"Update 4/3/2013:
I just received a call from Mr Rodger Walker, a customer service representative from BestPricePhoto.com explaining the issue with the company, that they had been closed for religious observance for the past week, and that was the reason that the order had not been processed and would be delayed. Clearly these ratings are important to the business and customer satisfaction as well, and so he was able to offer me a free battery in order to make up for the extended delay in my order. Overall, my feeling is that they are trying their best to make up for the issues caused by the break they took. I offered some feedback suggesting that next time they should make it more clear when the company is closing and orders will be left unprocessed for an extended period of time. I do understand that these things happen, particularly with the Passover and Easter holidays, and therefore I have updated my review from the original one star to four stars, for satisfying the original order as well as making up for the delay by including a free battery, which is something they did not need to do.


Original review 3/28/2013:
11 days ago (3/17) I ordered a Canon T4i from BestPricePhoto.com. The next day I received an email stating the order was being processed, and order processing could take 24-48 hours. Three days later (3/21) I called them to ask about the status of my order. The representative (I did not ask his name) said that my order was being processed and then asked me if I would like to buy an extended battery because the battery included did not last long. I declined that and the other accessories he asked me about. I asked when he expected my camera to ship and he said either the next day (a Friday) or the following Monday (3/25, 8 calendar days after the original order, 6 business days). Monday afternoon (3/25) I had still not received any email so I called them around 3pm EST and I got their voicemail stating that they were closed and to call back during business hours, which were 9:30am to 6:00pm on Monday. On Tuesday and Wednesday (3/26 and 3/27) I got the same message, stating they were close and to call back during the time I was already calling. This prompted me to send an email to their customer service department on Tuesday morning notifying them of the issue with their phones and telling them that if they did not call or reply to my email by the close of business Tuesday I would file a complaint with the BBB. I filled out and filed a complaint with the New York BBB that evening.

Today, 3/28/2013 I still had not heard from them nor was there any response to the BBB complaint so I called again, just an hour ago. This time I got the name of the customer "service" representative, "Sandy", extension 540, and he very rudely got my information and told me that my camera would ship in 12 business days. I asked why and he said that Canon messed up their shipment to BPP and that they wouldn't get another shipment of Canon T4i's in until then. When I told him that I had been told that the camera would ship on the previous Friday or Monday, a full 6 days ago, he told me that there was no way it would have been because they were closed for the Passover Holiday until today, hence why there was no one to answer the phones Monday or Tuesday. I finished by telling him that he would take off the $10 difference that the website now showed the camera for and he would ship it next day for free when it came back in stock, to which is said, "Of course."

In either case I am extremely unhappy with the service I have been provided so far. I had originally ordered from them after checking the reviews on this site, which for the whole first page were extremely positive. Now that I've dug through 5 pages of them I can see that at least recently there have been a number of issues with this store. I'll update this review if things change, but for now I can't recommend this store to anyone, and anyone looking for advice on whether to buy from them or not should read all of the reviews and ask themselves which ones sound like they were written by the company itself. At the very least I have a hard time believing anyone would recommend them based on "Great Customer Service", because that has definitely not been my experience.

"Best Price Photo has the best pricing on many items I have found online. I was unsure which lens protector and polarizer would be best for the use of the lens I was ordering, and after speaking with one of their Customer Service agents (David) I received accurate and awesome information about the differences in the lens and which would be the best for my type of photography and intended use of the lens. "I purchased a Nikon d3200 camera kit from them. They called me the next day to confirm the order they also said i needed this battery which would last 5 times longer than the one that came with the camera. The camera price was very good at $469.99. This extra battery (and the free charger) price was never mentioned but they charged me $569.99 plus $21.80 to ship it.
I have shipped stuff all over and never paid more then around $10 . Well i did get the camera except that it wasn't in a Nikon Box it was in a plain white box.. like a refurbished box with a Nikon label pasted on it. The battery and charger that they charged me $100 for was not delivered and i called the billing dept and they said the extra charges were for the "upgrade" that i never got. He said i needed to talk to customer service which he transferred me to. After 25 or more rings i was disconnected. Now whenever i call all i get is the message they are closed. i FEEL LIKE I GOT A REFURBISHED CAMERA FOR THE PRICE OF A NEW ONE. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS OUTFIT.If you do you will be sorry!

"This is for my purchase of a Canon T4i camera and 18-135mm STM kit.

First the Good:
- Customer service was nice, and they at least seemed to be trying to help
- They sent me a free set of filters for my trouble ($10 at a popular on-line retailer)
- I ended up spending only $17 more than I would have paid at a particular popular and reputable on-line retailer. (I don't want to name names, but you would recognize them.)

The Bad:
- I ordered the camera and lens on January 18, 2013. I finally had the camera and the correct lens on March 5.
- The packaging was beat up and used, obviously not original. Some of the bubbles in the bubble wrap were popped, apparently because it was used. Even the little plastic bag holding the battery was beat up and not new. Was the camera used? Was it someone's return? Only the manuals were in new packaging.
- I used a link from a popular and reputable camera review web site to BPP that said that I would get the 18-135mm STM lens. But BPP sent me a 18-135mm non-STM lens - a huge difference. Whose fault is that? I can't believe BPP didn't know they were selling non-STM lenses to customers who trusted that when they clicked "STM lens"; they would get an STM lens. Customer Service said, "We couldn't possibly sell the camera and lens at that price. We need to take Canon's kits apart and make our own kit." (Or something to that effect. They said that Canon doesn't sell a kit with the T4i camera and the 18-135 non-STM lens.)
- To get the right lens I had to ship the non-STM lens back at my own expense ($17).
- For an additional $40 they were to send me the STM lens. (That would mean that I would pay the same price as if I'd bought the camera and STM lens at that popular and reputable on-line retailer, except that I was out the $17 shipping for my old lens.) So What did they charge my card? $60, not the $40 they said. I had to call again and wait forever on hold to get my $20 back. And every time I called, there was a long wait on hold. I had to call lots of times to get what I thought I was ordering.
- When they were going to send the right lens, they said it would come 2-day delivery to compensate for my inconvenience. When they seemed to have trouble finding the right lens, they said it would be drop-shipped from Canon. When that didn't happen, they said it would come 3-day delivery. How did it finally come? Standard shipping, and after a very long wait.
- When the STM lens arrived, it was also in beat-up packaging, not new, warranty card torn off. It must have been a return too.
- When I first placed the order on the weekend, they called me Monday morning to try to sell me an extra battery for $75 -- It was a Martin Luther King Day special. They said I needed it, because the Canon battery isn't any good. It's only good for 1/2 hour." Good grief. The Canon battery is just fine. And a new, perfectly good battery does not cost $75, even if it's not on sale! More like $10 or $20 from a reputable on-line retailer. I'm glad I wasn't a sucker for that one!

I guess some people think they got a good deal here, but I sure didn't.

"My order was not placed for over a week, so I called Customer service. They made me place a favorable review on the internet before they would even place my order. So I did and now I am updating it. I am not pleased with this type of pressure as it gives a false sense of how good this vendor really is. And very few customers who were pressured into a good review will not go back and update it. I did receive my product and it appears to be good. I am not pleased with their service."

"What a bunch of clowns! On Dec. 3, 2012 I ordered a Canon camera from these shysters because of the low price of $529. I cannot begin to relate the number of e-mails and phone calls I made to them concerning my order. Each time, my order was "on its way" or "shipping tomorrow" or, finally "has shipped" and the tracking number I insisted they give me was fake. No such number existed with UPS. Meanwhile, I still held out hope that the camera would be shipped as promised. Around the middle of December, out of the blue, BPP charged $900+ to my credit card, not once but FIVE days in a row for a total of (including the price of the undelivered camera) $5000+. This after I had CANCELLED the transaction on a camera that had never been shipped! Thankfully, the fraud dept. at my bank caught the charges and negated them. But I still had to cancel my credit card for fear of other false charges being made. I called BPP and they told me the charges were caused by a "computer glitch" but never withdrew either the original charges or the overcharges. I expect BPP to refute my claims, just as they have done for everyone else's but trust me...you don't want to go through what I have. Stay clear of this place!
After reading BPP review I can only shake my head and be happy the fraud dept. at my bank was on its toes!
