"Excellent for me. I have been watching Woot for a year. Then: Saw a Hitachi 18v Li drill for $99. The price was fair. Best price elsewhere is $150 but with two batteries. I don't need the second battery so it fit my needs better. It was just what I wanted. It arrived in less than a week. In original packaging, with case and accessories. I must say the shipping carton would not have worked for a delicate product, but this was perfect"
"I've bought two products from woot and in each case it takes weeks for them to ship; you will have to send emails upon email in order for them to ship. Now when you have a problem with the product, they tell you they can't help but to contact the manufacturer.
I recently bought the HP touch pad and had issues with it, when I wrote to woot they wrote back telling me they can't do anything but to contact HP, who also asked me to go back to woot since they were not the seller.
Woot is the last place anyone should buy from if you need customer service because there is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE from woot."
"I have purchased items from Woot 43 times since May '07 and have never had negative experience.
One time, Woot did run out of an item that I ordered and I received an email the following day apologizing and offering me $5 off of my next order. They never charged my card. It's amazing to me how some people find this offensive or label it as dealing in bad faith. Woot is a deal a day site, not a "we stock a great selection of products every day" site.
All of my packages, except for the rare "Bag-of-Crap", have always come with packing peanuts, or air-pillows. Again, if your going to go to the effort to purchase something labeled "crap", set the proper expectations for yourself or just save your $8.
For all of the folks complaining about the speed of the "Smartpost" delivery: the Smartpost icon on the Woot page has a picture of a SNAIL on it. Do you really need it spelled out for you??? It's $5 shipping whether your purchasing three 25" computer monitors or a single pair of ear-bud headphones. If you don't like the idea, shop elsewhere. In all areas of your life: observe, reason, draw logical conclusions, and set reasonable expectations. Your life, and your on-line shopping, will be greatly improved."
"Ordered a refurb Ooma that, after four hours on the phone with Ooma, the unit was found to be DOA. Went to a brick and morter and had Ooma up in 10 minutes. Emailed Woot five times, as they don't have a phone, for a RMA. First Woot asked if Ooma offered to send a replacement! The remainder of my emails for an RMA were ignored. After almost a month, I ended up going through my credit card company for intervention and finally got an RMA."
"I ordered a TV for my daughter last month. Woot said they shipped to the correct address, but it did not arrive. When I contacted customer service (They only allow email- no phone calls), I had to wait 24 hours for a response. They asked me to verify address. I had to wait another 24 hours for a response. I asked them to ship out another one. I had to wait another 24 hours for a response. They said they would ship another one after the original was returned via the shipping carrier. I begged them to call me- they hid behind their computers and said they don't call customers. After doing this for 2 weeks, I received a credit on my card. I emailed them again to ask if they were going to charge for the new TV. They said they didn't have anymore. Too bad.
I would use a reputable vendor that is more responsive to their customers after they get your payment. These folks are cowards hiding behind a computer screen- DO NOT USE THEM. If you have a problem, you'll have a wicked time getting them to respond with a solution. Don't even bother when they're are much more reputable vendors out there."
"No complaints, good site. Ships as promised."
"Great site! No problems with it and good prices. "
"I love Woot. I have bought many things from them, and they always come as described. Shipping is a little slower then other companies, but they let you know estimated delivery. They then send via FedEx so once shipped it arrived quickly."
"Don't buy from Woot! Bought items and it never showed up, took another 2 weeks to get items. While the items were beening sent the second time the Mfg. of the items went out of business and I wrote to them asking if there was a chance for a refund since the electronic devices no longer had a customer supoort system, their response was very rude. Here is just a section from their email, keep in mind the mfg.is out of business and I can't call them:
I’m very sorry, unless we send you the wrong item, grossly misrepresent a product or are the providers of the item's warranty, we do not take back products. You can get more information from our FAQ/"What is Woot?" section of our site:
Will I receive customer support like I'm used to?
No. Well, not really. If you buy something you don't end up liking or you have what marketing people call "buyer's remorse," sell it on eBay. It's likely you'll make money doing this and save everyone a hassle. If the item doesn't work, find out what you're doing wrong. Yes, we know you think the item is bad, but it's probably your fault.
Very unprofessional, there is no phone number listed to call anyone at WOOT, and won't buy from them again."
"woot is good! woot woot woot woot!"
"Sansa refurbished products purchased from w00t! (or elsewhere for that matter) are not covered by any Sansa warranty. You will not get a replacement or a refund from Sansa. w00t! also refuses to replace faulty "Bag Of Crap" items regardless of manufacturer.
Warning not whining."
"I've always had good experiences with Woot. While I do get tired of seeing the same types of items on there day after day, the occasional amazing deal that is right up my alley makes it all worthwhile.
I live in Dallas and their warehouse is in Irving so I usually get items VERY quickly, which is nice.
Had one issue where I had to return something due to it not working properly and they took care of it promptly."
"My issue with Woot! has almost entirely to do with shipping, particularly with Woot's use of FedEx "Smartpost" to ship nearly everything. This delays Woot's notoriously slow shipping process still further.
In addition, the "customer care" specialist(s) are less than wonderful; At one point last year, one of their reps. found "no issues" with a parcel that had been misrouted 6 times and eventually lost! FedEx has only managed to misroute my current shipment 3 times between Wisconsin and Michigan, apparently oblivious to the fact that I live in neither state! Good show Woot! See-ya."
"Quick and painless shopping. Quick, non-obtrusive and not bombarded with with slew after slew of insignificant products."
"Woot is a fun site. They typically have good products, quality shirts, etc. I'm, generally speaking, a long time fan.
But Woot has a big problem that seems to slip under the radar: shipping. They don't seem to ever use packing materials (bubble paper/peanuts/etc). I managed to snag my third Bag of Crap recently, and as always, everything came in a large box with no packing materials. I got a toy remote helicopter that arrived completely broken from shipping, due to Woot's lack of packing materials. The box was about 3/4ths empty, so there was a lot of room for things to move around. Woot's reponse to this? "Sorry, bags of crap are as-is". Well I'm sorry Woot, but apology not accepted. I don't care if it's a special bag of crap or not, if you ship something fragile, pack it properly. Period. I'm perfectly fine with getting nothing but junk in a bag of crap.. that's to be expected. But when I actually DO get something good.. it would be nice if it wasn't broken into pieces. Of all the things I've ever ordered from Woot, not a single item has had protective material in it.
