"Had really problems to get UPS to hold a parcel. We first had the seller to agree to release the merchandise the same day as delivery was attempted.
Then I was supposed to get an message which I never got when I called UPS I had a very friendly agent who told me, that I will be called from the local UPS store. I asked for the local telephone number which I was told it was not available. I never got a call. Googling I found a local number and spoke with a very friendly agent.
Therefore my 2 stars, friendly staff but the organization is missing "organization"

"Too many problems with UPS.
Packages lost and broken. The sender is blamed for pakages being damaged. You really have to push UPS to reimberse for lost or broken pakages. I've been trying and hoping to get a better service without success. The throw packages and may even put a pallet on a smaller package and then say that is was not packed right or it seems like they had run over one of my pakages...:( :( :(

"They say they deliver by end of the day but show up early in the morning when Im at work. They ask for an info notice number at the 1-800 "under the barcode" but there is no barcode and no info notice number on the yellow sticker. Only the tracking number. Then I ask for a local drop off and they put a notice out to halt the home delivery for the package but wont tell me where the drop off is until home delivery has been stopped and package sent back to regional ship warehouse. Talk about half assed BS. Last time I was forced to use UPS which was ~8 years ago local drop off was 2 1/2 hours drive away. Ive avoided that nightmare outfit ever since. I wanted to know where the drop off is now BEFORE holding off on the home delivery. FFS is that so hard?"

"HORRIBLE!! i much rather go back and use man/horse aka pony express,that was at least mucjh more reliable..i received tracking updates and that my package is on schedule,thatn they tell you the computer does them and theyre not always actual scans!!!its a joke now i know why thet call it brown!@!its the same color as stuff u find floating in the toilet!!deont ever use if 6you are considering!!"

"Nothing but broken promises appears to be the UPS way. Back on 11/28 I had a Humidifier delivered that they had treated roughly and broken. I called and was told that once they contacted the shipper and verified the value they would get a check out to me. Fast forward to today, 1/17/13, I was wondering where my check was so I contacted UPS. I was told by customer service and a supervisor that they would only send a refund check to the shipper despite their original assurance that the replacement cost of the product would be sent to me originally. I was told since it was a low value item sending the check to me would not be a problem. I am very disappointed in the broken promises. As a former call center supervisor and QA manager I know their calls are recorded. It appears I will have to make a stop downtown and file a lawsuit against them for misrepresenting themselves. This whole experience has been terrible. "

"I am the receiver of a shipment. Ordered package on 12/25/2012. Merchant shipped and was expected for delivery on Jan 2, 2013. I am still waiting for my package to be delivered. The package is now considered lost. How does a shipping company loose a 22 pound package. Now they say I will have to wait another 8-10 days before delivery. I had confidence in UPS before but now I have to re-think that confidence in them.."

"These guys may be ok for domestic shipping. However, when it comes to international shipping, these guys are clueless. They dont understand taxation/ customs etc. They do not even bother to cross check with shipper "before" paying.

they will pay huge amounts and hold the receiver responsible. Customer support is a joke. they will keep tossing you between departments. Calling my experience as pathetic would be an understatement.

In my instance, they paid twice the required amount and then say they cannot revert it (no way they say). It feels like there exists a nexus between UPS and the customs guys.

"I sent my daughter an 80 lbs box from VA Beach, VA to Columbus, OH. It arrived today at my daughter's house only to find the box had been ransacked and a can of sardines smashed. You can only image the surprise when she opened the box and the smell!

I was totally disappointed especially since this was a birthday and Christmas box for my daughter.

I immediately call UPS and was advised since they did not package the box therefore they are not responsible. I was also told it was probably the "Seasonal Helper".

Don't you just love the holiday spirit.

"Horrible, horrible service. Lied several times that the package would be delivered in the next 15 minutes, in the next hour. By the end of day - but could not specify what it means. At he end did not deliver - apparently it was missed in their facility. These are bolts for winter tyres so I amstuck for another weak without winter tyres with blacl ice on."

"I have had multiple bad experiences with ups (lost packages, unreliable tracking) but the final straw was my last experience using ups- Paying about $350 I had my iMac computer & 46" TV wrapped and shipped (separate boxes) from NY to California. When the packages arrived, the screen of my imac was SHATTERED and the corner of my tv broken. The boxes themselves were crumpled and had holes where the shipping peanuts were falling out. (!!) I bet even ups employees don't use their company services to ship valuable items, knowing what kind of treatment packages get throughout the shipping process.

Do NOT use UPS shipping services, unless you want your items to get lost or BROKEN.

"They dont leave notices of their delivery attempts, the only way u can find out is by going online, and then if u need to find a package they ask you for the number given by the failed attempt delivery.
they give a very expensive package to the wrong person now dont take responsibility and the package is basically lost.
they lost a 400$ package as they gave it to USPS and left again no tracking number for that.
they dont accommodate people that work 9-5 and if u need them to deliver to different address they charge you extra.

"I have mixed feeling about UPS (mostly Ground). UPS is a company that tends to lack at everything from customer service - delivering, from lost packages - delivery excuses ("exceptions"). UPS is a pretty risky and expensive shipping company. I recommend USPS or FedEx. Read other reviews for bad experiences because I haven't had any....YET."

"After not receiving an overnighted package on Friday (I was not home so driver left a note on my door saying it would be delivered Monday, fair enough), my husband stayed home all day to make sure he could sign for it on Monday. On Friday the driver was "nice" enough to come up to the third floor where my apartment is and leave the note, on monday not even a knock a call, nothing.

My husband heard the truck drive away and no package. Instead he went downstairs to find a note saying delivery was attempted and nobody was home, a blatant lie. If the driver had come up the elevator he would have found my husband waiting at the door.

Anyway, that is not the worst part when he contacted UPS he was told that if the driver was able he would come back later. They would confirm within the hour. One hour passed and nobody had contacted him. He called back and they told him that he would for sure not be able to come back.

Being that it was my passport I was extremely upset when I came home and contacted UPS myself. I explained my situation and how the regular driver always gets into the building and manages to drop off packages even when the buzzer is broken. NO EXCUSE for what the driver did basically. I said if I dont get my passport which i need by the night I will be filing an official complaint against him.

They somehow managed to get the driver and he said he would drop it off. It was a different driver that said he had to go look for the first one to pick up the package. We got the passport at 5pm (instead of 10am) finally, in the knick of time. Issue solved right? I was happy with their response but kind of upset that I had to get angry with them to get anything done.

Well today, 3 weeks later I get a lecture from the second driver????? WHAT???????? "You're the one that complained huh?".... Me: "Not about you" ( he is the regular guy)...... him: "Still you dont complain"..... Really??? so you guys can keep doing a shitty ass job without consequences?
I should have said that but I was in shock I was getting lectured by a UPS driver.

Then he says "your maiden name isnt even on the directory" .... as i said before the buzzer has been broken before and they still manage to knock on my door, it might have my maiden name but my Apartment number and first name are still on there and he managed to make it all the way up the friday prior. Again all of these things should have been said but I was in shock.

He then leaves and sarcastically says "thanks, Smith" (My married name) what an ass!!!! ughhhhhhhh oh and to top it all off the packages today were for my husband and they did not requiere a signature but he still asked for one. These people are full of excuses and not only that, they are rude!!!

I was in shock until now so had to vent here, unfortunately when I came to my senses and realized I did nothing wrong he was gone and I couldn't throw him my two cents. He obviously came with a mission to confront me about "complaining" even though in the end I didn't file a complain because I got my passport which is all I wanted. never ordering from them again good old post office is the way to go.

Maybe he'll come back and yell at me for this one too........

"Once again UPS has "lost" our aircraft parts. Every person I have talked to has been full of excuses but not a single solution. In fact, they can't even figure out WHERE MY PACKAGE IS, even though it was scanned into their Houston facility on Friday at 12 noon. It is now Tuesday. Customer service Deanna put a manager, Victor, on the phone. He can't even get an answer from the Houston facility. Customer service at corporate headquarters, Aaron, put on Lori?, another supervisor. Yep, more apologies and lots of excuses. NOBODY AT UPS seems to know who scanned my package in or where it went. I cannot understand how a company does not know which employee scanned the package at their facility, or how they could not know what packages are on their trucks. I call BS. These packages are scanned via handheld trackers which are carried by the drivers, so ALL PACKAGES are electronically accounted for. Between the lost parts, damaged and beaten packages, and the complete lack of ANY sort of knowledge within their company in this issue, UPS has lost my business for good. They will not answer my questions so that I can update my customer, but rather they will call my vendor and update them, then my vendor is expected to stop what they are doing and call me to let me know what UPS is doing, so I can in turn let my customer know the status. What a big, aggravating loophole for everyone BUT UPS to have to deal with. My vendor did their part, they shipped my package and do not need to be stuck in the middle of UPS' screw up. Time for companies to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY when they mess up."
