"I ordered a dvd player from these guys. It was a good price on a good player that is being phased out. I used a CC. My mailing address looks a bit odd (no actual street address but is still valid - UPS, FexEd, USPS all deliver to it) so I usually add my lot number to the address so people dont think its messed up. big mistake. Well, the CC company flagged the order because shipping and billing addresses did not match. eTronics wanted me to get my credit card notated (what ever the hell that is) so I told them to use my actual billing address as the shipping address and resubmit it (which I've done a few times when the seller worries about that sort of thing). Not this time. the bone head I was dealing with there just kept repeating his email. even after I had him confer with his supervisor. I finally demanded that they cancel the order and mentioned that I would make sure to submit a review. That got their attention. They agreed to ship me the unit and give me free 3 day express (wow, big bargain). I got the unit in 4 days - sigh. UPS was to blame, though. Packaging was poor and the box looked like ace ventura did the delivery but it works fine. so, I'm sorta, kinda satisfied.
Note, they push you to pricegrabber for a review right after you finish ordering off their site. This accounts for why the pricegrabber ratings are much higher than RR. (8.5 vs 5-ish) sigh. thank you RR for being honest!!!!"

My products shipped within 1 business day and arrived exactly when the online estimator said they would. The only downside was that the packing was not that great. "Everything started out fine. Received an e-mail telling me that the Minolta Dimage 7Hi was now in stock. Called to order and spoke to Ralph, who was helpful and not a high pressured salesman. He confirmed that my entire order was in stock (camera, IBM microdrive, warrantee extension, and camera bag). I upgraded shipping to air because I am leaving the country in one week. Order placed on Friday, 10 Jan 2003. He advised me that my order would ship Monday but to call customer service Monday to confirm that everything went through okay. Also, their posted policy is that they do not charge credit cards until the order is shipped. I had to divide my order between a credit and debit card. Called Monday 13 Jan as suggested, and was told by customer service "Sarah" that my camera was on "back-order". I told her about the e-mail notification and Ralph's confirmation of "in stock" and when she checked, she said the "one camera they had was damaged and that the cameras are back-ordered at Minolta". I informed her that I would have to cancel my entire order and purchase locally. I then learned that they had indeed charged my credit and debit cards, even though they could not fulfill my order. Said they had to do that because I used two cards instead of one. Then said she would e-mail me a refund confirmation as we spoke. When it didn't arrive, I called Ralph. He checked, and told me that they had to wait until my paperwork arrived from the warehouse, but that when it did, my refund would be processed, probably before the close of business that day, but that it all hinged on them receiving the paperwork. Fine. Tuesday, 14 Jan, still no e-mail confirmation. Called customer service again and was told that they had my paperwork and that my refund would be processed after business hours, and that the funds would hit my bank that night, and that I would receive e-mail confirmation that night or first thing this morning. Didn't happen. Called back on Wed 15 Jan, and this time was told that my refund would be processed by supervisor "Leo Landau" and that he would send me e-mail confirmation AFTER he had confirmed that "everything went through alright" in 1 to 2 more days. I'm still waiting for my money but have contacted my credit card company to begin charge dispute, as I will my bank for debit card charge. I have printout from their website detailing order and confirmation of "Do Not Ship CM Cancelled" I will update you as to when and how I get my refund. Now, without jumping to any conclusions, here is my analysis and criticism of Etronics.com. "Ralph" was courteous and helpful, but could use a lesson on telephone etiquette. You don't answer a business line with "hello", and "yeah". He did not pressure me to buy accessories, and in fact tried to close the sale more than once and I had to tell him "I'm not finished yet." He was helpful and provided a means for me to contact him directly with any questions, problems, etc. Etronics should have notified me that they could not ship the camera. They didn't. If I had not called, the order would not have been filled in a timely manner, and when and if it ever did get filled, it would have shipped via air when it was already too late. Perhaps the camera in stock was damaged, and there was no way for Ralph in sales to have known that. I would much rather they not send a damaged camera rather than to have sent a bad one. Perhaps their customer service representatives are merely poorly informed about the process and timeliness of refunds. I should have been informed that in my case the policy of "no charge until shipped" was not going to apply. I was not, and in fact was told the opposite. I had intended to purchase my extended warrantee and accessories from Etronics.com, after getting my camera locally, but now I will purchase (have purchased) them locally because of the fiasco. Perhaps I am giving Etronics too much credit, and perhaps they are scam artists, but that final declaration will have to wait until I see how and when I finally get my refund, which I WILL get. Will update you as information unfolds.
UPDATE! !7 Jan. Still no refund. They were still taking my debit funds on 15 Jan. Now I am told that refund would be processed "as soon as possible", and that it would "show up on my credit card. CAVEAT EMPTOR!!
UPDATE!! Credit card refund transaction completed on 21 January. Debit card refund yet to be confirmed. Assume it too has been processed but will notify you if problems."

Well I've finally got my package.
Per the UPS tracking number it was sent out 1/8/03 7 day ground -- the customer service guy either lied or shipping hosed up.
It was on my doorsteep 1/14/03. Because of this I had to pull a favor with my neighbor to get my package while I was out on a trip. The irony it was in a normal box that had a UPS NextDay padded envelope wrapped around my stuff.

"I had a very poor experience with this company. I made a $500.00 order on 12-09-2002. This was suppose to be a Christmas present. The price was good, shipping was reasonable. My order showed up on 12-16-02. When UPS delivered it, the box was smashed, most of the packing material was gone. I should have refused delivery, but the UPS driver left before I could inspect it. There was no packing slip and only one of the items I ordered was inside the box. To add insult to injury, there was a box of shoes from Footlocker.com inside my order. Unnown who they belong too. Tried calling the company and cannot get through the phone lines. I sent them an email and they have not replied. I will have to dispute this order with my credit card company. Right now, I have a large smashed box in my living room with someone's shoe order in it. The following is the email I sent to the company with no response.

Today UPS delivered me a large damaged box from you. All the packing material had spilled out and there little packing left to protect the contents. The box contained the JBL BP1200.1 1200-Watt Subwoofer Amplifier I ordered, but not the two Alpine SWR-1221D 12" Type-R Series Subwoofers To make matters worse, the box contained a pair of shoes from foot locker which I did not order.
It appears the box opened up somewhere during shipping and the contents spilled out. Please send me an RMA. This is unacceptable. I am attaching two photos of the conditons of the box and the contents. I also intend to send this box back the same way you sent it to me. (without any packing material) So if the JBL Amplifier comes back damaged, consider yourselves the cause of the damage. The shoes from footlocker will also be in the box.
I cannot believe your company did such a poor job packing a $500.00 order. If you are willing to ship me the proper order in acceptable packaging, I will still accept. But I still want to RMA this JBL Amplifier, because the way it was packaged, it is probably internally damaged.
If I don't hear back from you within 48 hours, I will dispute this with my credit card company and shop somewhere else. Please look at the attached photos
Follow Up Posting
This following is a follow up post to my original post made 12-17-02.
I received an email response back from CSR Supervisor Leo Landau at Etronics. He apologized for the condition of the order. And because this was a Christmas gift, Mr. Landau offered to resend the order via Air Shipping at Etronic’s expense so the order will get here in time for Christmas. UPS will also be inspecting and picking up the damaged order.
It appears this order was packaged correctly by the company and the order was damaged during shipping from New York to California. Although my initial experience with Etronics was poor, it appears this may be an isolated incident. In fairness to the company, I have to say their customer service has been outstanding and they appear to be customer oriented. I received their email response in less than 24 hours.
This is an update regarding my order from Etronics.com.
UPS came by my house on 12-20-02 and picked up the damaged order. They found a tracking number in the box for the shoes from Footlocker. Hopefully, that person will receive his shoe order now.
Etronics did reship my order via (3) day air at their expense. The order did arrive before Christmas on 12-23-02. It was undamaged this time, but only half the order arrived; the other half was missing. I called UPS customer service, and they advised me Etronics never shipped the other half of the order.
I sent an email to Etronics customer service. They replied back the next morning and apologized. They even offered to resend the order a third time if I would recharge it to my credit card a third time. I declined and canceled the entire order.
Since I needed the entire order to make this system work, I decided to ship the partial order back to the company. I will even be doing this at my own expense so I can get some closure to this episode. I will be using Fed Ex for shipping.
My evaluation of this company is as follows. Great prices, great selection, reasonable shipping, good customer service, but no guarantee you will ever receive what you ordered. I only hope they will credit my credit card back. I will not do business with this company again.

Ordered a Yamaha HTR-5560 ($327) receiver on Mon 12/9/2002 around 10:00 PM. I also opted for the 2-year Phillips service warranty. The site told me that they had a 1-2 day wait to get stock. I’m cool with that, the price is awesome. I’d normally pay $450-$500 in retail stores.
By 10:00 pm, I had received a confirmation e-mail that the order was placed.
Website is easy, fast and convenient. Shipping is expensive! $32 to ship ground is silly. The receiver is heavy, but not THAT heavy.

I check the status (I’m excited about getting my receiver). I click on my tracking number and wait a minute or so. It’s a slow look up, but then again, UPS is involved. The link tells me that my package is scheduled for delivery on December 13, 2002.
December 13, 2002 I come home in the afternoon after work, a nice big box sitting on my front door. I open the box, and it’s filled with packing peanuts. I brush those aside and I find the factory box with my new receiver (which is packaged VERY WELL!). So this has been a very positive experience. I got a great receiver for an awesome price. I paid a little too much on shipping, but in a time right before Christmas where some estores can’t seem to get it together, etronics came through (with UPS ground no less). Thank you etronics and I will tell everyone about this very positive experience. "
