"A+ Company, quick delivery and a quality computer system at a good price."
"Wow, here we go. United Micro, in one word, SHAM. I don't even know where to start. I ordered a MB/CPU/RAM combo from these guys back in December, Biggg Mistake. First of all, it took two weeks for the package to get to me, after installation in my brand new case/powersupply, Everything seemed to be going fine till I tryed installing Windows XP. Blue Screen of Death! Tons and Tons of errors, including IRQL not less or equal to and the dreaded Page fault in non paged area. Obviously this was a ram issue, so I booted up memtest86 and tested the ram, and it finished with a 86% pass rating and atleast a dozen errors. So I call them up and they offer to replace it, but I have to pay shipping. Great! So, I send it to them priority mail, 10 days later, I receive another stick of memory.
Holy Crap, I have NEVER seen a stick of memory so corrupt! It wouldn't boot windows, it wouldn't install windows, and when i ran memtest, it came up with HUNDREDS of errors. It ended with a 37%! pass rating. I couldn't beleive they sent me a stick even worse than the last one, obviously this was refurbished crapware. So I call them again, and to the support guy's astonishment, no less. He assures me that he will send a new stick and test it himself before it ships. Of course, I get to pay shipping again. So, because i'm moving, I tell him on the phone not to send it to my old address, but to my new one. He tells me to write the new one as the return address when I ship. Ok. I do as he instructed, 2 weeks later, still no memory at my new place. I call them, only to find that they sent it to the OLD address. What?! Are these guys that incompatant? Keep reading...
So I have my friend relay the package up to my new address, I get it, in 3 days. (And shipping was only 3 dollars... Go Figure!) Only to find out that, once again, its a BAD stick. Infact, the stick almost had the exact same error addresses, so i'm inclined to beleive this one may have been the original stick they sent me! Great buisness practice, eh?
So, I give these guys another call, This is the fourth time about one, SINGLE, stick of memory. I get the same Tech support guy that I usually get, so I think these guys only have maybe a halfdozen techs for the whole company. Back to the point, this guy was outright rude, just as usuall. I inform him of the sticks failure, he replys, "thats impossible, sir. We tested it, and it came up fine, as did the last stick".
What? The last stick? This is when I knew these guys were crooks, the last stick, as I said, was the single most corrupt stick of ram I have ever seen, and this dude has the gaul to tell me it tested perfectly fine. Wow. So at this point, 2 months later, I am fed up. So I ask for a refund, he says no, its too late. Ok, then I want a new stick of ram and i want it to WORK this time. He tells me that he will do it, but if it ,"tests fine" like, "the last one did." then he will not do it again and the return shipping will also be my expense.
That last conversation just happened today. I would not reccomend United Micro to a single soul, these guys are scam artists and their Tech support know nothing, and do nothing besides belittle and badger you for calling in their defective products. I'm supposed to send them my entire combo this time, but I'm not sure if i'm even gonna bother, I know its the memory, and I'm afraid if I send them the whole thing they will just keep it and i'll never see a penny back.
Take my advice, spare yourself the time and anger, order from a different company."
"Very Good to do bussiness with. Fast delivery, best price.Highly recomend."
"Purchased a barebones system and upon arrival it immediatedly had problems. Returned system per RMA and the cpu was replaced.(supposedly) date- 10/6 System returned with the same problem. I sent the system back a second time, and after numerous unanswered phone calls the system was once again returned and the only thing they had done was a 15 min. burn in test...lol that was on 11/24. Of course the system still had same problem. I replaced the motherboard at my own expense and sent he processor back per RMA. They called and said they couldnt get the 2800+ cpu that I originally had and that I could upgrade for $40.00 to a 3200.. At this point I was thinking I would be lucky to get anything. I sent them $40.00 and I received a 2800 cpu. These guys are nothing but a bunch of crooks and cons. They wont answer phone calls or emails.Beware or you will get burned!!"
"Good price, shipped quickly and the dvdrw worked fine. I also ordered a barebones system last November and had the same experience."
"I cancelled my order with United Micro this morning after being given the run around for the past two weeks. When I ordered my system, there was no mention that the motherboard was out of stock. I emailed them after five days of waiting to be told it was on back order, but they'd be happy to change it to a different model. I emailed them back again to ask what was available and never received a response. I called the next day and got a very under-enthused sales person who didn't even offer to swap out the motherboard. I emailed again yesterday and received the same canned 'It's out of stock, but we can replace' email. Given that all of this had left a bad taste in my mouth, I called and cancelled this morning. The only good thing about the experience was that they had yet to charge to my card."
"Finally got my item 4 weeks late. I ordered the item off of Ebay on an auction from New Mexico and it arrived in three days. This company is based in Ohio and I am in Michigan, yet it took 4 weeks because "we are out of stock, as is our supplier". No problems with it but very unhappy about the customer service reps and the helplessness they provided for me. Gave up on calling and just waited it out. I wouldn't buy from them again, the website is unreliable and not in real-time stockwise and the customer service people hate to deal with people.
------------------------------------------------
Extremely horrible service, my item has not been shipped and it is three weeks later. They claim it is out of stock and has been for those three weeks, but the website has shown for the past three weeks that it was in stock."
"Ordered on a Motherboard on Saturday. They took the money on Monday. Today is the following Friday after e-mailing them a few days previously. They had not e-mailed more then the initial order confirmation. When we called they said it would be another 2 weeks, and that it was on back-order. Went to the web site, and would have been able to order another under the perception of even somewhat timely service. Needles to say we cancelled the order. We understand that sometimes Demand out ways supply, but we did not feel as though it very Honest at all. On a lighter note the Customer Service Reps were as friendly as one could expect, but you have to wonder why they don't get a job with a better company. Never had a worse experience with an e-retailer. All I can say is I hope our money is returned without having to press the issue. They have already taken longer to return it then they did to take it. All I can say is uuuuuuuugggggggggggggg!"
"At the moment, I have an order outstanding. UnitedMicro has told me that they would ship it in "1-2 business days" and it has now been 12 days since my order went out.
I have sent 2 e-mails to them and as yet received no reply.
This company needs to get their act together. Until they do, don't buy from them. Heck, before you buy from them, call them up and ask them if they've stopped their bad-service policy. "
"DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
This is probably the single WORST company I have ever dealt with. Their website states 1-2 days processing time on component orders. My order took THREE WEEKS total time for Processing, and SECOND DAY shipping. I had ordered a motherboard, AMD XP2800 Barton, and ThermalTake Volcano 9. The Customer Service representative called me the afternoon AFTER my order had shipped to notify me that they had run out of the motherboard I had ordered and had instead mailed out a different board. When the order finally arrived the only thing that worked was the fan! The board and chip were dead! I called UnitedMicro for weeks and was offered no assistance. I was hung up on numerous times, placed on hold for an hour at a time and argued with. Luckily, the motherboard manufacturer, Asus, is kind enough to help me get the motherboard repaired. However, It looks like I'm out the cost of a processor because AMD is unable to RMA mine. Thanks A Lot UnitedMicro. I hope to see your business go under. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY."
"Customer service was a joke, its been nearly two weeks, and after repeated emails I finally get one with a brief explanation....your purchase will ship tomorrow....thats it. I will never order from this company again, there is no reason things shoul;d take this long ! WARNING they have a bad rating with the better business bureau, if you couldnt tell by the 5 out of 10 rating here. they are cheap, but if it means you have to sacrifice customer service, forget it. it still hasnt shipped, and when it does it will still be another week b4 I get it....this place is a frustration best avoided."
"I ordered a few days ago, expecting shipment and reception of the merchandise (as noted on their site) within four days -- this included the 1-2 days for standard processing, and two day shipping. After four days, the order isn't even "in the system", whatever that means, and my main requirement (an on time shipment) is lost.
It's cheaper at newegg, anyways. Don't buy from unitedmicro."
"I purchased a high-end custom PC and because of this it had to be handled via telephone. No confirmation of any kind was offered so that I would know that what I ordered is what I would receive. It arrived with a substitute DVD burner than what I ordered. The LED's for the power indicator and HDD activity were not functioning and I found them both connected in reverse. The front fan was not connected. upon complaining to Tech support I was informed that there was no polarity on an LED which suggests that tech support is less than knowledgable. The system wireing was messy. I ordered an enermax system monitor (a combo fan speed, media reader, temperature readout) of which nothing but the led's and aux USB jacks were connected up. to make matters worse there was no manual included so I could not hook it up. After several calls and false promises they finally sent me a manual for the system monitor and after several hours I connected it up myself. Only a fraction of the software that came with the hardware was loaded. There were other negative issues. I would not purchase from this company again!"
"I recently placed on order at United Micro for a Gainward Ultra/2400, which was supposedly in stock. After I placed the order, I sent an e-mail two days later to make sure the card was in stock. I recieved an e-mail the next day assuring me it was. When I called them, they said they hadn't had any of these cards in, but they did cancle my order with ease. I was pretty upset, but happy that the cancelation went over well. My advice to you, call first."
"Great site, took care of me only complaint is they answer their emails slow, but that can happen"
