"Several of the items that I ordered recently had labels that indicated they were not the size listed on the website. E.g., an item listed as "medium" was labeled XS; another item listed as "medium" was marked MP (medium petite?). These items did not come close to fitting, and that was frustrating. I had to send them back. ThredUp could have avoided the problem with better attention to how the garments were described on the website.
In the last couple of orders, I have noticed that the quality of the clothing is not as good as it used to be. Many of the items I received really looked quite worn out. ThredUp notes on the website that some items have "tiny flaws." These garments were out of that category- simply worn out.
One of the best things about ThredUp is the careful "curators" who cull through clothes to select for sale only those that really have more life in them. I can look through racks of worn out clothes at Goodwill, without the time lag and shipping costs.
My suggestion would be to reduce the volume of clothes you try to process to preserve quality control. That's the real value of ThredUp and if your customers lose confidence in quality control, you won't get it back.

"I ordered about 10 pieces of clothing, and I sent them all back. I was upset about the return shipping cost. I was under the impression that the free returns that were advertised meant my return shipping was included with the price. It was--but only if I chose to receive store credit for the entire order, instead of my money back to the original form of payment. All in all, the clothes were alright I suppose, I just happen to quite choosy, but I absolutely hate paying for shipping and even more so if its return shipping. Like I said, there was no particular problem with the clothing, and my experience was greatly affected by the fact that none of the clothes suited me and that I was deducted $8 for return shipping cost in order to get my money back to my card. "

"I sent in a full bag of clothing, all brands that were listed on the website as brands that are accepted. Many of the items still had tags on and were never worn. I got a total of $10 for all of my items (50+). It would have been more worthwhile for me to save them, sell them on my own, or even donate them. I have also received emails noting that many of my items have already sold on their website. I sent an email to customer service with a question and it took them over a week to respond to me. There is a consignment shop that gives me at least $1 per item. I will be going there in the future instead of using Thred Up. I gave it 2 stars because I did use my $10 credit to buy ONE shirt for my son. The purchasing process was easy, and my item was delivered quickly, and in nice condition."
