"I was searching for a copy of a book, and found it on BookDepository for, what I thought was, $10 cheaper than every place else. So I ordered the book (on a Friday at around 2PM PST). Within 5 minutes of purchasing, I realize I had ordered the wrong book (first edition, not second), so I sent an email (the only way to contact the company) requesting they cancel my order. I received an email at 1AM Saturday morning saying that my order had already been processed and shipped.

Why even bother having a cancellation process/request if items are shipped out instantaneously (which I highly doubt). I'm guessing, since i'm in the US, they're banking on my not bothering to return the book as it's too expensive and/or too much trouble. Pure theory of course. Still, if you can't cancel an order within 12 hours of it being placed, when exactly could one cancel an order???

Just a final word about pricing... they are competitive with other online retailers in the US. So if you're a US buyer, unless you're willing to wait a while for your purchase (I was, their website says 10-14 days for US delivery) and you really want to save on shipping, just order it from one of the US based retailers."

"I ordered a Book from Book Depository in 22.8.2011. it was sent in 22.8.2011, but never received.
I contacted BD to complain and found out they trunkated my adress, so, most likelly, I will never receive it.
After repeated contacts, all the services say is that they will send the book back after it is retourned to them. So, most likely I will never receive the book I paid for.
Honestly, Amazon would have fix it in no time, and book depository (with wich I was so happy before) sucks in complaint management and problem fixing!

The major advantage of this bookstore is that they also sell brand new international editions of textbooks that cost 50% less than their hardcover, U.S. edition counterparts.
