"This is by far the worst internet-buying experience I have had. The website 'estimated shipping date' feature was misleading: if I knew that the system wouldn't ship by the date indicated on the site, I would have either ordered faster assembly, or from a different company. Customer service rep was courteous at all times, despite the fact that his options to resolve my issues seemed to be limited. The price was a bit higher than some of the competition, and the reason I opted for XG is because I didn't want to go through the hassle of putting the computer together myself. When I placed the order, I SPECIFICALLY asked in the comments section to get a call back, confirming that the computer configuration was in fact internally compatible. Someone called me the next day, saying that all parts were compatible and the computer will be assembled as I requested. When I received the computer, the Aopen DVD-RW drives weren't getting recognized by Windows due to a conflict. A Saturday call to a tech clarified that those drives should NOT have been put into the computer together. When I received the computer, the UPS driver had to make a note that the Logitech speakers I ordered might be damaged, because they were sent from CA to FL, all the way across the country in the factory, flimsy carton box. By the time I got them, the box had more UPS tape on it that cardboard. The box with the computer had stuff jammed into it so tightly that the external HD drive enclosure broke (plastic cracked). When I pulled out the computer, the front door of the case as well as the top of the front fascia were full of fingerprints, light scratches and smudges. I spent a good 10-15 minutes with a cloth and cleaner, just making the case look like it was new. In addition, the magnets that keep the door closed had a wear pattern from the door being open and closed, and make me believe that the case was either a customer return, or has been used around the shop. When I called to get those issues resolved, I was transferred to tech support 'specialist'. He agreed to take back the DVD-RW drive, but insisted that I was responsible for shipping. His excuse was that when customers use their configuration utility on the website and the store assembles the machines they don't check part compatibility because the customer (get this!) may be buying some of the parts for other machines. Why in the world would I order an assembled computer, and use parts from it for other machines? He was adamant at insisting that I pay for freight, and when I mentioned that one of their customer service reps confirmed compatibility as I requested, the tech remarked that that guy was not a tech and maybe I should ask him to pay for shipping. At that point I asked for a manager, who (of course!) could not be reached, didn't have voicemail, and I had to rely on the tech to relay a message to his supervisor, to give me a call back. I am still waiting for that call. Since then, the customer service rep has sent me a shipping label for the DVD-RW drive, and advised that I call tech support for RMAs for the damaged HD enclosure and to resolve the issue with the case. Considering my less than pleasant experience dealing with their tech support, I will not be calling back. I guess, hoping that purchasing a $2500 piece of hardware would render courteous, professional and knowledgeable assistance was a little more than buyxg.com could provide! "
"I purchased a gaming computer from this company and while I am happy with the computer I am not happy with the service I got after. My computer arrived and two of the fans were not connected..the hard drives were laying on the bottom of the case not mounted and I was missing a number of pieces of software that were supposed to come with it. I called and explained my problems and they said they would send the missing things. I got about half of what they promised to send. Okay. Then my power supply started to fail and I was instructed to contact a tech support service they subcontract out to. They told me I needed a new power supply and would have one shipped to me. Today I was contacted from Extreme Gear and told that I would have to pay for my new power supply by credit card and once they recieved my old one back they would credit me. Are you kidding me? I just paid three thoasand dollars for a computer that arrived incomplete and it breaks a week later and you want me to put myself out for the cost of the new part until you get the defective one back? What a joke. Great customer service as well when I told them I thought that was a bad policy and was hung up on by a girl who could only come up with "whatever" as a response. "
"I purchased a new computer case from them after a few weeks of research. I had made purchases from them in the past. The website made no mention of whether the matching LCD control module came with it, so I asked their sales department via e-mail and receiver a very speedy response. When I ordered the item, I indicated that I only wanted it if they were 100% sure it came with it. They proceeded to look into it and found it did not come with it. They called me at home and informed me that they are throwing one in for free. I was VERY pleased with this level of service. The items shipped out that night and came in very good condition with no damage and all pieces accounted for. I will do business with again. "

"I usually don't create reviews for merchants, but have decided to do so for this one. When it comes down to it, the only difference that seperates the e'tailers is service. When merchants utilize the price watch type sites, like this one, what else is there. I asked for rush shipping for an extra fee. To my surprise I was called at work, the representative had to track me down as I didn't give them my work number, to discuss the rush shipping. He stated that he could not make the rush and would drop the shipping fees if I still wanted to buy the product, a video card, from them. I decided that this was acceptable and kept my order. The order arrived on time per the phone conversation and in perfect condition. Its extremely rare that a merchant would actually take the time to call the customer on an order like this. Most would just ship the order late and avoid dealing with the customer when they already have the money -- knowing that the customer would just live with it. My experience with this merchant has been excellent and I would definately purchase from them again!"
