Difficult website, hard to cancel, incapable Customer Service
"I signed up for a DNA Kit, responding to a special for $59. They charge $9.95 shipping and $1 for a 3-month trial of their 'World Explorer' membership. I found their site really complicated, hard to navigate and confusing. Even trying to locate return/refund information was impossible. It took 3(!) calls to their Customer Service line to get a return label. Each person gave me different information: --The first person, Zimmian, said he'd email me a return label and that I'd get a full refund including shipping, no restocking fee. --The second person, Katrina, sounded half asleep and repeatedly asked me questions I'd already answered, such as why I was calling. She directed me to a webpage to print a label for sending samples to Ireland. --The third person, Lennardo, was able to direct me to a webpage that gave me a return label for a refund, but said I would not get my shipping fees back and there would be a restocking charge. He was actually incredibly rude, talking over me, and humming loudly while I navigated to the webpage. Congratulations, Ancestry.com! You have achieved a new low in customer service!"

Should have read these reviews first
"I ordered several 3/4 sleeve T shirts, all cotton, for a great price. They came quickly - but they were obviously used! They all smelled of perfume and one smelled of body odor too. Yech! Never again."

Sent used clothing, didn't give full refund
"These people take customer service to a new low. My order had garments that smelled of perfume and cigarette smoke and they refused to issue a full refund. Stay away from them."

Zero quality control, false advertising
"Returns aren't easy and free as advertised. If you buy something sold by a third party seller, you can't return it to the store and Walmart won't process a return/refund. You have to go through the seller. This is not disclosed on the website. I received defective merchandise. When I went to the website to process a return/refund, the website errored out when trying to create a return label. I called the 800# (which is not listed on their website, by the way) and reached their customer service dept, asking them to send me a return label. Well, it turns out that the product I bought was sold by a 3rd party seller so now I am stuck waiting for them to respond. Also, the items can't be returned to a store. The CSR I reached had such a heavy accent he was hard to understand. This is shameful behavior by a company with such ample resources."

Took a while to reach them but then they were okay
"These guys sell paper products made of recycled materials, bamboo and other renewables, delivered to your door. They offer a 30-day money back guarantee with free shipping both ways. I placed an order, received it in a timely fashion. So far so good. I didn't like the products I received. The recycled toilet paper has the texture of paper towels and the paper towels are thin and narrow. Definitely not worth the premium price. They offer a 30-day money back guarantee with free shipping in both directions. There's no phone number, the only way to contact them is via email. Their response to my request for a return label was an auto-responder with a link to a video of a turtle playing with a ball and "Someone from our Customer Happiness team will be in touch to help out as soon as possible." Then nothing. I emailed several times and never received another response. (Yes, I did check my spam filters). Finally I found their Facebook page and messaged them there. They replied about 12 hours later. They had issued a refund, no returns necessary, and all is well. I took off 2 stars because they didn't respond to emails or have a way to phone them."

If you dispute a charge with these guys, they'll send the charge to a collection agency!
"I just had an issue with this online clothing store that is a first. Back in October, I put a charge from them in dispute with my credit card company. The credit card company issued a purchase adjustment while they sorted it out with the merchant. Fullbeauty then issued a refund. So far, so good, right? Well, today (March 11) I receive a letter from an outfit called 'National Recovery Agency' claiming I owe Fullbeauty for that order! It took me over 2 hours on the phone with Fullbeauty.com to sort it out. They never contacted my credit card company to reverse the provisional credit and get their money, they just sent the charge to a collections agency. Never contacted me either. Nice folks, eh? I'm a large woman and I shop at this place because they carry hard to find large sizes. Most of their stuff is overpriced junk, and hardly any of it matches the pictures on their website, but occasionally I'll find something acceptable. If you shop there, sign up for their shoppers club for $19. That will get you $2.99 shipping for any order, plus free returns. And check out coupons online. And be careful if you put anything in dispute with your credit card company with this outfit!"

Sells bootleg products, didn't give full refund
"I found this website when I was looking for an out of print DVD. I landed on their product page for the DVD and it looked like the full retail official DVD. Not so - the DVD was an unlabeled copy. I contacted the company and they asked me to return the DVDs. They did not send me a prepaid return label but told me they would reimburse me for the return shipping. I sent the DVDs back to them and they issued credit for the purchase but didn't refund my postage and didn't respond to my emails requesting reimbursement. Rude and dishonest."

"I so wish I could give this company minus 10 stars. They have messed up shipping so many times it's not funny. They never knock, they just leave stuff on my uncovered porch even in the rain. That's when they actually make the delivery. Their new hires are untrained and can't find addresses. One of their delivery men forged my signature and marked the item delivered when he couldn't find my house. They've delivered to the wrong house. I can't tell you how many times the driver has marked a package as delivered when it hasn't been, and then there's a huge mess, sometimes taking weeks to sort out, before the merchant either refunds my money or ships the item again. These are the worst ever. There are some merchants who only ship Fedex so I can't avoid them, but oh boy, I'm sorry every time they're involved. They are just awful."

"These guys have consistently the best prices and amazing service. Shipping is fast and free. And recently I received a defective computer - they sent a prepaid return label and issued a refund promptly. Great service all the way around."

"This store specializes in plus-sized women's clothing. I would never shop there if I could wear regular sizes. My two biggest complaints about this shop is that they charge a lot for shipping and their website photos and descriptions are almost never accurate. The colors are way off, and the photos are doctored. I almost never receive items that look like the photos. If you need to shop at this store, find a 'free shipping and free returns' coupon. That way you can return all the disappointments that look nowhere like the photos without it costing you a dime. I rated this store 'very high priced' because their stuff is overpriced for what you get."

"This company manufactures IRIS pens and software for OCR. Their main office is in Belgium, and perhaps my issues with them are not issues at all but simply a cultural difference. In any case, I wanted to try their OCR software ' ReadIris Pro for Mac'. Their site has a large 'try it free' button. Only you can't try it free, you have to buy it with a 30-day money back guarantee. Ok, I don't like the mild deception, but I wanted to try it enough that I went through the purchase process. The software flat out didn't work. It ran without crashing but returned gibberish when I tried to use the OCR feature. There is NO live customer or tech support. There is an office in Florida, with a phone number, but I was never able to reach a person, just voice mail. I never received a response to my messages. In any case, to receive a refund I had to fill in a Letter of Destruction stating I would destroy the software. Done. It took over 2 weeks for them to acknowledge receiving that letter/request for refund -- there wasn't even an automailer confirming my email. I just received that confirmation 'credit note' today, with the message that it will take another '5-10 open days' (I suppose that means business days) for the credit to be issued. So, they're a legitimate business and hopefully I will get a refund, but they are far from customer-friendly."

"This company makes luggage that is back-friendly and collapses to fit flat on a shelf. I love the design of the luggage but the warranty and service could be better. The luggage is a little delicate and their 1-year warranty does not include shipping costs. You have to ship the bag to their factory in San Francisco at your expense, they repair it and return it. I had problems with my bag from when the day I purchased it - one of the hinges didn't fully close. It was too expensive to send back for repair so I lived with it. It still stayed pretty flat on the shelf. Then on a recent trip, one of the hinges broke completely. Time to send the bag in. When it came back, they had repaired the fully broken hinge but did nothing more. They hadn't oiled the wheels (they squeaked) or in my opinion done a good job of looking over the bag for problems. I mentioned the other hinge - the one that never fully closed - it would have been nice to have that fixed, but they didn't consider it a problem so they didn't fix it. They are ok, I guess, but don't expect them to go the extra quarter inch to take care of you. There's another company - Lipault - that makes foldable luggage. Their luggage looks beautiful, it has a 3 year warranty and pays shipping both ways for covered repairs. Their 26" suitcase weighs 6 lbs vs Tutto's 11.3 lbs. When it's time for new luggage I will try that."

"I've bought several times a year from Expercom since 2004 and they are terrific. They have great, responsive customer service. It's always easy to get a live person on the phone and their staff is highly knowledgeable, courteous and patient. Their prices are excellent, they ship promptly - they're just great. A big plus - this is the only mail order reseller I know of who sells built to order Macs, same as you would get from the Apple store. You get a discount, and no tax. Pretty nifty."

"I ordered a Power Support screen protector for my iPhone and received shipping notification that the product was being shipped from China. I was concerned because I want the authentic Power Support product, not a knockoff. I contacted SaveTheWallet Customer Service and got this reply: "This product is made in Japan and comes in different versions for different regions in the world. We get the product from China and it's the Chinese version packaging, which is the same as the US packaging just with Chinese and English writing." I contacted Power Support and they said their product is produced in Japan and if it comes from China it is not their product at all. I cancelled my order."

"My order took a long time to come. The product was terrible, a cleaning compound that stank to high heaven and left little crumbly bits all over the place. It just cost $2.xx, not worth the time to try for a refund, so I can't comment on their customer service. However, I left a product review of 1 stars which they published as 4 stars, so I wonder about their honesty."
