"After not receiving an overnighted package on Friday (I was not home so driver left a note on my door saying it would be delivered Monday, fair enough), my husband stayed home all day to make sure he could sign for it on Monday. On Friday the driver was "nice" enough to come up to the third floor where my apartment is and leave the note, on monday not even a knock a call, nothing.
My husband heard the truck drive away and no package. Instead he went downstairs to find a note saying delivery was attempted and nobody was home, a blatant lie. If the driver had come up the elevator he would have found my husband waiting at the door.
Anyway, that is not the worst part when he contacted UPS he was told that if the driver was able he would come back later. They would confirm within the hour. One hour passed and nobody had contacted him. He called back and they told him that he would for sure not be able to come back.
Being that it was my passport I was extremely upset when I came home and contacted UPS myself. I explained my situation and how the regular driver always gets into the building and manages to drop off packages even when the buzzer is broken. NO EXCUSE for what the driver did basically. I said if I dont get my passport which i need by the night I will be filing an official complaint against him.
They somehow managed to get the driver and he said he would drop it off. It was a different driver that said he had to go look for the first one to pick up the package. We got the passport at 5pm (instead of 10am) finally, in the knick of time. Issue solved right? I was happy with their response but kind of upset that I had to get angry with them to get anything done.
Well today, 3 weeks later I get a lecture from the second driver????? WHAT???????? "You're the one that complained huh?".... Me: "Not about you" ( he is the regular guy)...... him: "Still you dont complain"..... Really??? so you guys can keep doing a shitty ass job without consequences?
I should have said that but I was in shock I was getting lectured by a UPS driver.
Then he says "your maiden name isnt even on the directory" .... as i said before the buzzer has been broken before and they still manage to knock on my door, it might have my maiden name but my Apartment number and first name are still on there and he managed to make it all the way up the friday prior. Again all of these things should have been said but I was in shock.
He then leaves and sarcastically says "thanks, Smith" (My married name) what an ass!!!! ughhhhhhhh oh and to top it all off the packages today were for my husband and they did not requiere a signature but he still asked for one. These people are full of excuses and not only that, they are rude!!!
I was in shock until now so had to vent here, unfortunately when I came to my senses and realized I did nothing wrong he was gone and I couldn't throw him my two cents. He obviously came with a mission to confront me about "complaining" even though in the end I didn't file a complain because I got my passport which is all I wanted. never ordering from them again good old post office is the way to go.
Maybe he'll come back and yell at me for this one too........"
"Once again UPS has "lost" our aircraft parts. Every person I have talked to has been full of excuses but not a single solution. In fact, they can't even figure out WHERE MY PACKAGE IS, even though it was scanned into their Houston facility on Friday at 12 noon. It is now Tuesday. Customer service Deanna put a manager, Victor, on the phone. He can't even get an answer from the Houston facility. Customer service at corporate headquarters, Aaron, put on Lori?, another supervisor. Yep, more apologies and lots of excuses. NOBODY AT UPS seems to know who scanned my package in or where it went. I cannot understand how a company does not know which employee scanned the package at their facility, or how they could not know what packages are on their trucks. I call BS. These packages are scanned via handheld trackers which are carried by the drivers, so ALL PACKAGES are electronically accounted for. Between the lost parts, damaged and beaten packages, and the complete lack of ANY sort of knowledge within their company in this issue, UPS has lost my business for good. They will not answer my questions so that I can update my customer, but rather they will call my vendor and update them, then my vendor is expected to stop what they are doing and call me to let me know what UPS is doing, so I can in turn let my customer know the status. What a big, aggravating loophole for everyone BUT UPS to have to deal with. My vendor did their part, they shipped my package and do not need to be stuck in the middle of UPS' screw up. Time for companies to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY when they mess up."
"my package just arive and averithing inside is broken "again" I hate ups "
"Drivers are lazy and incompetent. They leave packages any place they want. I have signs up all over to leave deliveries ONLY at the front door under the porch. UPS drivers won't walk that 30 feet but instead, leave packages out in the driveway or whereever.
Today they say they left at my garage which has signs not to do that, but in fact, the package is not there, nor any place I can find. Customer Service was not helpful at ALL!!!!"
"I own a business and have had a business account with UPS for about 4 years now. I have to say that when it comes to UPS loosing the packages they can trick you into not paying you for their claims. UPS had lost my 1st package of signs I sent (I make signs) and I ended up making the signs again for the client because my client was very unhappy. UPS took my second package I sent and claimed it as the lost one. They also made some kind of scam and linked both tracking numbers to the same "Case #" , I lost money and they are not willing to take responsibility. So BE REALLY careful when it comes to them loosing your boxes. If you need to send replacements because their investigation lasts 8 days, do it through USPS not UPS, because they will use your replacement to justify they found the original package and will NOT pay you. This is a big company, but gladly the internet lets us communicate this things to other companies. Another hint, if you need fright shipping use Conway freight, they are much more cheaper and faster."
"Sorry business practices. Charged $90 to ship 2 boxes because of the size then they damaged them and wouldnt pay because they claimed it was not packaged well. Stroller should never have been damaged by them. I will avoid UPS."
"Screw these MFs, 4 days and my time sensitive package that I paid $130 to be delivered the day after is not delivered yet. A bunch of empty skull morons with a monkey business, last time sending anything with them. They stole my gifts twice before, nothing delivered. This time it was important documents. Let's see if they get lost too."
"WoW, I really did not expect to see so many others are having problems with UPS. My driver has the same camera I have. He stole two lens from me. One of them he even delivered a wide open empty box. lol The other one, he didn't even bother to drive by. You know they don't care when they won't even look at the complaints. Read the red print above."
"This review relates to UPS for business services, not the performance of the local delivery person. For the items I sold at least, UPS always seemed just a little bit higher priced than Fedex. The only reason I used them is because they have a regional sorting center in my town so the hours are more convenient for me to ship. Their website is also not quite as user friendly as Fedex. The only time I use them anymore is when I simply can't make it to the Fedex store that day or when I'm returning a product I purchased to a company and their prepaid shipping label is through UPS."
"Very bad service I have from UPS. Just deliver something to my apartment before calling me ahead. How can I stay at home all today for the package? It doesn't make any sense. Even I asked them to call me ahead, they just ignored that and they couldn't do that for me. If I asked them to deliver to another address or another UPS store near by, they said they couldn't do that or there would be extra charge. So disappointed by such bad service."
"I was told by a driver / representative of UPS that my name is being put on his "Do not deliver to" BLACKLIST ! ! ! I am a Senior Citizen and your driver was very very rude to me and even stared me down with his shoulders extended flexing his arm and neck muscles. I told him he had to leave the premises or I would call the Police!
I Never get any good service from UPS, and they are NEVER on time "
"UPS IS A JOKE!!!!! They have no idea how much their lazy behinds can mess up people's lives and plans. I was expecting a package today. Came straight home from work and sat in front of my window with my laptop (with view to the street) making sure I didn’t miss my package. All of the sudden at exactly 6:10 I hear the truck... I looked out the window and see the truck on the middle lane (NOT THE RIGHT LANE NEXT TO THE CURVE AS IN…. INTENTION TO STOP... NOOOO) He just kept on driving. Minutes later I check delivery status and this is what I See? Status changed stating they had done first attempt. And At what time was that done? Exactly at 6:10. I called to complain and the guy said he would make sure my package makes it today.... an hour later some rude lady calls and said that the driver is gone for the day. WOW!!! GREAT SERVICE UPS... WAY TO GO. Its Friday... I wonder. I gave it a 1 Star only because it didnt let me give it ZERO"
"This review is for UPS delivery services in general. As I write this, I have lost a day of packing because the UPS driver, for some unknown reason, decided it was easier for him to simply leave a tag on the door, rather than ring the buzzer.
I have been here all day long. There is no way that I wouldn't hear that buzzer, if anyone ever bothered to press it. I live in a really small place. I've gotten many packages here without problems. Except for the one that really matters.
I contacted their service center and reported this. They were very understanding and had someone from another division contact me. It's nice that they seem to care, but the fact remains that I lost a day of packing and will not get that time back. That's just not okay. No effort whatsoever was made to rectify the situation. The correct thing to do would have been to have that package delivered tonight. In fact, if they really cared about the situation and understood why time is of the essence, they would have had that guy get his arse over here and do his job, on his own time. But I guess that is too much like right, as they say.
All I know is, if I did my job the way this guy did, I wouldn't have a job. Rest assured of that. But then, it wouldn't occur to me to be so blatantly lazy and lie about the fact that a customer was unavailable. I've known people that were fired for worse. Those guys make a good salary for that job. There are educated people working at Starbuck's for God's sake. You'd think they'd have enough respect for the fact that they could be unemployed and maybe that would motivate them to do their job.
I will not be using UPS services for any reason after this. And, for those of you who rely upon them delivering packages on time for your customers, I'd highly suggest that you monitor their services. I'm sure they get away with this crap all of the time. They just assume that everyone is not home. Shows you how stupid they really are; many people work from home offices these days.
It is so pathetic that this guy had the audacity to fill out a crappy slip rather than just push the buzzer. Once. That's all I ask. Thing is, it takes a shorter time to just press the damn buzzer. Oh, but that meant he would have to actually put the package inside - or, worse yet, hand it over to me on the 1st floor. Lazy a-hole. Seriously, someone like that doesn't even deserve to have a job.
UPDATE
Well, guess what happened?! I got my package of boxes -- but despite putting a note on top of the slip that was left, the driver STILL did not bother to even let me know he was delivering it. The only reason I even know the package arrived, is that the vendor followed up and told me it was delivered. I told the vendor I was glad they called, because once again, I was not notified that the package was here.
The downstairs door was ajar, so he just waltzed right in and left the package so that anyone who wanted it could take it. Wonderful! I'm sure he just left it so that he would not have to help bring it up the one short flight of stairs.
I also learned that as I suspected, these guys are not required to walk up one short flight of stairs to deliver packages. Really? What about people in a house with a staircase? You just gonna leave a package at the foot of the street? Sure. No, this is just another way that tenants are disrespected. Rest assured that if I were in some million dollar home, that guy would have walked up the lousy short flight of stairs and at least left it on the porch.
But not for a tenant; we just don't deserve any respect. That has always amazed me, given that rent is the highest amount you spend each month. It ain't cheap and you get no tax rebate at all. Just money down the toilet. Landlords treat tenants like garbage, and if weren't for us, they would not be able to collect all that money that allows them to have what they do.
And even if the policy is that the lazy a-holes don't have to deliver it to your door,
leaving that package in the foyer without even notifying me that it was there, even after I wrote a note and SAID I WAS HOME is just unbelievable. What a passive aggressive little punk.
i'm told that there are fill in drivers on this route. Makes sense. Boy, good customer service is really hard to find these days. For sure.
I called to let UPS know just how fantastic their drivers are! Come to find out, this was even a different driver. Nice to know that they are consistent with their bad service.
Way to go, UPS! You just lost a customer, for life. And I'll be sure to spread the word on just how irresponsible your drivers are. Not that you care, BBB and social media, here I come."
"Writing this review after getting frustrated with UPS service, managed to mis-deliver 4 packages since Thanksgiving. 2 lost, 2 recovered. I have to mention, in this period or overall, absolutely no other carrier has mis-delivered or misplaced my packages.
In most recent delivery, the shipper didn't print apt number so instead of contacting the shipper, they got my old address from their database and sent it there. Good that I caught in time on tracking page otherwise even that order was gone. I mean, really how idiot can you be? Why would you redirect to an old address? Its old because I don't live there anymore, don't you guys get it?
Second pain is their myups section. I have been trying to register for ages but it gives me some kind or error. I reported it to them and they got me an IT guy. After trying for more than 30 mins, he gave up and told me that he will escalate the issue. Someone will contact me. After 3 months, nobody contacted me and I still can not register.
I wonder why this company should be in business. I use USPS as and when possible. I pay more but its so worth it."
"This UPS delivery service suck! They only deliver Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm. And they don't open at all on Saturday. During 9-5:30 normal working hours, how many people can be available waiting for the driver for the package, especially giving that UPS never can give a specific time range of delivery! They close so early that after 5:30pm you won't be able to pick up the package yourself. I work in San Francisco downtown and live in Millbrae, how could customer like me to meet their hours after I get off work at 5pm?? And what's even better that they don't open on Saturday at all! So you cannot even get up little earlier on weekend and pick up the package! OK, they do have the infamous re-route service to change the delivery destination. But wait, to have this service you have to pay a fee??!! Their explanation is because the driver has to take a different route. Hello?? What does your logistic department do for their job? AT A RESULT, UPS JUST LEAVES CUSTOMERS NO OPTION TO GET THEIR PACKAGE, WITHOUT BEING DOUBLE RIPPED!
Look at the major competitor, Fedex. All the centers I've used open on Saturdays. And they normally don't close on weekdays until 9pm or even 11pm. Also they reroute the package for FREE - because they understand their customers have paid the premium which includes their best effort of service!
Another major delivery service is USPS. All of the post offices open on Saturday. The bottom line there is at least an option after all, that they serve their customers to have the package.
