"First, the selection is small even though there are different configurations available based on #'s of boxes you would need like for several houses using the same mailbox locations.
I'm very satisfied with my mailbox and the post. Only 3 stars for quality because of the mounting screws used to secure the box to the arm on the post. The screws are of soft, too soft!, material and one of the heads stripped when installing. Had to crank it the rest of the way in with vise grips!!! But it's in there and it's not coming back out without a fight. Note for installers and dyi'ers, give the screw threads a drop of oil before installing. Don't know if it was burrs in the threads or what. Also, the nylon sleeves for the screws cause them to bind as well so maybe ream them out just a little before installing. Even better would be to provide bolts for installation rather than screws since it is easier to get a wrench or ratchet and socket in there instead of a short screwdriver."

"When it came time for a new mailbox I searched the big home improvement stores and online. What I found was all retailers have the same assortment ranging from regular basic metal boxes to much more expensive plastic and cast aluminum, but none came close to what I wanted.
Finally I happened to find mailboxes.com, read the description of the construction and materials in their mailboxes and chose the Rural Mailbox and the Deluxe Post. In my opinion this is the best mailbox on the market.
Even better is the post. it's the same heavy aluminum construction, not a plastic sleeve to slip over a wood post. We installed the post according to directions and the results are a beautiful solid mailbox. You do need have skills working with concrete to set the post or find help. We used five 60lb bags of sakcrete in approximately a 12x18x24 inch footing."
