"I bought an external hard drive online. The device came defective. When asked for return authorization, the retailer hesitated. They did not refund the return shipping cost, having spent about 3 weeks playing email tag - writing me unintelligent emails about "but we have refunded it", then "ok, we didn't, but we will", and finally "we did, wrong amount and date; not happy? - talk to your financial institution". The customer service messages were polite, but written with poor grammar and, most importantly, did not resolve the issue. The retailer sells junk and refuses to refund you your money. Decide for yourself."

The way they handled an order for my daughter that I screwed up impressed me greatly. Every one I talked to in returning the article was incredibly helpful. I couldn't believe how nice they were about my screw up. This last order confirms every thing I've just said. It arrived very quickly and was exactly what I needed. Also before ordering I compared other sources and bought at Tiger Direct because of their shipping costs. It sounds like I work for the company doesn't it, but I assure you I don't. "Happy with 2 of my 3 purchases: a Lexar thumbdrive and an USB Laplink--both good quality and value. The 3rd item was an inexpensive off-lease HP Compaq small-form desktop which I am in the process of exchanging because there is something quite wrong with the machine (crashed and blue screened and auto checkdisked with ominous warnings several times over first week!), plus the Windows 7 32-bit Premium pre-format wasn't done completely; even missing games component; and much more hassels. But, TigerDirect Customer Service seemed to be okay though a little terse in dealing with my problem. Have got an exchange authorization underway & received a return label. But, the exchange machine probably won't reach me for 3-4 weeks. At this point, I'm not exactly unhappy, as much as anxious. When this is resolved--or not--I will post an update. "
