I have to take it to a repair shop to have these issues on this new watch resolved. Also, we are still waiting to hear about the complaint concerning the fact that the TomTom we received promised free map upgrades on the product description, but when we went to upgrade the map for a street that is not on the map where my wife works, it said we had to pay $60. "Earlier I wrote a rather scathing review about a recent purchase I had made with ubid, and the seeming lack of communication that occurred between myself and the Customer Service area of ubid. It is the purpose of this note to retract the entire statement of that earlier review. I received a telephone call -- a truly personal touch -- from one of the members of the the customer service department, Ms. Elsa Rey, and she mentioned that each time a request was made from me, a speedy reply had been sent back. For some reason or another, I was not receiving these messages, and was getting further incensed. Ms. Rey could not figure out why I was not getting the messages (probably my email provider) but each and every message had been answered. The purpose of her call was to let me know that ubid was standing behind all of its policies regarding returns, etc. Of course, I didn't blame ubid for the defect in the article in question, although it is interesting that the manufacturer of the item would not stand behind its alleged warranty. In any case, Ms. Rey rekindled the love affair that I have had for ubid for many years and now I am feeling the giddiness that one experiences from a long romance (as well as the feeling like a chump for writing a negative report). I have apologized to ubid via the personal touch supplied by Ms. Rey to ubid, and I feel it is important that a public apology is in order as well. I am once again a happy camper due especially to the efforts of Elsa Rey,"
