"Very unhappy. I placed an order for a lens marked in stock, and I got shipping confirmation(after repeated email questions) after an order placed the same day from B&H had already arrived. When the lens finally showed, it was in a beat up box with wrong sized foam inserts and no manual or warranty card that should be with a new $600 canon lens. Not sure how this will end, but I am not happy getting some used return lens from a dropship warehouse. Should have waited a couple days for B&H to restock it, would have had it sooner, from their own warehouse and in new condition with all the papers and correct packing condition in the box."

"I was shopping around for a Canon EOS XS camera. I couldn't find the item for less than $500. Central Digital had it listed for $440, which included a camera bag, cleaning kit, and mini-tripod as well as free shipping. I was slightly hesitant to order, as there are a number of negative comments about this company. There are far more GOOD reviews than bad, so I took the gamble.

I was very pleased with the service I received. Here is how the order played out:

* I ordered on a Monday evening.
* I received a phone call from Central Digital Wednesday afternoon. They wanted to "verify my address". What they were really trying to do is sell me accessories (over-priced accessories). The salesperson was very friendly and backed off after I said that I knew what I was getting and didn't need any extras.
* The item shipped on Thursday and I received it on Wednesday. I live relatively close to their warehouse, thus the short shipping time.

The camera was exactly as I expected it to be. No issues with the product whatsoever.

So other than the salesperson calling, I was pleasantly surprised with how everything went."

"Great experience. It came with all of the original packing material and warranty card. It was a great deal overall. The best deal I could find, even compared to eBay. However, this package included the tripod, cleaning cloth/ solution, and case. Absolutely unbeatable price.

As for the camera itself (Powershot SD980 IS), it is a wonderful device. The touch screen is quite smooth and the point and shoot ability is simple and wonderful. Some of the advanced features (color accent, color swap, etc) may be a little difficult to figure out at first but are easy to use once you figure them out. "

"The system for purchasing the camera did not build any trust. Requiring me to talk with a sales rep (up sell) before the order is shipped was frustrating. The sales rep provided misleading information about the battery system that was included with my camera in an attempt to up sell me to an "extended life" battery. The camera was advertised as "factory sealed" but when it arrived the box was not sealed. Furthermore, I purchased a "body only" DSLR and it arrived in a "kit box" with the lens having been removed.

Did I get a second hand 50D? Was this body factory defective for some reason? I guess I will never know and the process overall did nothing to build trust or repeat business.

And the re-stocking charge is certainly a big deterrent to shipping it back based on these concerns. I won't be recommending the reseller to anyone based on this experience."

I decided to give it a try anyway because the price was so much better than anywhere else and there were also a lot of great reviews. Well, I'm glad I ordered because it was a great experience. While I found it anoying that I did receive a call asking me to call and confirm my internet order and there was an attempt to sell me accessories, it wasnt too bad. My item came promptly and as ordered and I am well pleased with the experience. I would order from central digital again."
