"I ordered some accesories for my DC on their website, it said they were in stock. But after I called the next day, I found my order did not go through. They said its my CC's problem, but it never happened before. After they solve this problem, they found the stuffs I ordered were not in stock. and they promised they would get those stuffs back in stock in 2-3 days, and would ship those to me at that time.

20 days later, I almost forgot my order. After I check the order status, it still was in package. They never shipped it out. I have to cancel it.

"I placed 1 order on Tuesday June 4th, 2002 and a second order on Wednesday morning. A few hours later, I called up etronics to confirm that both orders will ship out that evening, which they acknowledged will.

Then on Thursday, I called up to find out if it had shipped, and of course, it had not. I asked why not, they said they didn't know and promised me it will ship out that day. I asked them then if it REALLY is gonna ship out, or if they are just twisting my leg, they gave me their promise it will ship out. So ok.

Friday, I called them up once again and ask if it had shipped out. They told me that my order from wednesday did ship out though not from them but from the manufacturer (go figure). I asked them why I had not received a tracking #, and they said they'd email it to me in a couple hours. The order from tuesday, they still did not know why it didnt ship out and the customer service rep went to speak with her supervisor (who was not able to come to the phone to speak with me), and he said that the tuesday order is definitely going to ship out. I then yelled at her saying that I've been told that THREE TIMES now, which she responded to by saying that it will ship out and theres nothing more she can do to convince me.

Now its friday, 9pm, I'm about to go out, but figured I'd check to see if the tuesday order had shipped out. NOpe, their status page still shows it hasn't. And guess what? I did not get a tracking # for the wednesday order.

THESE GUYS DON'T KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY ARE DOING. They are located on ESSEX street in nyc... that's like a black market area...

Be very cautious when buying from them...

Anyone who can give me tips as to what to do with these morons, email me at: ****@****

UPDATE: They sent me a FED-EX tracking # and said it shipped on 6/6/02, I called FED-EX today (sunday 6/9/02) they said that the tracking # does NOT exist and it should have been in the system should it have shipped on thursday (6/6/02) or friday (6/7/02)...

Someone else left a comment with these guys (page 5), saying:
"THEY TAKE THEIR SWEET TIME AND DO NOT GIVE A CARE ABOUT YOU. THEIR 'CUSTOMER SERVICE' IS A JOKE AND THEIR SHIPPING DEPARTMENT MUST BE OUT TO LUNCH PERMANANTLY."

He couldn't have said that ANY better... DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS.. They charge your credit card FIRST thing.. whether it ever ships out is a good question... I'm cancelling my order first thing monday and calling up my credit card to dispute charges.

I've been gettin some e-mails asking me how this ended and what they can do since they've found themselves to be in the same situation

There's actually plenty you can do... I ended up calling them up again.. this time yelling at them,
demanding to speak with a supervisor and threatening
to file a complaint with the better business buereau
and with my credit card company (disputing the charges), which would lead into a full investigation into their company...

After all that was said, they put a supervisor on the phone and he told me that they had just credited my first order that had never shipped out (which ended up
true as i noticed it on my credit card statement a few weeks later) and secondly he said he would e-mail me the tracking # for the second order as soon as he finds out what happened to it... i told him that he had 5 minutes to find out where that tracking # is and email it to me and that if it was not in my box in 5 mins, i was calling the credit card company right at that second and disputing
the charge.

In the end, he came through and e-mailed me the tracking #, and i received the item purchased.. (however, i don't think it ever shipped from them, i think they simply had it shipped from another distributor [this what they tried telling me, i think] looks brand new, still works, never had a problem... I'm
happy with the product at the price i paid for, but the sheer aggravation was not worth it.

Try doing what I did, if you don't act aggressive.. they won't care.. if you paid by credit card, simply call up and dispute the charge.. let them handle it.
(but first go through etronics with some yelling and threatning because they most likely will ask you what actions were taken to solve the problem with merchant on your own)

"Here is my first (and last) experience with Etronics.com:

Did a mysimon search for a handheld GPS I wanted (Garmin eMap). Etronics
had the lowest price by a large margin. The site seemed
fairly professional, but I was nervous because the price
was so low.

I called the sales line and asked simply if the product was
new or refurbished. "New" was the answer. "Not refurbished?"
I asked. "No, new."

I placed the order via the website, which arrived very quickly,
moderately well packed.

I opened the box. The first thing that came out was a slip of
paper from the manufacturer congratulating me on purchasing
a refurbished GPS, and, by the way, the warranty is only 90 days.

I immediately called the Etronics customer service line.
Even though the web site indicated that office hours were 9-5 EST,
I got the "our office is now closed" recording until almost 10AM EST.

When I got through (after 20 minutes on hold), I explained that I had
received a refurbished unit. "Oh no, we don't sell refurbished units,
only new" I was told. "How do you know it's refurbished?" I was asked.

I explained about that piece of paper, and was told that the refurb must
have been included in their shipment "by mistake".

I requested an RMA number, which arrived by email that afternoon.
I shipped it the next morning, USPS Priority, Insured, with delivery
confirmation.

USPS indicated that delivery was attempted the next day (Saturday), but
there was no one there to accept it. USPS would leave a notice or
attempt to redeliver it.

Having not received a delivery notification from Etronics by Thursday,
I called again (25 minutes on hold). I explained that the package
should have arrived, did they have it?

After checking with the warehouse, I was told that my package had indeed
arrived, but there had been a "problem" sending out the notification.
At that point I requested a refund on the basis of not receiving what
I had ordered, a NEW GPS.

My CC was credited for the sales price (not including shipping) within 5
days.

The customer service people were polite, and actions they took (sending
the RMA, crediting my account) were timely. The hold time was excessive.
I have my doubts about the "order fulfillment" side of the business.

It doesn't matter, as I won't give them a chance to screw me again.

"I did not enjoy the service this company brings. I ordered 2 items from this company, the first was TS-A1767 (6 3/4in 3 way speakers) & the second item was the DEH-P440 (head unit). Both are Pioneer products. When purchasing them it said they were in stock. I order these items on 4/5/02. I was waiting for them to email me back to tell me it was shipped, it was not. I called one week later on friday April 12, 2002. The operator told me that my head unit was not in stock, so I told her to upgrade me to the next option which was the DEH-P630, she complied. I ask her and she told me that it should be sent on that same day. It had arrived at UPS in CA. The morning they were suppose to be delivered the shipment, they were not able to find the address. I called UPS and was told to pick it up. I went on monday 4/22/02 and they told me that their in the shipping process. It arrived at my home the next day. I had a horrible experience with this company and will probably not shop at etronics again. I also was not happy to read that I had only a month to return these items, considering that the month was almost over."

"In my attempt to purchase a set of Sony home theater speakers, I chose Etronics because of their low price. They were $100 cheaper than any other web site I found. Unfortunately after waiting for almost 7 weeks, I gave up and canceled my order. At the 3 week point, I inquired via email and received a response from Phillip stating that my order had just come in stock and would be shipped shortly. At the 5 week point I inquired again, and received a nearly identical email from Phillip. At the 6 week point I called their customer service line and was told that my speakers were still on order, and had never been "in stock". I also discovered that my VISA was charged 3 days after I placed my order...not at the time of shipping as their web site promises. Then it took them almost a week to recredit my VISA after I cancelled my order. Sure wish I could have gotten those speakers at that price...but it wasn't worth the headache anymore. "

"I placed an on-line order with htis company on 4 Apr 02, and received an email from them on 7 Apr 02, telling me to contact my bank to let them know that I have such a big order (2 items totaling $1,350.94) and to give them a reference number. I thought my order was being processed and these guys a playing footsy with it. I suggested in an email message that they add this requirement to their order form. They wasted my time but caused me to do a little more research. I then found the same items for $1,173.69. I would recommend that others not deal with this company. I have purchsed on the Internet for more than fifteen years and have never been asked to contact my bank. I purchased a jeep worth $9,000.00 and did not contact my credit card company."

"I purchased a Sony Home Theater system, a Sony Camcorder and several accessories from Etronics. Other merchants had lower prices on the big ticket items but doubled the price of the accessories. Overall Etronics was the best value. My only compliant was that they ran out of stock of a Memory Stick I ordered and didn't notify me. I had to call them and find out, but afterward they shipped all of the in-stock items and sent a separate package with the Memory Stick and did not charge for shipping. Also they gave me store credit for a price drop that occurred after I ordered but before my products shipped and their shipping was extremely fair ($49 for nearly 100 pounds worth of shipment). I would definitely use Etronics again."

"I ordered a set of Pentax 10x42 DCW WP binoculars that were marked on the site as being "USA" versions with a limited lifetime warranty. What I got was a set marked as being a "UK" version with a 10-year warranty in the UK. When I contacted Pentax, I was told that these were "grey market" and that I actually had no warranty at all. When I contacted Etronics, they offered to take them back for a refund but would not send me in writing confirmation that I would not be hit with a restocking fee. I asked for an exchange for a pair of the "USA" versions and was told that they only had the "UK" versions. If they know this, why did they so clearly state otherwise on their site? I'm very disappointed. If I get hit with reshipping or restocking fees, I'm going to be very angry."

"Great seller. I bought online and in the comments said, "No accessories needed" and got no telephone hassles.

Email confirmation from Etronics.Com of delivery to UPS was within hours and inclued a link to a UPS tracking # so I could follow the package from NY to CA. Order was placed on a Monday morning and arrived a week later. The package was well packed and I got extra, unexpected, goodies...CD, cassette and VCR cleaners!

The Epson 3100z digital was a reasonable price and the shipping, handling and insurance was, again, a reasonable price of $15.

The product was new, still sealed and all accessories intact in the box. The camera had a US warranty.

The return address was "Surpreme V+E" and not Etronics. Would that be Surpreme Video and Electronics? I think so.

I'd deal with them again! It was worth the $30 extra I paid to a reliable company to get my product.
