"Hi! First of all, I was a little skeptical on purchasing the chair site unseen (Steelcase Leap 2). Fortunately the chair was PERFECT!
This is my experience:
Placed order and received the chair in about 2 weeks. Actually received it a day earlier than thought. Came in a SUPER sturdy box, which my daughter is now using as a fort, ha ha. It came in three parts, the back and seat, the coasters and stand, and the gas cylinder. All were bubble wrapped and well taken care of.
Assembly was a breeze. I had my daughter help me line up the arrows on the cylinder and chair, but that was it.
Took me about 5 mins to make all the setting on the chair.
This is a refurbish chair, but looks absolutely brand new (no scratches, no apparent rework).

BUYER BEWARE AVOID AT ALL COST!!! I Was Sold An Old Rusted Counterfeit SteelCase Chair Sold As New/Open Box
"I purchased a chair from Madison Seating through eBay (eBay Auction #133687347681). The seller advertised the chair as "New/Open Box" with a 10-year warranty. However, what I received was a poorly refurbished chair assembled with a mix of old, rusted parts and counterfeit components. The manufacturer's date label on the bottom of the chair was nowhere to be found.
When I contacted the seller to request a return and refund, they informed me that I was not eligible for a return or warranty claim and stated that I would need to bear the cost of returning the chair. I then contacted SteelCase directly and inquired about the so called warranty, SteelCase said no such warranty existed. Following this, I reached out to my bank and initiated a dispute. After filing the dispute, Madison Seating obtained my phone number and began calling me, and attempting to harass me into canceling it with my bank. I had to file a formal complaint with Ebay to get them to stop.
If you find yourself in a similar situation, I recommend contacting your bank first and then reporting the issue directly to Steelcase. Madison Seating has previously been sued by both Herman Miller and Steelcase for selling counterfeit products. The more people who report such incidents, the better."
"I've used Madison Seating on three separate occasions. The first time was in 2020 and it all went fairly smooth and the chair had some flaws but for the value I was fine with it. Unfortunately that chair broke in 2021 and had to stop using it. I purchased the same chair in 2021 and have not had any issues with it. The quality was a little better than the one purchased in 2020. The last chair and reason for my review was purchased in 2023. The chair arrived and cosmetically looked just as good as the second chair. The issue was with the stability of the back. You can hear the chair making noises when leaning back and it was not supporting my back as firmly as the past two chairs did. Since Madison offers a 30 Day money back guarantee I requested a return. They expect me to pay for a return of a defective item. Instead of arguing with them I simply told them I will eat the cost as a business expense. Stay away from this company. They are not operating in good faith."

"I purchased an open-box HumanScale Freedom chair from Madison Seating. Their shipping was fast and the packaging was impeccable. Solid double walled container, full bubble wrap, etc. The chair itself was very lightly used (i.e. as described) and it's going to be a great choice.
The only problem was the chair's frame had a hidden fracture in it. The Madison Seating Team responded to my message within 24 hours and has offered me a replacement. Very happy with my decision to purchase from Madison Seating"

"I bought a pre-owned Steelcase chair from Madison Seating through their eBay store. When I received the product it had a broken back support. When I reached out to Madison Seating's customer support they were very quick to reply (within minutes).
Rather than me having to repackage and send the chair back, they sent me a whole replacement chair.

"I ordered my office chair, received confirmation for the order promptly & it was delivery as promised. Upon setting up the chair, I noticed a popping noise when I moved while sitting or adjusting my sitting position. I emailed Madison Seating & they responded asking for a video to verify this. I sent the video and received a quick reply. They apologized for the inconvenience & offered to replace my chair. My chair is extremely comfortable & fully adjustable - just what I needed for working from home, seated, full-time. Customer service like this is hard to come by these days. I’ll definitely be a repeat customer!"
"They sent me a chair with a missing part (it's the tilt arm, chair is unusable without it). They claimed it was described on the website as missing that piece. NOT TRUE, they can't provide the listing showing that was how it was listed for sale. It was one of 5 I purchased and other 4 were complete. Refusing to replace. INCREDIBLE. The have offered a return at my shipping cost, which would cost me more than I paid for the chair. If you purchase just be aware that the guarantee is a SHAM and all sales are final with them."
"Through the nature of my role, I have been purchasing chairs from Madison Seating over the past 7 years. I have actually stopped looking around on other sites due to the fact Madison Seating offers name brand chairs at a price that is far better than competitors. Of the many chairs I have purchased only had two issues that needed to be addressed and both times Madison Seating offered resolutions I was happy with. I will continue using them as new chairs are needed."
"I would give zero stars if I could. I ordered a chair that was $700, open box. Upon receipt of the chair, it was defective. The settings for height and recline would not lock, thus I could not keep the chair in a position that supported my ergonomic needs. Upon return, Madison required that I ship the chair back paying for least expensive shipping route. I sent in the receipts for the shipping because it was almost $170 just to return ship via UPS ground (I shopped around). Madison Seating's response to my request for reimbursement was:
"The novelty with Madisonseating.com is that we sell brand name ergonomic office chairs for practically half the retail price and include free shipping. This way customers that normally cannot afford an ergonomic chair, can buy one at a more reasonable price.
With these prices and free shipping, we are unable to offer free returns. We do not reimburse for the return shipping costs under our 30 day return policy."
I will never do business with this company again. I was punished for broken furniture as the customer and in this economy, I don't just have $170 to throw away when I have a family to feed. I'll continue going to the other LARGE online retailer who knows that customer service is what makes people return. This was the worst customer service ever!"
