Placed an order for a $30 product, and was told their billing department would not approve my credit card. Insisted I make a form of cash payment (bank wire, PayPal, etc). Offered 1.5% discount (on $30?? Really??).
I checked with my bank and they confirmed the charge authorization was APPROVED and the merchant cancelled the order 4 minutes later. Makes sense because in 31 years, I've NEVER had a charge declined. EVER.
I don't understand why this merchant plays these secret games. If they don't want my credit card, be HONEST and explain what's really going on and not deceive your customer into paying cash so you save a few pennies on your credit card fees.

I ordered a Hanukkah present to be shipped to our daughter and son in law in Italy on December 14th, a week ago. The order receipt promised that the order would be processed within two business days, and I paid for very expensive DHL shipping to guarantee delivery (at least to Italian Customs Service) in two more days. The merchant deducted the price of the item and the shipping charges from our credit card and we found out, that as of today, they had not processed the order.
We place frequent online orders from reputable merchants, and our credit cards are never charged until shipment is actually made.
The "mamzerut" that run World of Judaica don't follow or care about accepted business ethics, and may be committing online fraud.
I strongly urge that you DO NOT deal with this company."
