"A total fraud. Prices are not real, seller attempted to charge over $100 additional for factory included battery and charger."
"After hours of trying to get past busy signal, which during this season can be understood because of the holiday season, I was harassed to buy 3 more product to go with my order, "Are you sure, sir? Do you know what you are buying? This battery would extend usage...etc." Then I was told "Ok, it will arrive in two weeks." This is after it took 3 days to process the order and I had chosen 3 day shipping. I then ask him to cancel the order and he asked "Have you seen our camera kits online?" "Yes I saw the kits" "That's funny, they're not online, next time be honest" "WHAT?! Come on, just cancel it.""
"Website stated that item ships in 24-48 hours. Ordered a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 for what seemed to be a Great Price. Next day got an email to call to confirm. Did that and got the usual hard "upsell". I declined all upsells and Order was placed. The next day I checked the order status and suddenly the item was "backordered" with no estimate for delivery. I emailed them questioning this and received a canned reply that said its "listed as backordered". DUH! Then I started checking them out. Turns out that every certification label on thier website is bogus (Bizrate, Price assured, BBB Online, etc). So I felt abused and emailed them to imeediately CANCEL my order along with a few words from me concerning thier business practices and my future non-intention to shop witl them. Order WAS cancelled thankfully. Case closed forever with me I hope."
"This is one of those gyp joints that advertise low prices and then call you to get you to buy more before they'll ship their merchandise. If you don't order more then they tell you they're out of stock on the item you initially purchased and tell you it will be a long time before they will ship it to you to get you to cancel your order. I wouldn't recommend ordering from them."
"FOUR REASONS NOT TO DO BUSINESS !!!
1) GREY MARKET Cannon cameras with no disclosure.
2) 15% RESTOCK FEE for wrong item regardless.
3) RUDE pressure sell at confirmation call.
4) TIME & MONEY LOSS dealing with illegitimate business practice of "Wisetronics".
FOUR REASONS NOT TO DO BUSINESS !!"
"I purchased a Finepix s9000 at a reasonable price. Received a follow-up email the next day requesting that I call them for card verification. After verification was validated, I was subjected to a high presssure sales pitch to purchase other items. This was okay and somewhat expected. When I didn't purchase anything else, I was told that it the camera ordered was "Grey Goods" and would come with instructions in Japanese. I told the person that I didn't mind because I could always download a pdf tutorial from the Fuji Website. I was then informed that my camera would not come out of stock and would be shipped directly from Japan. I was informed this could take almost one month to receive, in spite of their promise of 24-48 hour shipment and standard UPS delivery. This was to be a gift from my wife and now I was informed that in spite of their 24-48 hour shipping promise, I wouldn't get the item for another month because I didn't purchase anything else. I cancelled my order and will never order from them again."
"Absolutely horrible! I used to live in Brooklyn for many years and know those kinds of stores rather well. Of course, there are also a few exceptions such as www.ButterflyPhoto.com
Last night I ordered a Fujifilm F10 for $269 plus $14 shipping to Los Angeles. On the website, it said to call for "contents", which I did. I was assured that everything is BRAND NEW, in its ORIGINAL BOX, with all the required accessories. I came back home the next day and got an email from them, asking me to call to confirm the order. I thought it was a security measure and was rather impressed... little did I know.
The sales representative double checked my credit card and asked me if I would also like to purchase a battery for the camera. I was confused and asked him what he meant. Apparently, ALL Fujifilm F10 cameras are shipped without batteries but they would happily sell you one for either $50 or $79. I told him to wait, called two other stores as well as Fuji directly and was told that it is absolute bulls....
Needless to say that I called back, yelled at them, and cancelled the order. I am no going to order from www.ButterflyPhoto.com, which I should have done in the first place. The sales representative told me that the F10 comes in three different styles/boxes and that the price on the web was for the standard one with no battery. Just strange that they did not actually mention anything about "packages"...
To make a long story short... I got lucky I found out early enough that this company is a big scam. Do not try to save $10 by choosing them because you will regret it.
STAY AWAY!

"I ordered a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 digital camera from Wisetronics online in Nov 2005 a month prior to our first Caribbean cruise so I could have it for the trip. I used them because they had the cheapest price online. What a mistake. 3 days later they call under the guise of "verifying" my credit card, then try to sell me filters, cards, and a warranty. Then they tell me the camera I ordered is not the "US version", and to get that I would have to pay another $90! Unbelievable. I tell them I want what I ordered, nothing else. They tell me I will receive the camera in one week. Now, 5 days before we leave, no camera. I call them and they tell me it’s back ordered, so I cancelled the order. In all my years of buying things online, I have never had a worse experience. These guys are criminals and rip-off artists, nothing more. I have no doubt that any positive reviews of this bunch were written by them."
"Yeah, just like everyone else, I ordered my product(Sony DSC H1). Received and email the next day asking to call them and confirm some stuff. They wanted me to buy a whole bunch of other stuff, ( I ended up adding a 512mb Memory Stick because I did need one). While on the phone they informed me that the price I was shown on the website was for the "NonUSA" version and included no charger or warranty, (or anything other than the camera really). I told them I wanted the USA version with the warranty and all the bells and whistles otherwise they could cancel the order, well they did upgrade it to the USA model for $30 more which was pretty good still, better than anywhere else still. So Im a little miffed that thye tried to sell me crap but, so long as your not a push over and you knwo that YOU are in control and let them know that, you can get a good deal out of it all."
"I ordered a Sony DSC H1 Camera that was said to be in stock. They had me call the next day to "Verify" the order. At this time they tried to sell me Warranties, batteries, memory .... I did not order any of it and they told me that the camera would not ship for 3-5 days because it was backordered. After a week and it was still showing backordered I called them. They said that it was going to be another 3-5 days. I cancelled my order. They were real good about canceling the order. "
"Ordered Panasonic DMC-FX30 from Wisetonics. Advertised online at $489 as lowest price in three comparison shopping sites. Checked order online two days later and it said "Order processing or in shipping." Checked two days later, online status showed "cancelled." Called by phone the next day and was told the camera was not in stock and my order was cancelled. Interestingly, got an email advertisement from them advertising the same camera the next week. THEY DON'T HAVE THE MERCHANDISE THEY ADVERTISE!! UNSCRUPULOUS, DISHONEST AND CONSISTENT!! "
"This is the email that I sent to Wisetronics after a very unsatisfactory attempt-to-purchase:
WiseTronics:
On 10/24/05 I ordered a Canon Powershot SD500 camera (order # 103267). Since my order was placed, the info about on your site said it was either "shipped" or "pending". Yesterday, it began saying that the camera was back ordered despite it still being listed on your site as "usually ships in 24-48 hours" - and with an even lower price!! I called your business today about all this (and to ultimately cancel my order) & was told that all the other stores would have the camera on backorder as well & that I should not complain until I determine so. I was told all this in a very condescending manner.
Well, I just ordered the SD500 on Amazon for $355 with free shipping - it is in stock & will ship on 11/23/05. My total with Wisetronics was $330, but with no hope of seeing the camera after waiting almost a month already. I gladly paid a few extra dollars for fast shipping from a reputable business rather than spend any more time with your waiting game. The on-line reviews of your "store" were also mistaken about your not calling to confirm my order; you *did* call & tried to push batteries & SD cards on me. I didn't bite, maybe that's why I was placed on perpetual back order.
I will post this letter on the forums that claim you are reputable, in my book you are absolutely not & you will never have my business. "Stores" of your ilk will soon become dinosaurs, internet consumers want in-stock goods & fast service, neither of which you provide.

"I ordered the Sony DSC-H1 camera for a really good price and that it would be shipped out in 24-72hrs. A day later I get an e-mail to call and confirm my order. Apparently it was a ploy to get me to buy batteries at an extremely inflated price. I chose not to get the batteries. Two days later I call back to check on status of my order and apparently I had canceled my order. I told customer service that I did not cancel my order, but that I just did not want the batteries. He replied that the camera was out of stock. Bunch of BS."
"This is a fake! They show you web cite with a very good price on items but really when you call to confirm the price they answer you that they do not have this item in stock...Tried a few time with SLR digital cameras. NOT RECOMMENDED!"
"On September 20 I responded to an internet solicitation to purchase the Canon EOS Rebel XT camera with 18-55mm lens from Wisetronics for $769.99.
Two days later I responded to an email requesting a telephone verification of the order. When I responded, a salesperson tried to sell me additional accessories. When I declined he became frustrated and said the camera would not arrive for "3 or 4 weeks."
I inquired about the status of my order in early October and received an email on 10/10/2005 stating that the camera is on "backordered status." This is odd because site continued to advertise the product at that price and it is available through other outlets at a higher prices.
I called again today and was told it would be at least another month because they "could not make money selling at that price." I checked their website today, 10/21/2005, and they are now advertising the camera for $759.99 ($10 cheaper than my offer) in September. There is no notice on the sight indicating that this item is not in stock at that price.
This has been filed with the IFCC as an internet fraud case nr I05102116242561.
