"Overall, battery works and capacity is as advertised, but install experience is not seamless, and battery is not recognized by iOS. iPhone shows "Service" under Battery menu in Settings, but other apps recognize the capacity, and battery % indicator is accurate. The adhesive strips provided didn't detach from plastic backing properly, and I was unable to use them. Phone is back to life and that's what matters. "
"The parts was out of stock here when I first needed it. Instead, I bought a battery replacement from another online place that didn't show much juice to start with and became so heated and short-lifed (2 hours after a full charge) in a month. The new replacement is giving the phone with one and half days with moderate use. I have a good feeling it will last."
"The checkout was simple and iFixit helped me along the way by letting me know what parts work with my computer and which ones don't. I mostly ordered tools to remove the pesky and proprietary Torx screws hiding around my MacBook, but while I was digging around, I also bought a few parts that needed replacing. The shipping included tax (I live in California) and took about a week, although their warehouse is 200 miles south of where I live. If you have a name brand computer, like essentially any Apple product, the Microsoft Surface Pro, or even a handful of American-brand vehicles, this is the place to do it. (Note: They're an electronic parts seller, and write guides on teardowns and fixes. They don't offer coilovers and turbochargers, just guides, and for cars, they're often community written.) "
"Thought the digitizer wouldn’t work....it did real well!!"
"Had the part I needed, easy to find, simple checkout, arrived on time and well packaged. "
"The fix took awhile but it was successful. For a person unfamiliar with iPhone technology, iFixit made sure they covered every step. The tools were paramount in this effort. Thanks for saving me tons of money!"
"Non-OEM parts. There's a bump on every bezel where they don't mesh, the screen is much dimmer, touch response is way worse — I can't even play finger-sensitive games anymore.
Instructions were not correct — there were many discrepancies in the steps and how they should have been executed.
Worst of all, the phone now reboots constantly when I touch the screen. Sometimes I can't even keep it open for a few minutes before it reboots. It reboots just as I touch the screen every time.
Very disappointed."
"My tools and parts were delivered within a week (lithium battery for a Nexus P6, ground transport only) and I plan to complete the repair soon. This is the forth or fifth battery replacement I've purchased from iFixit. Their instructions for disassembly and replacement are efficient and reliable. They have helped keep two 5 Gen iPods from around the turn of the century going since the OEM batteries failed. "
"Online video and instructions was very helpful and was very easy to understand, Thankyou."
"We were replacing the battery in an iPhone 5s. I wish the repair kit would include 2 sets of adhesive strips. We've never done anything like this before. We messed up the strips. But good news is, we used some double-sided tape to hold the battery in there for now, it is almost fully charged and the phone works! And THAT seems nothing short of amazing! I'm not looking forward to ordering more adhesive strips and doing this all over again, but that seems like the best thing to do??
I do love your mission of helping people make their own repairs. The online guides were awesome. And we are a couple of regular, non-tech savvy people. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is I think maybe the kits should come with a spare set of strips? Or, people should be encouraged to order an extra set the first time (something like "65% of people mess up the strips, so consider ordering an extra set" might be helpful). "
"The battery is authentic and works perfectly. Worth the purchase. "
"Iphone 6s front panel assembly went pretty much without a hitch except...
For some (maybe all) models the front assembly camera that IFixit supplies is not compatible with the Iphone. When using generic front assembly from ifixit, phone went into restart loop, only way to alleviate this was to swap out front camera and sensor with original camera and sensor. Seems to be a know problem and IFixit should make consumers aware that even purchasing the front panel assembly might (will?) require swapping out with original camera."
"This was a difficult repair but the iFixit instructions were detailed and helped me to solve the problem. My microphone is now working fine!"
"Perfect fit and quality. Thanks"
