"I've been very satisfied with the laptop (XOTIC PC50DD2, a rebranded Clevo laptop), though in hindsight I realize I could have purchased it more cheaply via Clevo directly. XOTIC offers good customer service and deals on peripherals.

But I am frustrated by how much a replacement fan costs outside of warranty. After a little less than three years, the CPU fan on my laptop began to die. This part is integrated with the heat sink and GPU fan. XOTIC resolved my issue relatively quickly, but they quoted me $95 for the part (through Sager). It wound up being $125 for the part after shipping and taxes. After my initial email, I also felt that the RMA forms that I needed to complete were both redundant with prior provided information and ill fitted for my specific issue — getting a part replaced.

I made the decision to do repairs through XOTIC because I was busy. But now that I had time to remember that it's just a rebranded Clevo laptop, I see the same part on AliExpress for $15. It's also available via Clevo. And the part hasn't even arrived via XOTIC's shipping yet. In hindsight, I wish I had purchased both the laptop and the part through Clevo or a cheaper re-seller. But if you need don't have the technical skills to do those things yourself, XOTIC is good."

"I ordered a laptop and a week later it still says "ordered" on the status page. Contacted customer service and they said that MSI had an issue and they should get my laptop by next week. We shall see. I don't think they should sell laptops that they don't already have in hand."

"Everything went very smoothly. I liked being able to customize the laptop and there were many payment options which helped a lot. The only thing that bothered me was the extremely high prices for the upgrade options. The ram and SSD's I wanted were so much more expensive than anywhere online I opted to not purchase them from your store but will purchase them from another vendor and upgrade the laptop myself. I will save A LOT of money doing it that way. I would have preferred to purchase them from you so they would be included in the warranty but I can't justify the added expense. "Overall I'm happy with the buying experience, at the time of writing this review I placed a pre-order for a laptop and the entire process leading to this point has been smooth. I discovered this website through the Asus website.

Making the purchase, they did offer me discounts through making a new account with them, which is nice. When customizing my laptop, there were certain offers that I didn't have any knowledge about and that didn't have an info button to explain anything about them. As an example, the different products they place on the CPU/GPU or why one may be valued over the other, if at all in comparison with what the laptop manufacturer may already have implemented.

I appreciate that after making the purchase, they sent me emails reviewing their warranties and policies. I do however wish that they were better explained during the point of purchase/customization because it would have affected my decision in adding an extended warrenty or not. "
