-Z1080 digital camera for $189, plus $8.49 shipping and $15.59 tax for total $213.08. Web site said the item was available.

Immediately received EMail confirming my order. Email said to call within 24 hrs to confirm order. Then, received two additional eMails saying to call "order confirmation" representative. I also received a voicemail at my home phone (10-15 minutes after order placed online) saying to call within 24 hours to my order.

I called 8-10x over a 2 hour period the 800-numbers provided in the EMail/Vmail to "confirm order" (I smelled a scam at this point). I never got through to a rep... and there was no voicemail option.... only "mood music" to keep me on-hold. Finally, got through on the 1-800 number and spoke to the "confirmation guy". He asked for my order # and then immediately attempted to up-sale me on a new Camera battery... saying the battery that comes with the Casio EX-Z1080 would only last 20 minutes (which I knew was NOT TRUE) and I needed to get a better battery. I declined his offer and hold him to ship my order per my original internet order.

He refused to stop up-selling me... and when I told him to just "stop and ship my order" he said that "he would cancel my order if I continued to be rude to me!". I told him that he can either ship my order or cancel it -- but if he cancelled the order that I would report him and TheDigitalNerds to the Better Business Bureau, etc. He then hung up on me.

I then immediately called the TheDigitalNerds company number again... and asked to speak with a Manager/Supervisor to file a complaint about the order and sales rep. I immediately got through to somebody (around 6pm EST) and I told my story (above)... and was told that I would be connected with a customer service rep to resolve the problem.

I was then put on hold on/off over a 10 minute period. During this time, I received an email officially canceling my order... stating that my order was cancelled per my request and that the order would be deleted from their system!

After 10 minutes, some guy came on the phone... completely unaware that I had already been working with somebody... he looked up my order, said it was cancelled... I told him that his order confirmation rep had cancelled my order after I refused the "up-sale" and refused to buy the "better battery". This guy then told me that the camera wasn't available (in stock) and that's why the order was cancelled.

I told him that I was going to report them to BBB and Casio ... and I then hung up.

BOTTOM LINE: These guys are to be AVOIDED at all cost. My worst experience in 10 years of placing Internet/Web-site orders. Clearly a phone-bank operation (you could hear them up-selling in the background while on the phone). They need to be reported to the proper authorities and put out of business and/or penalized for their methods/tactics and false advertising.

"Ordered Nikon S51c - was called twice to try to sell me extremely overpriced extras ... when I declined - the next day received an email canceling the order, as it was suddenly "out of stock" for 6 - 8 weeks. Avoid this store at all costs. extreme hard upsell - and if you do not buy - they cancel the order. "

"Placed an order, and got an email asking to call William to confirm. Was told that the camera had a "test" battery and I need to buy another one. After I declined, they promised to send me a camera. Since not receiving a camera, or even a shipping confirmation email, I call them back in 7 days. The response I got was this: We thank you for your order and appreciate you shopping with us .

Due to the product you ordered being out of stock for 6-8 weeks from today's date. We have cancelled the order . when or if we get the product again in stock soon will send you an email to place an order please do not resubmit your order again . sorry again and thanks for your understanding .

"I called to find out if the Sony DSC-H9 was new or refurbished based on some of the comments here and I was told it was refurbished. I asked where is it noted on the website and the customer service rep was RUDE!!! He said why am I questioning his answer. I asked to talk to a supervisor and he said that I could when I turned 21. Umm..I'm well over 21. I told him that I wanted to talk to a supervisor because of his rudeness. He said that I was talking to the owner.

I would not do business with these guys no matter what price they gave

"I received the camera today (9/11/07) and guess what--it was refurbished, not brand new as had been promised even though I paid the extra money for a new one! What a complete crook this person is!!! The camera was scratched, the owners manual wrinkled and the battery looked as if it had been dropped many times. I wish there were some very visible way to warn buyers of this place, and also a way to prosecute this criminal. Please do your research before buying anything from a company on the Internet so you won't get scammed like I did. The invoice I received is from The Camera Wiz. Their address and phone number is listed as: 83 Ave O, Brooklyn NY. 11204 1-***-***-****"
