"My experience with Velocity Micro was pleasant from beginning to end. Selecting and upgrading my system of choice was very easy. The process was well laid out. When I received my PC it was well packaged and all the contents were nice and organized. Last but not least, my system runs like a dream! "
"I ordered a Velocity Micro z95 with several upgrades. I ordered from this company because of their claim of providing an excellent computer build. However when it arrived the graphics card had not been installed properly and it was allowed to bang around inside the computer case during the two day shipping. They promised to replace the card, however now they do not respond to emails.
I'm sure this doesn't happen all the time, but it sure did happen to me.
I guess quality control took the day off.
UPDATE: Received the new graphics card, however, no return label or RMA number, so I'm not sure how to return the old card. It's been 48 hours after my email request for both, no answer....
Update: Graphics card has been returned and it was replaced with EVGA gtx760... very nice. Thank you at Velocity.
Two things they need to change, but probably won't at Velocity, include customer service and quality control. I think every who reads these post will agree that a graphics card should never have left unsecured to the motherboard. I think everyone will agree that when I made them aware of the issue, just moments after its arrival at my door, that Velocity should have taken care of the problem faster. Ignoring customer emails doesn't make the problem go away, it just makes your customers go away.
Their sales department was excellent, let them train the service people on how to do a job right.
Things I do like. The computer is wired to perfection, the interior of the case looks so clean and well built. Its has not crashed once, and I use it twelve, or more, hours a day. They use only retail parts, and you gotta love that. Its so quiet I thought something was wrong, but it wasn't. Its just that quiet.
This was my first custom PC, I was an avid Apple user, until now. I spent about $2600 to get a good entry level gaming PC. To compare to my other hobbies that’s about what I spent for my first nice mountain bike. My second mountain bike cost about twice as much, and I anticipate spending that much on my next PC when the time comes. Will I spend it at Velocity Micro? That has yet to be determined. I will keep watching the post here over the next few months to see what others are saying about Velocity. However, when 16% of your customers are leaving negative ratings, one and two star reviews, then I think they need to seriously look into the problem.

Well that time has come, and no I won't be shopping with Velocity. And my new PC is vast upgrade over the first one. Hopefully your quality control is better now, but I'm not gonna risk it. I can't wait to see my new Aventum X!"
"I normally do not give reviews on web sites, but when I came across Velocity Micro I had to write one. I usually build my computers because I do want just anything just off the shelf. I did not have the time to build a computer, but I knew for the most part what I wanted in my new system. I came across Velocity Micro. I contacted the company and talked to a sales representative named Mark Logan. Mr. Logan worked with me for several days on getting me the right system. He was very informative and patient with my different requests. After I had ordered the system, I could not wait for it to arrive. I was concerned about the build and the shipping. When the new system arrived, I was very happy with the build and the shipping. Velocity Micro did an outstanding job on the packaging. I was amazed how well the computer was packed and secured in the shipping box. The company even had instructions on how to unpack the computer. I unpacked the system and was pleased to see how clean and tidy the cables were placed and not cluttered like some other systems. The computer started right up and with no problems. Velocity Micro did an outstanding job and I was very pleased with Mark Logan. I also had a chance to talk to their support staff. Joseph helped on several questions I had about the new computer build and was very helpful and knowledgeable. If anyone is looking for a quality computer with superior service, then they should look at Velocity Micro. I want to thank all the people at the company who had a hand in building this system for me. If this computer lasts as long as I think it will, then I think my computer building days are over and I will be contacting them in the future for a new build. "
“Thanks for the review. We appreciate your business!”
"I've had my PC for about 10years bow and its going strong, and im getting another one soon. their friendly customer service is always there to help you through anything big or small."
"Bought my first Velocity Micro Desktop in 2011 and it is still in use today (2018). I have purchased at least 6 or 8 more machines from them personally and recommended dozens more to clients, friends, and family. Every one of them has been excellent."
"I just received my 4th Velocity Micro Computer, a Raptor SE.
The service that I received was fantastic.
The order, the build, the delivery and customer service throughout was second to none.
I heartily recommend Velocity Micro, and without any hesitation or reservation I can say that my 5th computer will from Velocity Micro."
"When the new box arrived, I put my SSD in and updated drivers for the new motherboard. It ran for about a day then started BSOD. I contacted Customer service to get help. "Sorry, we can't support the system since it came with Linux". I finally got them to see it was a hardware problem, since both Windows and Linux were unstable. Let me just say that customer service for these guys is horrible. It was days between responses. The responses I did get seemed more aimed at pointing fingers than trying to help me solve the problem. I ended up shipping it back to the repair depot. Two weeks later without a single response in between I received an email that the machine was on it's way back to me. No mention of any problems or what they did for testing or to resolve the issue, or even if the issue was resolved. Immediately upon startup the same problem manifested. The machine won't even take a Windows 10 Install. It can't even get to the install screens. Customer Service is still pointing fingers. I requested to return it. They agreed for a 15% restocking fee, which is about $500.00. Why charge me a restocking fee for a box that won't work? I complained about the restocking fee. "Oh", they say, "oops..you can't return it because it's been more than 30 days since you bought it". Forget the fact they had it for 3 weeks. I guess that will teach me to be an uppity customer.
It's sad. It's a nice looking box. Wish it worked. Turns out there are some complaints at BBB for crappy customer service. There is about to be one more. I should have checked before I gave them my money. $2800.00 down the drain."
"Just completed moving all my software/hardware to my new M30. This was my second purchase from VM. My first purchase was 7 years ago and this PC replaces that one. The first PC is still running as if new and I gave it to a relative. The M30 is a faster and more powerful machine and I love it. It worked right out of the box. My first one never had one problem. It came with Win 7 and I updated it to Win 10 and it ran it fine. I highly recommend VM. Their website is very easy to use and the personnel are very helpful."
“Thank you for choosing Velocity Micro to build your new computer. You will be very pleased with the hardware components you selected, as well as a 64 bit version of Windows 7. It manages system resources very well. I wish you many weeks of flawless performance.”
"Just wanted to send you a brief note to thank you for the new Raptor. It arrived in perfect shape last week, was child's play to get running, and has been fantastic in every possible way. I'm running modeling software for new houses, have 25+ tabs and email open, plus heavily modded games (which I forgot to turn off), and the Raptor has handled all of it with ease -- using less than half the RAM/VRAM/GPU, and with fans barely kicking on at all. Blazingly fast at everything, no crashes, no problems whatsoever. Really impressive."
"Dave Dobbins, at Velocity Micro, sold me an extraordinary ProMagix HD90, four years ago.
Dave was helpful right from the beginning, from the sale, to the setup, and through the years since then. All the support is the best I've ever experienced among the five different computer brands I've owned.
The computer is rock solid, with enormous horsepower: More than I could ever need, and more than I could ever need is every man's dream.
I highly recommend Velocity Micro, and the ProMagix HD60. The ProMagix HD60 may last me 10 - 15 years total, or more. It's still state of the art. Dave made sure I was buying something that would make me smile with joy many years after the sale. He delivered.
You can't go wrong with Dave and Velocity Micro. A+"
"Can't say enough good things about this vendor. They knew exactly what I was looking for and turned around a quote in a few minutes. No back and forth. The right specifications at a fair price.
Delivery was on time as promised. Very happy and will purchase from here again"
"Purchased in 2015 - very well satisfied. This desktop is still in constant daily use - no issues or problems ever. Performs perfectly every time. Fast start up, quiet, and easy to use. Could not be happier. Highly recommend. Excellent warranty (that I have never had to use)."
"Absolutely love my Raptor Signature Edition. Rest assured when I decide to make changes, I will be going with Velocity Micro!"
"I'm on my second VM computer and I'm still extremely happy with it even though I bought it over 2 years ago. Its like lightening. I'm currently thinking about getting one of their laptops. I'm the local neighborhood geek so several of my friends and neighbors have also purchased VM computers to have one like mine. The one time I needed service, I had upgraded my BIOS and the computer wouldn't restart. I called the VM number in a panic and an actual American answered the phone and had me up and running again in a short period of time. I've never experienced such great service! The online ordering system was a breeze and fun since I could easily pick and choose the goodies I wanted, unlike other websites where I've given up trying to order something. Once I got the computer, NO BLOATWARE! NONE! Just my OS and my dream purring like a kitten, QUIETLY. Even though I jammed it full of stuff, it is very quiet and does not overheat. I'm not just satisfied, I'm tickled pink!"
"I haven't received my system yet but it was so much fun and easy to build it. I kind of wish I was still deciding what parts to put in my new system. Very thing was great so far so good. I dont think there is anything they can do to improve there website at this time its that fantastic.. I will update this review once I receive my system .."
"Every 3-4 years I buy a gaming laptop from Velocity Micro. I'm never disappointed. This time I bought the Raptor Z95 mATX, which is an astounding, reasonably priced gaming PC. I easily configured my PC on VM's website, emailed my order and 10 days later received a perfectly packaged PC. And 10 minutes later, my PC was up and running with no bloatware crap. I highly recommend Velocity Micro for all your computer needs, especially for PC gaming. Now, back to my beautiful looking, heavily modded Skyrim."
A rep from Velocity Micro, Velocity Micro, has responded:
“jcoggin,
We apologize for this issue and I just checked and your video card is on its way to you. This is definitely an uncommon occurance and we will get to the bottom of it, and assure you the best possible service from us and your PC. Thank you for choosing Velocity Micro.
Regards,
Customer Care Team
Edit: Again, thanks for your honest feedback. Something we should have been clearer on in our initial response is that from what we can determine, the loose graphics card that you experienced was a result of shipping damage from the carrier. Every PC that leaves our facility is heavily benchmarked and would not have made it through several layers QC in that state. However, this absolutely is no excuse for us not taking care of the situation faster. That's not typical of our team but we promise to be better next time.
If you have any additional concerns our need further assistance, please do contact us.”
