"Apart from UPS sending back something I might consider possibly vital (I'm being facetious, owning ferrets in Kentucky requires food shipped in from outside) , calling the "customer service" line was a joke. Not only did they transfer me to someone out of country, but all they did was offer excuses and block my suggested solutions (I offered to drive to get it and such).

The neighbour, being a good sort, let me put one of the two attempt slips they put on his door back on his door (signed so they could leave it without getting a body to sign it) as well as on my own should UPS decide to attempt to deliver it to the right place.

UPS decided they were going to try my place this time and put the final notice slip OVER the signed one (UPS version of a sick joke?) and return it to sender.

The service line only suggested that "maybe the driver didn't feel comfortable leaving the package" and that I could not go drive to a warehouse and pick it up. No offer to remedy the situation was given other than excuses and lame "I'm sorry" statements.

The company that sent it (Chewy.com, I'll advocate for them) had GREAT service and saw that their material was being sent back so sent a replacement the same day. Through the US Postal Service.

"I was supposed to receive a package back in June.My package, which contains an Iphone and a pair of expensive sunglasses, still have not been found.
UPS delivered it to the wrong address and has yet to retrieve it or refund me. I've been given the run around and they will not let me speak with a supervisor. They then closed my investigation because "I received my package". I did not receive it, the wrong address received it back in June.
It's now July 15th!!!
I will never ever use UPS again and my employer is switching to Fed ex after this.
AND I still don't have a refund for $15.56. REALLY??? They expect me to pay for something I never received.

"These guys (UPS) charge the most import fees to Canada of any carrier.

There fee schedule is non existent they just charge whatever they feel like no matter what the value or size of the shipment.

I bought a non working music stomp pedal the size of a bar of soap it's value is $80, I paid $18 for shipping and now they want almost $42 in import fees.

Also you have to write a cheque or money order to pay these fees because the drivers don't accept cash.

UPS is by far the worst, most expensive and unfriendly company I have ever run across.

People be ware! they are a rip off!!!

"One of the worst experiences i've had with a simple recieving of a package. To start off, i went to the location and asked to pickup my package;since i didnt call or do it online, (which wasnt working), they didnt allow me to take my package, which is foolish since i am already there and willing to take my own package. whatever, i went home, luckily i was off of work, stayed at home all day waiting. Nobody came so i give a call around 530pm they tell me the driver will be there soon. I call at 650-7pm they tell me the guy is running late and will be there soon. I call at 9 and same deal, "he'll be there soon, he's still out there." I call 1040pm, and was told they cant make deliveries at that time and that the other customer service before her had missinformed me! Foolish, i feel so stupid for having put up with there sh**!
My last time doing any type of business with UPS and now i have a hate so strong for these people.
My advice to everybody is to stick with FEDEX. When you go to pick up your package, they'll without a problem go to the truck and pick it out. If you are having similar issues, most times, they'll directly connect you to the driver to figure a solution. My point is that fedex WILL help you;legitely and will be real with you. No runarounds

"Absolutely horrid. The UPS company itself is not bad, but you should definitely hire some new drivers in Allen, TX who pay attention to detail and their surroundings. I live on the corner of my street in plain view with nothing blocking my house number, and MANY packages being delivered by UPS have been returned to the distributor because of my address being incorrect. I talked to one of your head reps and she googled my address and even said that she could plainly see everything from the street view and did not understand why he would have trouble seeing my house. IT IS IN PLAIN VIEW!

Also, I am highly upset that I was not called or emailed to be asked if my address was incorrect or for the driver to get better directions to my house. The package that I have been waiting for for two weeks is back in New Jersey and I have to wait even longer for it, because they did not call to make sure that everything was correct (which it was). I am highly disturbed and upset and will now pay attention to who the carriers are of my packages. I will not use UPS anymore.

"The worst service ever. When I received the item that was mine and it was returned to me from ebay it was damaged so I have called UPS, They advise me that they will come and pick it up so the next day they did. After they picked it up I have called the ups and was told that the next step is I will receive the item back and them I can make a claim. I noticed that the item is at south Il so I called to make sure that the item si coming back to me, they said yes and confirm that. After that I saw the item in California and they told me its considered lost. Then It went all the way to Conecticat even tho I was told I am the recepient.
Now the problem is that the item is mine and it was damaged and then delivered to the buyer address again ( wrong adress)
I have called so many times UPS and nobody wants to resolve my issue. The worst service ever. I will never use UPS again. If I knew this will happen I would never call Damage department because they took my item which is refrigirator and they send it back to wrong adress. Now I am without the item which worth 178 ( used) and they want me to make to print another label and pay for it.
I will write any possible letter to forums just so UPS will accept their responsibility and cover the damage and return the item to its owner from where it was picked up.

"The absolute worst service on the planet. They lost my very important 8 lb package that was luggage for a trip I was leaving for on Friday, it's Wednesday with an 8 day pending investigation. They told me they would work it out with the shipper and have the shipper work it out with me. Now I am being screwed into buying something expensive because of them because I have zero time! They also forced me to wait 24 hours to leave a lost package notice. 24 hours that allowed someone to steal my luggage. Slow, unreliable, and the worst customer service ever. If you are forced into using them give them a description of your house otherwise they will totally miss it. I thought fed ex was eh service but this takes the cake! At least fed ex tracks down your packages in a timely manner!"

"UPS started having more significant problems from late 2013. At least from my experience. Three missed/delayed or lost deliveries over the past 2 1/2 months. Only had about 10 deliveries so that is 30% failure rate.

Latest case, after a week of no updates, 2 hours before the delivery window, the status changed to unknown with package 2500 miles away with no ETA to deliver. Simply "check back later" as guidance.

Online tracking quality and frequency of updates has declined as well during this same period. It appears cost cutting efforts to increase profits are harming performance. By my experience USPS is still a slightly worse than UPS though. Also had problems with USPS over the past year. Before 2013 I rarely had an issue with any deliveries. I guess with more online shopping they are doing what they can to squeeze profit out of the higher volume. Unfortunately that sucks for forced customers.

I will use Fedex or another option whenever possible from now on. Unfortunately, you often don't get to choose who delivers your order. Hopefully some innovative and higher quality delivery company competition joins the market soon. These old dinosaurs just can't cut it any more.

"I have worked for UPS for decades. One thing that I can assure you of is that they treat their hourly employees like rubbish.

The employees can be fired for any dishonesty, but the Centre Manager and other supervisors lie on a regular basis.

They expect you to be PERFECT (and they monitor you more than you would believe), but they only honour our labour contract when it fancies them.

Management plays favourites. If you kiss up to them, they will give you preferential treatment, ignoring seniority. If you call out management for disregarding our labour contract, then watch out. Management will target you and threaten to fire you for small things that their sycophants and any number of other hourlies get away with.

In other words, if you file a labour grievance for something that MANAGEMENT purposely did wrong, then the Centre Manager will intimidate you by targeting you for discharge, thereby making an example out of you in an effort to scare others into never filing a grievance. Management through fear.

So the culture of management is intimidation, dishonesty, harassment, unfairness, favoritism and hypocrisy.

"I was waiting to receive a package from UPS they had done one attempt and I didn't even know I was suppose to get a package. I then waited the next day until about 6:45 and the package never came. When I returned home that night I had another attempt. I called customer service the next day to see if I could just pick the package up. The gave me a half an hour window at 8pm to pick it up. When I told them that there was no way I could get there at that time they told me my next best option was to pick it up Monday. The person on the phone seemed like they weren't even paying attention to a word I was saying. I then told them I wanted my package off the truck and I would be there Monday to get it. Now I just went out in this snow storm to get it and took time off work. I show up at UPS where they tell me the package is still on the truck and they will have someone contact me. I then call customer service back where they tell me that instead of taking it off the truck and placing it on hold then sent the package back to Georgia. The guy I spoke to at the UPS also knew when I went in there that it was sent back and lied to my face and told me it was just on the truck. I will be telling all my family about this and to not use UPS anymore. I am so shocked that this is how they run their business."

"I tried using UPS to ship to an FFL dealer near my house. Somehow they could not find the location, even though it was clearly listed on the shipping page. I called because the tracking number stated that they needed receiver information, and the person who took my call was almost offended. They then proceeded to return my package to sender, regardless of the information I gave them to help successfully deliver it. They are a terrible company and should be avoided at ALL costs. They do not care about their customers at all."
