After installing a 3G ipod battery on my own and getting no response from the ipod, I walked in last Saturday to have a friendly tech reinstall a new battery (I believe the initial one was defective). On the spot! Later, after charging this one with no luck, a friendly (and patient) service person explained the proper way to charge the unit (fire wire v. wall). I couldn't be more appreciative.
