"I found this company on Ebay and decided to give them a try. Their prices are excellent. Their shipping is very very slow, AS ADVERTISED. They do take 5-6 business days for Barebone systems. They still haven't shipped mine as yet but I am on my 5th business day. I hope they ship it no later than tomorrow."
"Bought from this company several times using their on-line ordering. Highly recommend, quick service. Product arrived as advertised and well packaged. Good price too."
"3 words for these guys... RUDE RUDE RUDE...
I ordered a case and dvd burner on 6/2 at 5PM PDT. The next morning 6/3, I sent an email to cancel and also left a voice mail with this guy at x222 that I wanted to cancel. This was all done within 24 hours. Today 6/5 I spoke with this rude jerk at x222 and he said it was boxed up and there would be a 4% charge. What the? No way it was boxed up and ready to ship within 24 hours. I told him to go ahead a be a jerk and charge me and I will file fraud with credit card company. If they square me up, I will update my review, but as of now, DON'T ORDER FROM THESE CLOWNS!

UPDATE 6.7.2004
I sent an email to a manager there and received a message back that I would receive a FULL refund. Just wanted to give the update that they did step up and do the right thing.

"Ordered a mobo/cpu combo on Thursday (site says 1-2 days to shipping). Called Monday and told will be ready to ship Wednesday. Called Wednesday and told it will definitely ship Thursday .... well after s/w Sales Dept it was shipped today (Friday).
First time I have dealt with unitedmicro.com and not real impressed with customer service nor the sales dept but giving them the benefit of the doubt. I will reserve my final comments until after receiving and testing of mobo/cpu combo ...
... not 1-2 days to shipping as the site says. Actually 10 days order to door. The mobo/cpu with heatsink/fan attached arrived well packaged and with all cables, manuals etc. Cannot say if this was actually tested an/or burnt in but it did work fine and I did a 24 hour burn in any way.
Replaced the generic aluminum heatsink/fan that came with the P4 2.8Gh 800MHz FSB Prescott CPU with a COOLERMASTER ISB-V73 AR4 Copper heatsink/fan. Also used Artic Silver thermal compound. Both these items were purchased from newegg.com 3 days after the unitedmicro.com order and arrived 3 days before it.
When speaking with unitedmicro sales dept I found they had absolutely no idea when or where the order was within their system and did not seem to really care either.
PROS
Excellent price
Well packaged
CONS
Extremely slow order to ship time
Sales dept has almost nil customer service but were available when called.
Would I buy parts from them again.? Probably not, newegg.com's customer service and quick turn around times cause less aggrivation."
"Purchased 3 Items Only recieved 2. Called them and never got back to me about problem. After waiting almost 2 weeks I sent the Items back They refunded me the Items (2) I sent back and said they would not refund the Items I didn't recieve. So I got charged for an Item I never recieved. Off to court we go...
DO NOT PURCHASE FROM UNITED MICRO PERIOD!"
"RMA# 020593R - I have been dealing with this company for five years. Price made up for lack of customer care. This company does not put its customers first. I returned this RMA back to United Micro on Febuary 5, 2003. It was a high grade 512MB Memory Module valued at about $150.00 I submitted my RMA request in writing with my new address. The part was sent to my old address of nearly a year ago. The part was signed for and lost by the incorrect party. I called to notify United Micro that I never recieved my part back and they proceeeded to tell me that I failed to both notify them in WRITING and ON THE PHONE of my new address. I did in fact do both accordingly but United Micro absolutely refused to take responsibility for their screw up. In fact, the Tech Support Supervisor (as he called himself, who knows if it was ever true or not) treated me in a completely humiliating way. He said it was MY fault for them sending it to the wrong address. I sent a defective part to them in GOOD FAITH, how is this MY FAULT? He then replied that, "I had failed to make it clear of my new address." My reply to him was simply: How MUCH clearer can you get than IN WRITING? The court systems of the entire planet utilize and depend upon WRITING(S) as a clear form of communication. Not sure what the guys name was...or what planet HE was from...he is not the one with the accent in Tech Support, but the one that does not have any accent. After years of reletively poor service and consistently slow delivery times (Ten days PLUS on every order via UPS to ABQ) I have decided to stop doing business with them. They have been regressing, rather than progressing with their customer service. I think that it is the right of any citizen of the USA to be able express their opinions of a company they did business with, on the World Wide Web. Creating a web site that counters a company that has treated someone (or MANY)wrongly is simply an expression of Free Speech. People everywhere should know what kind of company this is. I will help to convey the point in whatever way possible allowed to me under Free Speech legislation. In my opinion, If you want a terrible experience, go to www.unitedmicro.com! If the company ever faces up to their mistake and makes good on their responsibility, I will gladly post here..."
"Ordered a Ricoh DVD+/-R drive, and got a SONY!!! SCORE!!! I realize people have had problems with United Micro but I never have. A+ transaction."
"This is my first computer purchase from these guys, it was a 90% amd xp 2500+, asus board, all it was missing was a video card (I had one). Computer arrived extremely well packed, case it very well made, installation of components was very well done (nicely tied, neat).
I am very satisfied and will order from them again.

"Placed two seperate orders for Giga Byte GA-7VT600 1394 Mother Boards, called two days later to check status of order, was told at first that they could not check status of Web orders. Then I was told would be two more days before shipped. Called back about 1 hour later to cancel because I needed them sooner. Was told again that they could not check web orders, told them I wanted to cancel the orders, was told I needed to do it on the web site, No place on the web site to cancel an order. They finally ttold to hold on while they checked. Came back and told me that the Motherboard had been disconntinued and I would need to pick a different one. Funny, On GigaBytes website, it is listed as a new product. They finally said they would cancel the order, Have been checking the site, but it still says the orders are active. Just hope I have not been charged or if I have, that I get a credit."
"Fast shipping,great price.Great product.

"i ordered a barebone from them. the motherboard wasn't working, so i sent it back. i did have to pay for the shipping, but they fixed it and sent it back in one week. i'm pretty satisfied with them, it was an ok deal."
"I purchased a Nu Tech DDW-081 DVD+RW recorder from United Micro. The unit I received was defective (would not recognize any media) and I had to RMA the unit. United Micro issued the RMA without any hassle and promptly shipped a repalcement unit that does work properly. I, too, have read the negative comments posted about United Micro. My only complaint is that I had to pay for shipping to return the defective unit, but then again that is standard with almost all resellers. I can only comment on my experience with them, which was a good experience. The true test of a reseller is how they resolve a problem with defective products. In my case, United Micro handled it promptly and properly and they should be given praise for doing so. I will buy from them again with confidence based on this experience."
"delivered just as promised in a timely fashion. I odered a DVD drive."
"Technical Support was accessible, however, solutions to the problem have not been provided. The computers overheated and shut off automatically after only 1 day of being on. The video card flickers about ever 1 to 2 minutes. The MOBO was A7N8X-X, video card was NV90 64MB MX440 DDR TV-OUT, XP 2400+. Last week, the tech though it may be the power supply, but he didn't have time to test it. Furthermore, the defective parts in both of the PC's we ordered seems to be the normal level of quality United Micro uses. It appears the entire computer was made out of factory seconds (even the case had flaws, bent railings). The low price is NOT worth such lower grade components. I now look bad at work for buying from United Micro. "
"I bought a GEFORCE FX 5600 256 MB TV & DVi & DRX 9 from this company. Item arrived very fast and works excellent! I'm very impressed with my service. Thanks United Micro."
