"The general experience is lacking due to indifferent customer relations and service. Live online chat agents are a lot less patient and demonstrate less courtesy than on other domains. The lack of easy-access telephone inquiry option for customers can be irritating. Being unable to edit pending/unpaid deliveries is annoying and obstructive. I use Hermes for specific parcels due to cost-benefits, but the service is unreliable as damage rates remain high compared to other carriers. Hermes being totally out of sync with Ebay's 60-day claim window (Hermes allow 30 days) means I am in constant danger of fiscal losses. Additionally, when my deliveries are destroyed or lost, then only the flat-rate postage is reimbursed, and I always have to absorb losses of expensive quad poster tubes (unit cost £1.50-£2) that have been smashed."
