"This is the first bike ive attempted to add bags too so I called in and worked with a tech. He explained to me the process all step by step as I read thru it and began the installation. Its actually a lot more simple then It looks. I did need to get longer bolts but that I because I have a luggage rack added to my bike. And they do not account for that. The entire phone call he was really patient and took his time with me. All in all the installation went by fast and I was up and riding within the same day. Ive already gotten alot of compliments on the bike and really looking forward to the next rally with the guys! "
"Bought a swing arm bags for my Sporty from them a really cool dark distressed type of brown, this thing is super solid!! I don’t want to outfit my bike and I rarely have the need to carry much on me anyways so this was perfect. It fits a water bottle, rolled up extra Tee shirt my phone wallet and shades all perfectly. The shipping was a bit more then I would like, but the item did arrive in 3 days so I cant really complain. Instructions were easy enough, but if you know your bike, you can just install it no issues. Im looking at getting a tool roll from them soon since the bag was nice and rigid. "I Recently got a set of soft bags for my Vulcan 900 and when I got them I really liked that the bags were hard! They have a plastic and metal frame wrapped in the leather so that was cool, no worries of rips there. When installing I did realize the bolts were incorrect so I gave them a chat, immediately there was someone that asked for my order number. He apologized, asked again of the issue to confirm it and fixed it up for me all within less then 10 mins. He gave me a tracking number for the new bolts they sent me and within 2 days I had the bags on my bike! Really happy with the service and attentiveness of the chat they have. "I have several items from Viking Bags. They offer quality gear at affordable prices! I have a set of saddle bags, a motorcycle specific backpack, and a pair of wet weather pants. All three are good quality and super affordable. The pants are especially great. They're warm and dry, AND they're armored! I wasn't expecting that when I got them. Really solid stuff! This is a lengthy review that I hope helps the reader, and encourages Viking Bags to both change some of their policies and put more effort into their customer service.
I received the Lamellar Slanted Leather Saddlebags as a birthday present. When I received them, I was surprised to see glue visible and smeared outside of the Viking logo on the bags after all of the great reviews. I was also surprised that one lid is very sticky, making it difficult to open, but I expect that is likely to go away with use. The problem is I cannot use them!
Once I began installation, I realized the bags were too large. Shortly after purchasing the motorcycle, I replaced the factory seat with a sundowner seat so my wife can ride with me and it is slightly wider than the original seat. Sadly, it limits how far forward the bags can be mounted without rubbing against the seat when opening them.
Because of this, I asked Viking Bags about their “no hassle return & refund policy,” only to learn the no hassle applies to Viking Bags and not the customer.
I was informed I would have to PAY the shipping to send them back…not just if I returned them for a refund but even if I EXCHANGED them for a smaller set of bags (keeping my business with Viking Bags). Considering the weight and size of these extra large bags, that would be a very expensive fee.
After two lengthy phone calls, I asked to speak with a manager before finalizing my decision. It has been FIVE WEEKS SINCE THAT REQUEST, YET I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ONE PHONE CALL FROM ANYONE AT VIKING BAGS! There were also 13 emails exchanged due to their lack of attention to detail in reading emails…and there was no response to the last email I sent.
Every time I have called and asked when a manager will call me back, I am told that the employees that answer the customer service line “do not know the manager’s schedule,” and they are not able to simply pass the phone off to a manager.
I do not understand. With technology being what it is, how can you run a business this way and not take better care of the customer?
The ABSOLUTE WORST PART is that recently, while still waiting on a manager to return my call, I dropped one of the bags while moving them and it was slightly damaged (picture posted if this site allows).
I should have had my bags on my bike for a few weeks now . . . but instead, I am scrambling to research taillight relocation kits that will allow me to put these bags on my bike. The toughest part is proven to be finding kits that also meet the restrictions the Marine Corps has for service members riding motorcycles aboard military installations.
I do hope that Viking Bags takes customer service more seriously in the future. I find it interesting that these reviews never make it on Viking Bags site..."
"i gave these guys a call for some new baggers as my neighbor bought soft bags and i loved them. they treated me very nicely even though i had a ton of questions. Once i got them in a realized this is the best purchase i could of made at the cost. The leather covered bags were really well made and appeared to be fiberglass. my wife is loving them. We have more then enough room! We will definitely be coming back to them when we need more luggage!"
"My First experience with VikingBags was when I ordered a new set of saddlebags for my 2001 Shadow VT750 Ace. I had never had a motorcycle before nor have I purchased saddlebags. After a few days of looking around the internet I decided to go with VikingBags because of the price and how the bags looked on my bike. I went ahead and placed the order. The shipping was quick and before I knew it, my new SaddleBags were here. There was a link on the product page that showed an instructional video on how to install the bags. My roommate and I were able to get them installed in a little over an hour. This isn't a review of the bags, but I wanted to emphasize the quality and fit of the bags. They look right at home. It's very rare that anybody reaches out to it's customers unprovoked and I can't say how much that meant. I've since bought three leather jackets from them as well and again, couldn't be happier.

"I was very excited to receive my new set of Viking Hard boxes with the locking feature. Unfortunately I am extremely disappointed with the outcome. I had many difficulties with the new set of boxes and instead of being the consumer to complain I found ways to deal with a couple of the problems I was having. The problems though began to become more significant and parts of the bags we defected and not fixable. I dealt with many issues as far as hardware not fitting my motorcycle. The first issue being that on my motorcycle in which Viking advertises these bags for their manufacture hardware sent to me did not fit. It then took me over 3 hours to mount the boxes to my motorcycle which again they advertise these bags to fit. I then went to the local hardware store and made it work myself after already losing hardware driving down the road and almost losing the whole box in traffic. Again this is something I was willing to deal with and move forward without being a picky customer because I enjoyed Viking as a brand and their product. Once riding in my first light rain I then noticed the boxes took on an abnormal amount of water through the lids due to the seals not properly functioning, the left box lid started to stick and the locking mechanism was not freeing up, and without any damage or contact a piece of the faux latch on the box then snapped off. The faux latches began to turn white. Now I am very busy with work and family matters and have tried to handle this situation with Viking for almost 7 weeks. I was roughly 4-5 days out of warranty of the "30 day" policy they claim to have. I assumed after discussing with them all the things I had tried to do without involving them that they would understand. No instead I have multiple different people try and help me with no resolution. I received the boxes the last week of May and was trying to contact them via phone or submit a request by the first week of July. I since had spoken with two separate people on the phone when calling in myself. I was sent multiple emails stating they would contact me which they did not I had to follow up. I have asked for a representative of theirs to call me and have never once received a phone call. I have sent in video and picture to them and still have received no direction on how to proceed. I will personally never at this point purchase from Viking and would never recommend them to my riding group. I am extremely disappointed in the company and their customer service"
