"I was able to use XOOM quite successfully for those close friends I occasionally help with school fees, medical bills or other emergencies. Because these friends of almost 10 years may be scamming me as they live in India, Nigeria, Gambia and Uganda XOOM closed my account as I did not follow their User Agreement or one of my friends did not follow the agreement. If you read their so called agreement you would not know what you violated as it says nothing. When I requested information as to why my account was being closed I was told they did not have to reveal that information. If these companies were truly worried about scammers why do they not stop those poor individuals who send Hundreds of thousands of dollars in one transfer only to find out they have been scammed later. Those of us who are able and wish to help other young men and women survive in life and gain the skills to provide for themselves and their families get punished just because we have not traveled to those countries. It does not matter that we may have met others who know these individuals or they are associated with other organizations we work for such at the Red Cross or belong to such as Rotary International supposedly we are laundering money or being scammed. I am thoroughly disgusted with many of them.
