"we have been using lastpass for years and use two-factor authentication with google authenticator. I could not be happier with the convenience of being able to use 20 digit completely random passwords on all of my accounts and while only remembering one master password and having my phone.
as a paying customer their customer service always provides rapid and accurate responses."
"I have to say that i buy a lot from amazon and rarely have problems, in fact it is nearly always a good experience. but when there is a problem their customer service seems worthless so i am giving them a poor rating simply because of their customer service. Case in point--Our credit card company saw some funny charges so they stopped that day's charges and reissued the card. unfortunately we had some orders that had just shipped from amazon and they completely freaked out. They sent emails with specific instructions to add the replacement credit card to our account and then reply with the email with the last 2 digits of the new credit card to change the billing over. Great except they also froze our account so we could not get in. Several calls and emails to customer service were no help as everyone says they cannot unlock the account. over a week later and we are still in this endless loop. pathetic. Every one of our other vendors handled this in a much more professional manner while amazon came across as being clueless."
"having grown up in the pacific northwest i was fortunate to discover REI in the '70 and have been a faithful customer since then. Good quality equipment, their return policy is borderline insane, and the prices fair."
"I see others complaining about build.com but it seems that most complaints would be eliminated if people contacted build.com before ordering if the order is time sensitive. Build.com is not stocking all the items on the website. it seems they take the order and then pass this along to the manufacturer for fulfillment. in some cases i expect that the manufacturer's inventory count is off or there have been sales since the inventory was updated. we have placed several orders with build.com and their associated websites for our new house amounting to tens of thousands of dollars and have never had a hitch. of course we always get on chat with them first to make sure that items their website says is in inventory is in fact there. sometimes it takes until the next day to confirm if the manufacturer is on the east coast and has closed for the day. I have no complaints with build.com and no reservations about ordering from them."
"Newark is not usually our first choice since the usual suspects (digikey and mouser and sometimes allied) usually have lower prices. but once in a while Newark seems to have an item that nobody else has or for some reason it is cheaper than the others. We haven't had any problems that i can recall with their shipping speed as long as the item is in stock. right now free shipping for orders over some amount so i haven't noticed if their shipping is more expensive than the others."
"Our website was blacklisted and we seemed to be the last to know when gmail started bouncing emails back. our webhost said it was because of an outdated software version and fixed the immediate problem. They recommended Sucuri to us to search the site and check for blacklisting. we were impressed enough to sign up for this as a service. At one point google flagged our site as having a virus (outdated software again) and sucuri fixed the problem without extra charge just as they promised and within a few hours. so we have become believers in subscribing to this as a service in general and with Sucuri's performance in particular."
"Personally, i thought this was a lot to spend for a doorbell. but the product is indeed beautiful and my spouse is very happy with it. they shipped within a couple of days."
"We just received an order we placed with Unique POS for some smoke detectors. the order was for about $500 and all items were indicated by their website to be in stock and ready for immediate shipping. since they had poor reviews on reseller ratings, we decided to use their live-chat to discuss with them before ordering. When talking to them we discovered that one item was not in stock after all. I went ahead and placed the order after reading them the riot act and telling them my concern because they had poor reviews. (they blamed the poor reviews on reseller ratings because they had recently stopped their subscription to reseller ratings.) At any rate i let them know that if anything went wrong with this order that we would be the first to leave a bad review. In the end, they agreed to ship partial so the items that were promised to be in stock did in fact ship the same day and arrived safely today. we are still waiting for the last item but we are not expecting it for another week. If we had not contacted them before placing the order we would have had the same experience as some other reviewers waiting for items that should have shipped immediately but were, in fact, not in stock.
In short, we feel that we can trust them with a larger order next time but we will certainly get on their live-chat to confirm everything is in stock.
The items that were back ordered arrived as promised the next week. so i did bump up their review a little for overall satisfaction and customer service. At this point the only concern was that their website promised things that were actually not in inventory, but that is not unique to this seller."
"Yea, our experience with namescout was the same as the other reviewer. we registered a *.cn domain with them and were very surprised to learn a month later that someone else had registered the same domain. we were extremely dissapointed with the 'oops' response we got from them and it took a couple of months to get a refund. the domain name, of course, was lost forever."
"We really like MSCs choice of products and that they specify the brands of all the item (vs mcmaster for example). it is nice that they differentiate domestic products from imports so you can decide to buy American if the mood strikes. We also like their catalog and quick shipping. Our only beef is that many times their specials like free shipping or some % discount often exclude the items we are looking to buy but we understand they are free to limit discounts so we can't hold that against them. We used to buy a lot from MSC but have found that without a 20% coupon we can get the same products from other sources for much less."
"Mouser usually has good prices, we don't like their online experience (especially their search) but that is our biggest complaint. as others have said, shipping is extra high compared to other electronics suppliers and there really isn't any reason why they can't show shipping costs in the shopping cart like 99% of other online suppliers. Overall, we are not excited enough with mouser to make them our default supplier, we always shop and compare to allied and digikey before any order."
"I thought everybody bought things from uline so i am surprised they only have 2 reviews. At any rate, we have nothing but good things to say about them and we have been buying from uline for years. it helps that they have multiple warehouses so shipping is quick and not too expensive.
After placing an order online for a bunch of wire shelving, we received a call saying they were out of a particular item but we could save lots of money if we ordered the exact same items but in a different way (i.e., order different 'shelving units' that had different quantities of the individual items but taken as a whole order the quantities of everything came out the same as our original order). Not too many online suppliers will call you to say you can save money like this."
"I hate to give too high or too low a review when we have only placed a single order with a company. we placed an order with pro telecom supply (around $100) on a friday and it shipped the following wednesday. not the speediest but not the slowest either. We would feel comfortable placing a larger order but would like a little more history with them before going over several hundred dollars in one order."
"we used to purchase a lot from cables to go and have not had any trouble with the purchase, shipping, or customer support. We have found a lower cost supplier for these types of products so for the most part we have not been purchasing from C2G for the last year or so. Our only complaint was their shopping cart on their website would be deleted now and again and it would lose order history, etc. so their IT seems to be in poor shape but products are good. we have no problems or concerns with placing larger orders with cables to go."
"I don't know how long B&B has been in business but it seems that we have been buying things from them for decades. We have never had a problem and the products works as advertised. their documentation is useful and it is nice that they keep the documentation on their website for download even long after a product has been retired."
