"Quick delivery awesome bags"
"I've dealt with Viking in the past and had no problems until I received my 2nd purchase. The bags came damaged and part of them were unfinished. My experience with an exchange was really slow after I explained that I was pressed for time because my motorcycle was in the body shop getting repainted and that I needed my replacement bags as soon as possible because it all has to be repainted at the same time. Now it's all been pushed back and where as I would have had my motorcycle back it could be another month. Very upset loosing all this riding weather and felt like they should have done more to expedite my replacements. I could go on but what's the point nothing will be done to make me satisfied."
"Got my bags in a timely fashion. Love the looks of my VLX60TP bags. They fit my Yamaha Vstar perfectly."
"Easy to install and added a great look to the bike...pricing was fantastic. The feel and quality is outstanding..."
"Terrible customer service. First shipment arrived damaged. FedEx box was fine, they shipped damaged product. When I tried to get assistance from their support guy, he was rude, interruptive, and finally hung up on me. After submitting the RMA on their site...and sending 4 e-mails requesting an update on the RAM, they made me send pictures of their damaged product BEFORE they would send an RMA shipping label. I sent pictures of the bag where the stitching was missing. I returned the product, tracked it to their location, it took 4 more e-mails and a phone call for them to tell me there "Return Department" was "overloaded" and they were FINALLY shipping out my product. I finally received the product. I will NEVER do business with Viking Bags again. They should be aware, bike owners are a tight nit group. We share stories. Their 1 mistreatment of THIS customer will likely cost them 100 lost sales over the next year."
"Very happy with the quality of the products and speed of shipping. My only issue is a misleading description regarding the saddlebags. I was expecting an adjustable yoke to come with the bags as stated on the description but there wasn't one. The style of the bags didn't seem to lend itself well to a throw-over style and I planned to hard mount them anyway but I think Viking Bags should do a better job of proofreading its listings instead of lazily copying-and-pasting from one item to another."
"Came on time. Good product."
"Excellent product delivered in a timely manner"
"Super fast delivery great producy"
"The bags seem to be of great quality.
Installing them was another story, I had a professional to install mine, and he said it took way longer than usual, and he had to come up with improvises to make them work."
"Love my bags but wish the turn signal relocation kit had mentioned it does not work with lay back type license plate mounts "
"I've purchased 2 sets of bags from Viking and the quick disconnect mounts for my bike.
My first purchase of soft bags was great, my second purchase of $400 leather covered hard bags had a small issue with the locks & keys. I contacted customer service by email and supplied the picture as requested. Customer service was 5 stars as they replaced the locks quickly and now my hard bags are great. The quality of my soft bags was well worth the price, my hard bags are fantastic and very nicely made, I'm extremely happy with the price, quality and customer service. "
"Ordered a set of side bags for my Harley 1200XL on 9/30/14 and shipped 10/3/14. By March, 2015 one bag was still like new, the other was falling apart; both bags were mounted same time, same bike. I ride from my house garage to the parking garage at my law school and back again, 4 days per week, so they were not exposed to the elements except during the 1/2 hour ride, 4 days a week, over the 5 month time frame.
Finally called Viking Bags in May when the bag started falling off, to see what could be done about the obviously defective bag (since the other one was not having any issues), talked to "Nick" who said he would get back to me. 3-4 weeks later, and we had heard nothing back. Called again and spoke to "Nick" again. He advised me to send photos of the damaged bag. I did so. I also sent photos of the matching bag in perfect condition, for comparison purposes. 2 weeks later when we had heard nothing back, called "Nick" again, and he claimed to never have received them. We then emailed the photos again, and CC'd ourselves, Jun 24, 2014. Called him back immediately to confirm receipt. This time he stated he received the photos, and he would "get with production department to see what they advise, and will get back to you." I followed up in July, 2015 after hearing nothing back from "Nick" (shocker) and the guy I spoke with said he wasn't in. Asked when he would be in, the guy didn't know. Asked if I wanted to leave a message, I said "No, I guess I'll just wait and see if I'm ever important enough for him to follow up with as promised, or if I just need to leave a scathing review."
It is now Sept. 19, 2015 and I have YET to hear anything from "NIck" although at this point I'm far from surprised. From our previous conversations I got the definite feeling that he was just blowing smoke and had no intention of making things right, although I at least expected him to call back and blame it on the production company saying there's nothing they can do. The complete lack of follow-up though is just a slap in the face.
I believe this company just wants your money and after that, you're on your own, because they certainly will not stand behind their product.
The way the descriptions are written on their website, it purposely gives the impression that the bags are made so well you will have years of use out of them, and that the company will warranty for any defects; this just isn't the case. The reality is a 30-day warranty, which, given how difficult these are to install (taillights must be moved and in my case, re-welded, etc.) you'll be lucky to get them installed on a bike before the warranty runs out, let alone get them out on the road to see how they hold up.
The mysterious thing is, one of the bags in the set is just fine, so how is it that they can just ignore the fact that one is in perfect shape while the other is breaking apart at the seams? It just doesn't track.
I would advise to shop elsewhere, because this company doesn't deserve your money. I am a starving law student so I didn't have this money to waste, and I don't appreciate being given such an obvious run-around when I have a valid material defects claim.
Given the huge community of riders in Phoenix, this company just cut its own throat by alienating a member of this large group of riders. If they had simply taken care of me, whole different story, they would have received hundreds of orders in word-of-mouth business. Sad they won't stand behind their products.
From the website: "If at any time and for whatever reason you feel that you are not satisfied with your purchase we will be more than happy to offer a full refund of purchase price within 30 days." They make it sound like they have a great warranty, but what it really means is that they know their product is unlikely to last much past 30 days.
BEWARE!!!
