"Bought the AMD Athlon XP-M2800+
512MB+80GB+CDRW+LAN+Video sytem on Ebay. Great customer servive, they responded to all emails during the transaction and promptly answered my questions. Came UPS, double boxed and it great condition. Installed WXP and the drivers. The whole buying experience was great and the product is just what they said it was. Will check with them again next time I need a system. Very satisfied. "
"I ordered a gaming computer from these guys and although it is a good system I am disappointed with the service. First I ordered it with a 1 gig ram chip because I had a 1 gig at home to add to it, and they charged me extra for this but when it got to my home it had two 512 chips. Then within one month the power supply went. They were prompt about sending me one but I ordered and upgraded one and the wiring was a bit different. So I emailed them when I got it and asked them to call me or give me a number to call them so they could walk me through replacing it. I must have emailed them 6 times with different questions and problems which took about 2 hours. If they had called me it would have taken less than 30 min. Then the internal card reader had a problem and they wanted me to send it back before they would send me a new one. They only sell them for $15. It would cost me half that to ship it to them. I guess they dont need repeat business or referrals because with attitudes and service like that I can not recommend them. By the way they have now sent me a replacement card reader. Well I am updating this review as of 1/09/2006 and I have yet to actually recieve the card reader that he said he would send. He sent me an email complaining about the review and stated that he had asked for my address so he could send the card reader before I sent the defective one to him. He aksed me to retract the negative statements but I don't see how I can. He so far has been untrustworthy. If you are buying a computer his prices and equipment are good but if you are unlucky enough to be one of us few who have problems look out this is not a service friendly company. You will be dissapointed. I wish I had paid a couple hundred more and went with someone more reputable."
"Thorough and conscientious support both before and after the sale. Product was meticulously prepared. Good value."
"Great prices, and quick service, make eCollegePC a great place to buy a PC. I bought this one for my 19-yr-old son; he did the shopping, but then he showed me what he found. I had to agree - he had found the best price for what he wanted. We ordered the computer and a week later we had it. I was impressed enough that I just ordered a second computer from eCollege for myself. Why waste money and time shopping elsewhere (although I did just to make sure)?"
"EXCELLENT transaction! Unbelievably good customer service. When we buy a new computer, I will buy from this seller.
Thank you!
Teri Henkelman"
"Have purchased over 10 systems from them and always been a satisfied customer. However, I am now officially growing up and going to cease any further activity with them until they can grow up and provide a telephone number. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH SOMEONE THAT REFUSES TO LIST A PHONE NUMBER!!!"
"WOW, what a great shopping shopping experience. After tedious research, I decided on ecollegepc to build my computer. I priced the same components at newegg and was going to build my own but found it was the same price to buy from ecollege and they would build plus FREE SHIPPING. Can't beat that deal. The online ordering was fast & simple and the payment process with PayPal was a breeze. I ordered on a weekend and received an instant email indicating further communication would follow on the next working day. I received an email on Monday from Mike stating the order had been received and would ship in 2-3 business days. Prior to shipping I had a question for Mike and he responded promptly and to my satisfaction via email. Upon completion of the PC build (which was extremely fast) I received an email notifiction stating it was to be shipped and the tracking number. The PC arrived and was securely packaged. The PC ordered included the OS, we merely installed the AGP graphics card we already had, hooked up our own monitor, keyboard & mouse and cable internet service, powered on the PC and were off and running. The great thing about having a custom built PC is that you don't have to deal with all the other software, popups, advertising, etc., that the name brand PC makers include. Most of it you never use and it merely clutters up the system. I am extremely satisfied with our new PC and the prompt and courteous service received from ecollegepc. I would highly recommend ecollege for your your purchase and I will definitely return for additional purchases. This is an A+++ company."
"I bought the Sempron 3000+ Value System for 339.00 It is a very powerful machine at a very reasonable price. It arrived in good shape with all the software needed. I loaded xp on it. It works beautifully.
The tec support was very prompt (within hours by email) and effective.
I wouldn't hesitate to by my next machine from this company."
"The site is easy to use and easy to configure your own system. We received our system on 7/29/05 and everything is installed and working properly. This is a great value especially if you're tech savvy and know what you're doing. I'm not at all tech savvy so I had a lot of questions and exchanged several emails with Mike from eCollegePC.com before and after the purchase. He was always helpful and patient. If you buy an OS with the system, all the drivers will be installed so all you do is hook everything up and turn it on. Everything worked perfectly and it was packaged well so there was no damage during transit. All in all, a very good deal and we are pleased with our purchase. "
"Mike is great for the most part. He responds to question and concern quite quickly. The prices are low and is pretty much the same price as buy the parts separately from newegg.com . The turn around time was quick (roughly 3 days).
However when I received the system, I was shocked. The wire management was horrible to say the least and some things like the front fan was not plugged in. Two corners of the motherboard was not screwed in and was missing the stands. In addition, the motherboard used a 24 pin ATX, but they installed a 20 pin atx on it. When asked about this, the response was that it work. Generally, it does work but word has it that the system is more stable with the 24 pin psu.
The result was that I spent a whole night taking apart the pc and putting it back together. I had to buy another psu ($100) and I needed to buy some supplies (such as screws etc). When I voiced my concerns, I was told by Mike that my PC was built by a new tech that they had just hired.
Overall, I'm not sure if I would buy from ecollegepc.com again. Did I regret the purchase? Not really, since it did cost the same as buying the parts from newegg.com. I guess it really depends which tech builts the computer in the end. "
"This is the 4th awesome system (3 gaming systems & 1 home system) we have purchased from them! We think they are super! Great service before and after the sale! Will buy more from them soon! Telling everyone we know about their great deals!"
"It's been about six months since I bought my computer from here, so I feel it is time for a review.
I bought myself a budget gaming computer for around $600 back in August 2004. It took them about a week to ship it rather than the 2-3 days they advertise, but it's still pretty fast for a custom built comp. When the comp arrived, everything seemed to be in order. I opened it up, checked it out, put my Radeon 9800 Pro in, and proceeded to install Windows. Once everything was set up, I did notice one problem. The little LED light on the front of the case that flashes when there is hard drive activity did not work. And today, it still does not work because I don't know how to fix it. Oh well, minor problem, not a big deal.
Today I am still using this computer and it's still working great. I'm able to play games like Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 with no problem. Aside from the slower-than-advertised shipping and non-working LED light, everything is fine. It's probably the best deal for buying custom PCs online. In fact, just a few weeks ago I told someone to get a computer from here and he did. When he got the computer, everything was cool but he got a 80GB hard drive and he said he thought he ordered a 120. However, he couldn't find his invoice so it will remain a mystery for all eternity.
I would definetely recommend ecollegepc for buying custom PCs. Even though they aren't a huge company (or even moderately large), their prices and service are awesome."
"I got an excellent system from eCollegePC for a great price!
I went to newegg and priced out all the components of my system, and the total price was only $20 less than the priec from eCollegePC. Even using pricegrabber.com, if I ordered all the pieces from the 10 cheapest stores, it would still have only been about $40 less. So basically the build cost only about $20-40. Unbelievable!
Took a few extra days before it shipped because I wanted a graphics card they don't normally deal with, but still the total time from order until it arrived at my door was only 12 days, which I think is outstanding for a custom build.
The components are all new and except for hard drive and memory are the retail versions. I got all of the accessories and software that comes along with them.
The computer was very well packed, being double-boxed. It arrived without a scratch, and booted right up without a problem. I opened up the case to take a look, the build seems very good.
Dealing with Mike was a real pleasure, emails were always polite and it rarely took more than 5 minutes (!) to receive a reply, even late at night. Tracking number was received promptly.
I would recommend them highly, and if I need another pc any time soon I'm going back.
(Note: I purchased through their web site and email, not through ebay, the prices and terms may be different if you use ebay; e.g. on ebay you pay for shipping but through the web site shipping is free. Check out both and see which is cheaper for you.)

"I just want to say I have never bought anything with this kind of value online. The computer I got from ecollege exceeds all my expectations. Everything works purrfectly. If you want to get a really good computer and not pay the Dell prices this is the place. My friend bought a Dell for the more than what I paid and it isn't half the computer. Would recommend this company highly. Can't find my invoice at the present but got a p4 2.8"
"Big problems, and now no response - customer service or tech support.
1- sent completely wrong system, charged S/H
2- Return/replace not expidited
3- Upgraded CPU and Video (Thanks)
4- Video didn't work - gave no support
5- Called vendor, vendor wouldn't support - Card was an "ATI Built for HP card" He gave me an OEM card!!!! (is this legal??)
6- Missing connectors for Video card
7- Missing CD for video card (could download drivers, but the dvd encoder required the original cd - he couldn't produce it for me!!)
8- Missing Keyboard/Mouse/Speakers - will not respond - said he resent them but will not show a tracking number
9- Said he would accept a return on the video card - I want my money back so I can get a retail version
10- HE STOPPED RESPONDING TO ANY OF MY EMAILS - TRIED OTHER ADDRESSES AND HE STILL WILL NOT RESPOND - 6 MONTHS LATER I STILL HAVE NOT RECIEVED K/M/S OR ANY INFO ON RETURN OF VIDEO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Has not resolved on going issues, purchase was bad from the start - I never recieved an order number or conformation, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt but I still have not been satisfied with our dealings.
I had sent many people to his site because he had good prices. Now I wonder if he is selling stollen or second hand goods - I know that he doesn't sell HP machines, so I don't know how he go ahold of an OEM video card from an HP machine??
I purchase a system and upgraded many items and the total was a reasonable price, but I thought that I was purchasing retail versions of the hardware.
Of all the issues and time I spent trying to get this resolved, the thing that makes me the most upset is that he has stopped responding to me!!! I have tried multiple email accounts, I get the auto response AND THEN NOTHING ELSE!!!
