"User friendly website. East to order. Received purchase in short time. Pleased with item and service."
"My order was delivered quickly as promised. The camera was in brand new condition as advertised. No complaints at all"
"After trying to purchase the new A7R (already have the earlier iterations) from a couple of 'other' online vendors, getting the obnoxious phone calls telling me the model I ordered was wrong, didn't have batteries or charger, needed an outrageously pricey SD card, and had a typo in the ad, so would be $**** more than I'd paid, I was just about fed up, but living in a small town, the pricing differential was crazy.
I'd ordered a Minolta D7 from TriState many years ago (still have it) and remember I'd had issues with shipping and a warranty claim, so was hesitant. Wow what a difference ~30 years makes. TriState has really upped their game, and didn't try to upsell/rob me at all.
Shipped promptly, at the advertised price, arrived in great shape and right on time. Could not be happier."
"I love this company! Best price, fast delivery! Thank you sooo much!"

"Tristate deals mostly (exclusively?) in "Grey Market" items (at least cameras and lenses.) They may also serve as a conduit for USA end-of-life model changeovers, moving old models still unsold in warehouses when new models are released. They also may breakdown "kit" packages, selling the body and lenses separately. Grey Market merchandise are sourced overseas and usually have no USA Warranty or manufacturer support (I've read that Canon does, in fact, support Grey Market folks with problems but cannot verify that one way or the other.) They pass through several wholesale and retail chains before winding up in USA retail pipelines. I'm not convinced manufacturers don't intentionally flow product through this network in order to move product that won't move at the higher MSRP prices through "Authorized Dealers." The MSRP extra $$$ are solely for that Warranty Card. Most photo websites strongly encourage avoiding Grey Market product and using their "recommended" vendors. Their motivation is simple - they get a commission (read that as a "kickback") when you click on their vendor sources and buy through their Links. I enjoy reading Ken Rockwell, among others, but there's a reason he's always taking pictures of his latest Mercedes.....
You have to decide whether having that support is worth the extra cash - often very substantial. I decided to trust Canon to make reliable gear that wouldn't need repairs and thus save the money. My first purchase through TriState was with a little trepidation, but all went well. New in box, fast shipping etc- only missing the USA Warranty card (they provide their own warranty - so far untested by me.) So far, I have bought 4 cameras and several lenses through this company. All have been shipped free, shipped fast (no religious holidays!!!), with tracking numbers, well-packed, arrived quickly, were "as advertised", New In Box, and worked well. No indications they were Open Box demo items, customer returns, or had other issues (although some of their inventory could fall in that category.) I look them over very carefully, check all the matching serial numbers between box and camera and what's programmed inside. Also check the shutter clicks.
My latest purchase was a Canon T7i. It was advertised as an 800D and the unit is labeled that way. Canon markets the T7i as the 800D overseas so that just confirms its overseas origin. It's a very nice camera - I put all my new gear through an immediate and very through workout!!! It replaced an SL2 (I also bought from TriState) and which I sold on eBay for only $100 less than I paid for it - after 2 years of good service.
My confidence with TriState has grown with each purchase and I currently would have no qualms about buying from them. In fact, I'm looking at a fancy Canon L lens as I write this. Their price is unbeatable. I think my savings over all my purchases has amounted to over $1000 - maybe several thousand dollars. That's nothing to sneeze at for the price of some USA Warranty Cards! And No, I do not work for this outfit. "
"Quick delivery, all options that I was looking for, at the right price. Win win win!"
"I had a concern with the camera I purchased from TriState Camera. They contacted me and went out of their way to make sure I was a satisfied customer! They answered my concerns and I am a happy camera owner! TriState Camera really wants to make sure I am totally satisfied, and I am. Thanks for your great care of your customers!"
