"I recently purchased a Denon AVR-590 receiver from U.S. Appliance. The price was among the lowest I found online ($300) and the reviews here on RR were mostly positive. The receiver was delivered nearly two weeks later in good condition via FedEx. During the time between my order and delivery I contacted them three times via email. In general, the associates were helpful albeit slow to respond to my inquiries. Although there were never any problems with my delivery, I never got a particularly good feeling about the transaction. There was always a nagging feeling that I was dealing with an operation that was second-rate in terms of service. Another issue that concerned me somewhat is that they charged my credit card when my order was processed, not when it shipped. In other words, I paid for the product and then waited for over a week wondering when, if ever, the product would ship. It was not a comfortable transaction.

In summary, the transaction took a while to complete, but went through without any substantial problems. I doubt I will order from US Appliance again. There are more reliable and communicative companies out there, and saving 5% is not always worth the worry.

"Ordered a 55 inch LED TV from these guys at a discount that was too good to be true - so was a bit skeptical. However, I placed the order on Friday and it shipped the next week. I received a waybill and tracking number notification of shipping and was immediately able to track the order. Was a little disappointed when the shipping company delivery estimate was 14 days but then, later that week, they called and asked to make arrangements for delivery. WOW - that was really great service."

"I purchased a 52 inch Sony Bravia LCD HDTV and it was a fantastic experience. I received prompt answers to questions by email and a quick return call to place the order. US Appliance honored their 110% low price guaranty so I got the best price, and I received shipping info by email so that I could track. The TV arrived when promised with a phone call 24 hours in advance to arrange delivery. Nothing could have been done better."

"Was very weary about buying from them after reading all the reviews but you can't beat saving $600.00 (which is a 4th of the price!) on a brand new plasma television.

I called to make my order because I wanted to split the payment. The salesman was pretty nice. Felt like he was rushing me but that's not a big deal.

I ordered on a Friday and they shipped it on Monday, so not too bad. Now the shipping company is where the bad comes in. They got the TV from Michigan to the local warehouse near me on the Wed after the TV was shipped which was also really good. Than I get a call from them to make an appointment for delivery but they wouldn't do it any earlier than the next Monday! A whole 5 days of waiting just to get the TV from their Warehouse to my house 20 minutes away. So I called and asked if I could pick it up instead and they said I could which was really cool of them. If you are unfortunate enough to live very far from their warehouse than I would try to stay away from them as a shipping company unless you don't need/want your merchandise asap.

Overall my experience with US-Appliance was really really good. Can't beat their prices anywhere on the net and the service was pretty darn good too.

"We ordered a Panasonic TC-P54V10 and overall everything went great! Ordered it on the 18th and it arrived on the 25th (I live in Northern California). I'm not sure why the other reviewer stated that they didn't get an email regarding the shipping status, but we did receive an email that allowed us to track the status of the shipment on the shipper's website (R+L Carriers). The day before the delivery date we called the carrier, as per instruction, and scheduled them to deliver the TV sometime from 11am-1pm. They actually showed up exactly at 11am, it was fantastic!

Actually the only hiccup we had was when the truck showed up and the delivery guy didn't have a dolly to bring it into the house. I mean, how do you not have a dolly and your job is to deliver stuff? Anyway, the TV made it safely into the house undamaged and without any other issue.

Overall, great TV, the lowest price I could find anywhere, and no compromise in service. I would definitely buy from them again.

"I ordered a BluRay player for my grandfather for Father's Day. The order was placed on June 15, the order didn't ship until June 22. That's a big problem in my opinion. How does it take 6 days to ship an order? Also I was suppose to get a tracking number when it shipped, but that never happened. I had to call.

On the plus side, the two times I called I got a friendly person immediately who was able to help me. However, this is not enough and I probably won't be shopping at US Appliance in the future.

"I'm currently out 4 grand ....

I ordered 4K worth of kitchen appliances. I fully understood that the appliances wouldn't be delivered in 5 days. I get it.

But when i noticed my credit card got charged, i assumed the items were being shipped. When i called to ask for the shipping date, they told me that the items were not shipped yet. But how can you charge a credit card, when you have no idea when the items are coming in.

When i asked why they charge my credit card immediately, they responded "thats how we do it". When i asked if they had a confirmed shipping date, something at all ... they said "we do not because it is a special order". When i asked what made it a special order, they said "because we don't have the item in stock".

So they don't carry the items in stock, ok i understand that also. But why would i pay for items i haven't received, nor have even been shipped? What if it takes 3 months? When I asked why i was paying 4K without even knowing that my goods were being shipped, or what timeframe i could expect them (could it be 3 months?), they said "you can either 1) choose to wait, or 2) cancel and pay a 15% restocking fee" (on items that haven't even shipped yet?!). the rudeness which i was treated was unprecedented for me.

As of this time, i am out 4K and have no confirmed ship date for my appliances. None at all. Basically, i have provided them an interest free loan, and they will ship "whenever". Do not order here. Pay a little more and avoid the headaches ...

"It was with extreme reluctance that I hit the send button on my computer after ordering a Panasonic TH-65z850U Television from US Appliance. Frankly I had read so many positive and negative comments about virtually every internet retailer that I had no idea what I was getting myself in to by placing the order over the internet.
Once I placed the order US appliance emailed and told me that I needed to to verify with my credit card company a "ship to" address (which was my fault for not doing in the first place). A couple days later they told me when it would be shipped (which it was). I tracked the item from R & L carriers and it came to my door exactly two weeks from the day I ordered.
There isn't a negative thing I can say about the manner in which US appliance handled the transaction. Although I could have gotten the TV quicker if I went to Best Buy I would not have had the oppurtunity to save 32% on the price. Having to wait a week for that kind of savings is a no-brainer for me.

"I purchased a 42" Panasonic plasma 1080p 5/18/09. I purchased on price, free shipping, and sales tax. I purchased from Howard, no hard sell or adders. I purchased on Friday and on Tuesday the following week I received an emaail that the TV was delivered to Pilot air the shipping company. I also received the invoice. I was able to track the shipment online. It took about a week, and a call to Pilot Air, but the TV was delivered on the back of a delivery truck. The driver carried it on a hand truck and delivered it to the garage. This is key because you pay extra if you want it delivered into the house. The packaging was in good shape, I unpacked and installed it myself.

I found US Appliance to be reputiable and service professional. The caviot is that my TV arrived undamaged. My fear with the internet is that you are spending a grand and what happens when you have a problem.... That's the risk reward you play when not purchasing from a "brick amd motar" company like Best Buy.

Like one of the previous reviews, I am going to document my experience with US-Appliance in a chronological order, as the events take place. Hopefully my experience will help those who are also in process of making the same decision.

Background:

After much consideration, I decided to purchase my new plasma online, but from whom?

I researched all of the usual etailers; Amazon, Buy.com, Newegg, but the cost savings at each of these sites was not that significant as compared to purchasing at a retail B&M (Best Buy). So i looked deeper; ClevelandPlasma.com (very popular in the AVSForum threads), and got creative; TigerDirect (competitive pricing if you utilize Microsoft’s live cashback program), yet after shipping, each of these sites were about on par with the previous etailers.

I then can across a thread on AVSForum.com that mentioned US-Appliance as a low cost provider so I decided to investigate further. I ran Google searches, read reviews, and of course checked reselleratings.com, but the end result was inconsistent feedback. Some people loved them while others wouldn't touch them with a 10' pole.

I debated for a day or two about where to order from, but finally decided to give US-Appliance a try, after reading two newly updated reviews on reselleratings.com. Reviewers ‘Jeffs386’ and ‘corgidog59’ detailed positive experiences while purchasing plasma televisions from US-Appliance. So I rolled the dice, placed my order, and am now waiting to see the results.

Here is my experience thus far (in chronological order):

April 13th, 2009:

Placed order for Panasonic TC-P42G10 ($1,029) at approx. 9:00 am.
I immediately received an order confirmation email (step 1 of the order fulfillment process) but no sale sales receipt invoice.


April 14th, 2009:

I Called US-Appliance customer service (1-***-***-****) at approx. 1:00 pm to ensure that my order had indeed been placed. A very kind and helpful woman (she called me sweety) answered the phone immediately (caught me off-guard as I was expecting an automated system). I explained to her that I was simply calling to check that my order had been placed. She asked for my phone number, I gave it to her, and she pulled up my order within about 30 seconds. She stated that my order was being processed and that I should be receiving a sales receipt invoice via email (step 2 or the order fulfillment process) by the end of today.


April 15th, 2009:

I received my sales receipt invoice this morning via email at approx. 9:00 am. In addition to providing the sales invoice, the email also stated that the shipping company would be contacting me seperately, once the item had been processed for shipment. However, there was no mention of who the carrier is, so I will simply have to wait patiently.


April 16th, 2009:

Today I received an email from US-Appliance at approx. 1:00 pm stating that my plasma has shipped and that the carrier will be contacting me to arrange delivery! The carrier is 'Pilot' (http://www.pilotair.com). Once they contact me I will update status.

US Appliance did everything in a very professional manner not only was the price the best I could find but the service was stellar
I will buy from these guys again for sure

UPDATE:I noticed on the website that the price had dropped on the plasma tv that I had already received,I called USAppliance and asked if I could get the lower price(not really expecting much since I had already received this tv)to my surprise they immediately credited my debit card the difference($70)
I believe anyone can treat a customer well BEFORE a sale but these guys really do strive to give total satisfaction even after

>Called them Tuesday, 3/31 to check status, oops they forgot to process my order. I was told that it will ship out Friday, 4/3
>OK, called Friday, 3 April to find out it shipped on Wednesday, 1 April. They gave me a tracking number. My confidence in US Appliance has improved. Therefore, I will up my overall evaluation 1 place. George, the salesmen, has been very good to deal with.
>On Monday, 4/6/09, I discovered that US Appliance had dropped their price for the TC-P42G10 to $1,099. I emailed them right away and asked for a refund for the difference between what I paid and what it is going for right now. Boom! they gave it to me no questions asked. Mind you, I still have not received my TV yet. I expect it to arrive later this week or first thing next week. So as a result of their prompt respond to my email, I will amend my evaluation one more time to reflect their great customer service.

"The store had listed PN50A550, and on the store site didnt really say anything like backordered or outofstock. Many people ordered, and mostly all of them got a cancellation email, after they were able to successfully place their orders. This is not really good ethics. Really upset with the store, and the way they sell. They need to modify their systems radically. "

"At first I thought this was going to be a reputable online seller. It had a good rating and was an authorized seller of Samsung Tv's. However, unlike most reputable and trustworthy retailers, they will accept orders, send confirmations, and then CANCEL your order and tell you it was because they are no longer in stock. If they're not in stock, how come they allowed me to complete my order? Their good prices are just a gimick to get their name out in my opinion."

"I was initially skeptical to order a large plasma HDTV over the internet, especially from a seller I had never dealt with before. I searched and searched and found mostly positive reviews from the other buyers about us-appliance.com on popular reseller rating sites. I decided to take the plunge since the super-bowl special price they had was really good and beat all the other websites and local stores by a margin. To top it all, they even had free shipping!

Ordering was as flawless as it can get; shipped the next business day; emails kept me informed of the status along the way; shipment was readily trackable with good detail. I should mention that they used R&L carriers and the tracking info and service were excellent. The final leg delivery was scheduled through a call, the guy was very nice to call ahead to narrow down the typical 4 hour window for me, so I could get home from work. He even helped me bring it in, which is not what I expected! He even waited for me to open the box and ensure everything was fine.

Glad to say, I am enjoying my 46" Panasonic plasma and thanking us-appliance (and the carrier) for a good deal and even greater buying experience! Thank you!
