"Well, reviewing the dissatisfied was very scary. My experience with techon wasn't as bad. Still, they did promise an upgrade on the carry case, which I didn't get. But overall, not an unhappy experience. Got my Canon S5 IS in a timely manner, got the SD card they hard sold me and an adequate case. Probably won't do business with them again (especially since I now have the 800 number for the camera dealer themselves) but not unhappy. If you don't like hard sale salesmen, don't deal with these people or for that matter don't deal with car salesmen, insurance salesmen, warranty salesmen, or anyone else that makes a living off you buying more than you need."
"I'm sorry to say that I was taken in too. I ordered Dec.6. I called and got the hard sell, but declined. They said "enjoy your camera". Then I found this site and I've been worried. I cancelled my card two days after the order. They had already charged me. The next day I got a ups tracking #. The camera came today, Dec. 13. It is a REFURBISHED camera. It is in great condition, but is missing the SD card. The site, as you all know, advertises "all new cameras". I did get the Canon sd 750 for $179 plus 8 bucks shipping. I got the 'bonus' tripod, cleaning kit, and screen protectors. I came out all right. They did misrepresent themselves and I'm short an SD card. I Consider myself Lucky. I don't recommend them and I won't do business with them again."
"My boyfriend and I were very excited to buy an Olympus Stylus 770 SW and when we looked online, we stumbled upon this website: techondigital.com. This camera that we wanted was retail-priced for about $450 and we were astounded to find it on this website for only $269.
So, I quickly placed an order and paid an extra $24.95 to have the camera in 3 business days. Immediately, I received an email from them saying that I must confirm my order within 24-hours. I live on Guam and had a hard time getting a hold of them because of the time difference. So, I emailed them a reply. They replied the next day and asked me to contact "James" at ext 201.
On the 4th, this guy called me at 6am informing me that they don't ship to Guam because it's too expensive. So, I got another address and asked them to ship it to Hawaii instead. Right after I confirmed the shipping address, this guy forces me to buy a useless accessory, like another battery that I didn't need or a 256mb memory card. I politely refused but this guy said that "it's required for me to buy an accessory if I want the camera." B/S, I thought to myself. This guy was pushy and rude and I felt very uncomfortable talking to him. So, to make this guy shut up (because I was tired and sleep-deprived) I just said yes to the memory card (which was way over-priced, by the way). He even took off $9 for me...whoop-ti-doo...whatever...the guy said that it'll arrive in Hawaii in about 2 days.
But ever since then I have not heard a thing from them or the whereabouts of my camera. I've been constantly calling them, but no answer. I have emailed them numerous times but to no avail.
Now, here's the sad part: I used my debit card instead of my credit card. They withdrew $398.99 on the 7th and I still don't have my camera. The original billing was $293.95 including shipping and taxes and they slapped on $100 right out of their a-holes. There's no way I can get my money back and I have to close my account and open a new one.
This is the first time I have ever attempted to purchase something online and I have started off with a very bad experience. I have learned my lesson and will be more careful next time.
I will NEVER do business with techondigital EVER again. I hope they burn in hell..."
"ordered pentax optio W30 on line for $179. That night at 11:30 pm Techon called me to "remind" me I had not ordered a battery and that the one included only lasted 20 minutes. I declined after being berated "how could I enjoy my camera!" 2 days later my account had not be charged. I called Techon and was told the camera is on backorder though it is still advertised as being in stock. I was allowed to cancel the order. It would seem that since I did not want their overpriced battery they did not want to sell me the camera at that price. Very deceptive practice! "
"Order ID: 832569
Order Date: Sun Nov 18 08:29:23 2007
I had a dealing with techondigital.com and I concur that they are scam artists.
I ordered a Canon G9, received a order confirmation with a note to call their 877-425-993, went thru their high pressure sales and did not buy any accessories, and a week later when I was expecting the product, I received a order cancellation notice due to being out of stock!!!
Interestingly enough when I check their web site they currently do have the G9 camera!!!
They only want to sell, if they can make up for their low-ball price on selling you the accessories.
Do not deal with these guys. They are driving themselves out of business anyway, as the everyprice.com has already banned them from their site as of this writing. Hopefully we can catch all their aliases and link them.
I ended up buying the camera from Amazon.com."
"I ordered a Canon SX100 camera using the Techondigital website. The website claimed to have the camera in stock and offered a low price. I later called to confirm the order and was told by the salesman that the camera was in stock and my order confirmed. He tried to sell me a high priced battery set and SD memory, both of which I declined. I called later to track my order and was treated rudely and told the camera was not available, but not that my order was canceled. I waited a day or so and checked the website, which claimed that the camera was available but at a slightly higher price. I called again and was told that my order was canceled. I asked for an email to confirm the cancellation but have never received it."
"Absolutely a joke. Ordered was placed on the weekend. I received a call on Monday to verify the order and make sure I filled out this survey oh and also to sell me more things. On Friday a.m. 6 days later I received a phone call telling me that my credit card did not go through. The man was rude and it was a joke. I have cancelled my order and will never use this company again. I needed the camera for an overseas trip and now there is no way to receive it on time."
"I bought online from TechonDigital a Canon sx100 camera from these con artists and was told to confirm within 24 hours. I couldn't get through on the phone since this was a Friday night. They emailed me and told me to confirm with James who tried to sell me sd cards, battery chargers and anything else he could think of at a ridiculously high price. I stated I just wanted the camera and he seemed obviously annoyed and got off the phone. Then four days later I get the email about it not being in stock story which obviously means since I wouldn't buy more overinflated stuff from them, then they weren't going to sell me the camera. If the price seems too good, chances are it is a scam. I only went with them since they got such high ratings on some site (paid off by them?) I was researching. If the discount is substantial, stay away!

"I ordered a canon powershot sd850. After ordering i started to read the reviews on different web sites. I started to wonder if I would recieve my order so i called them back and a gentelmen by the name of James talked with me and assured me that i will be recieving my camera by the weekend. I am sure that i will be satisfied with the purcahse. And we can put the bad reviews to sleep. I will do a follow up review when i recieve my camera. Any how many days it took."
"Purchased a Canon SD-850 camera online on 12/8. Called on 12/9 to comfirm my order & was told that I had to order a 2 or 5 hour battery pack, since the batteries included with the camera are a piece of crap. This would have cost me either an extra $69.00 or $99.00. I asked him to give me some information about the batteries & he told me that he had 30 calls on hold & could not give me any information. When I declined the offer, he said that the camera was not in stock & would take 6 to 8 weeks before its back in stock. I checked the website again & found that the camera is still in stock. The shyster that I spoke to immediately sent me an e-mail cancelling my order. Avoid these scammers like the plague."
"I ordered a digital camera from Techron Digital. I was annoyed that their website told me I had to telephone them to "confirm" my order before it would be filled but I did so anyway. They used this opportunity to try to upsell me on options for the camera. No problem. Three days later I received an email saying the camera was out of stock and they were cancelling my order. Why couldn't they have told me this when I talked to their sales representative on the phone? I will not be buying from this merchant again."
"Easy and fast to order. My order came two days later and everything I ordered was included. Hassel free, no problems. Everyone I dealt with was courteous and friendly and helpful. Thank You. Deborah Thaler"
"I ordered a Casio EX-S770 camera from the retailer who seemed over the best competitive price for a boldly claimed new product. The next day I received a call from their sales representative who attempted to explain to me that what was going to be sent was a Canada version of the phone that had no warranty and if I wanted the US version with the 1 year warranty it would be an additional $35. This is SCAM as it planly states:
http://www.techondigital.com/product.asp?productid=EXS770BEDBC_&tab=1
• NP-20 Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery • USB Cradle • Special AC Adapter (for camera dock) • USB Cable • A/V Cable • Wrist Strap • Software CD-ROM • User Guide • 1-Year Limited Warranty
I immediately canceled my order and begin more closely researching this vendor only to find all to many complaints and alias's used. If someone knows their physical address I would like to file a complaint with BBB (who is rediculous with their requirements for reporting complains and requires such information)."
"I placed on order on www.techondigital.com on 12-5-07. A perfect example of internet Fraud. They called me 30 minutes later and demanded I purchase accessories. I refused. They were very upset. They confirmed order would ship out on 12-5-07 and hung the phone up on me. I called back on 12-6-07 at 7:30am and left a voice mail in cusotmer service. 7. hours later no answer. I called again at 2:30 and they advisd order was on backorder for 3 weeks and and could cancel me order, then they transfered me to voice. I called back and they put me on hold for 30 minutes. "
"I placed an order with TECHONDIGITAL. Their products and services are great. I am very happy with my purchase. Would recommend doing business with this company."
