"Wish I had read the reviews before placing the order. Placed the order on April 11, received confirmation that order would be shipped in 3-5 days. Didn't hear again until I wrote to confirm if order had been shipped. No, it was out of stock and wouldn't have for 6 weeks? Checked with credit card processor and they had already withdrawn the money. What? Use my money for 6 weeks? I cancelled the order immediately and was told that a credit confirmation would be sent within a couple hours. It took me 4 more days and hours of communication with the CC company for Woodland to issue credit.
Might have been different if item had been in stock but when they processed payment and expected a customer to wait 6 weeks the alarm went off. Save yourself angst!"

"Not a good experience. I ordered one composter. They charged my account but did not ship because the item was on back order. I do not believe a business should charge until the item is shipped. After several weeks without any communications from them, I canceled this first order, and ordered a different composter. This one is a piece of junk, and the hatch does not close expect by kicking it into place. There is no return shipping service from this company. The cost to me of shipping it back is prohibitive. I am stuck with it. I will never buy from them again."

"Horrible customer service --- they shipped the WRONG fire pit and it took them two months to respond to repeated attempts to contact them. So I used the one I got and then they contacted to apologize for the error. When I asked for an exchange they refused (because the fire pit was --- USED!), and instead gave me a $50 refund on the product I did not order. They did this after I told them their offer was not satisfactory.
Buyer beware with these turkeys. They ship the products via a freight service and you have limited opportunity to catch a wrong delivery in time. I will never do business with them again.

Ha! Amazing that it took them only 5 days to respond to my opinion here when I couldn't get them to respond to my original complaint via emails and voice mail in December 2011 (not January as Maegan stated). I supplied a copy of my initial complaint from December to the BBB. Am I enjoying the fire pit? Not so much. Not what I ordered and waaaay overpriced for what I got. Woodland Direct sucks.
For those of you considering a purchase, look through the opinions / rating and see how often their poor customer service is listed as an issue. And then look at how many times Maegan has to apologize for the same poor customer service amongst a wide variety of customers. My next fire pit will be purchased someplace else, and I will do a better job of my homework before I buy. It is difficult to work through an issue with Woodland Direct when it takes them two months to respond to a complaint."
