"four business days after submitting order, i still have no tracking. nor do i have any other sign of life from this company, save for them charging my card. it seems they do not return email, not even after having called them up and requesting that they do so! from their home page, ironically: "...the reason our customers partner with us year after year is our rock-solid reputation ... for ... responsiveness..." ::)"

"upon receiving my order, i realized that i had ordered the wrong mobo, and therefore, memory. vendor refused to refund for the memory (minus restocking fee for my error) despite the fact it was still factory sealed and only in my possession for a day or two. eventually, they relented on their position. however, they never followed through with the refund. so, after ignoring me for a while, i filed (and won) a dispute with the bank on the transaction. vendor has been sent a link to this review for comment. review will be updated should they decide to make amends. ive placed 18 orders with this vendor over the past few years. usually, things go very smoothly. but when they do not, vendor cannot be counted on to respond or act on a timely basis, if at all."

"re order 78254294 BEWARE of the domain privacy scam. this is the "service" that lets u conceal ur whois info. the problem lies in that if u lose access to the email address u provided for the whois, ur screwed in being able to update key aspects of the domain, transfer it to another registrar, or even remove the privacy "service" altogether. u either have to keep renewing the domain with the extra fee for the privacy "service" when its no longer needed, or u have to let the domain expire and hope u can grab it up again. the whois privacy "service", along with godaddy's refusal to let me out of it, is nothing more than a shake down."

"cart software on their site is rudimentary. that is, it doesnt calculate shipping cost. instead, u have the option of accepting w/e the charge may be, or stalling the order once its ready to ship so that they can inform u of the shipping cost and get ur consent. ive chosen to automatically accept the shipping charges and have found them to be spot-on for their weight - no gouging. tracking automatically emailed. most every leviton brand item i ordered had to be ordered from the mfg, shipped to the vendor, then re-shipped to me, adding a couple days longer than would normally be required from such a prompt vendor. having said that, 7 days from order to my door (half-way around the US) via ground isnt that bad. customer service: no hold time; friendly, english speaking reps. they ought to advertise more on sites such as these since they had rock bottom prices on everything leviton that i needed for my project."

"order shipped and tracking was provided the same day as the order was placed. ground shipping (3lb @ $11 for 2 items) got it to me in missouri in 3 days."

"ordered: 3 bulk spools of cat5e cable ($288), labeler ($40), labeler tape ($16), cable tester ($637). all items confirmed in-stock at time of order. order placed 12/13/07 (day 1). day 3: cable tester received. however, it was not new. vendor notified immediately to send replacement. also, started getting spammed by vendor. vendor notified to cease spamming immediately. day 4: spools of cable received, roughed up badly in transit due to poor packaging. day 5: tracking info for labeler requested. day 7: tracking info for labeler requested again due to never receiving a response to first request. item suddenly on backorder (despite confirming its stock status at time of order). no response as to why i was told item was in-stock OR why i was never notified of the backorder. order canceled. tracking info also requested for replacement cable tester. day 9: cable tester returned after receiving shipping label from vendor almost 2 weeks after they were notified. day 10: more spam from vendor despite being warned to stop earlier. day 11: since i received no response to my first request, vendor was contacted again for tracking info of replacement scanner only to find out item was on back order. no explanation offered as to why i was not notified. order canceled, immediate refund requested. day 13: spammed again despite two previous warnings. day 15: contacted vendor to check on status of refund. none had been issued. was promised that it would be processed THAT day. day 16: still no refund. again promised that it would be done THAT day. but was advised it could take an additional 14 days. vendor refused to issue a money order/cashiers check for an expedited refund. dispute filed with bank. day 17: refund finally issued. maybe the bank dispute spurred action on their part...or maybe it was coincidence? due to this incident, and yet another the last time i used the vendor (early 2006), this will be my last experience with provantage. they used to be great, but can no longer be considered reliable, forthright or responsive, imho. :( thanks to shopblt.com and newegg.com for bailing me out of the mess provantage left me with."

"vendor failed to honor the second of two credits i was promised for multiple reviews, thereby overcharging me. they were looking into it and supposed to get back to me on it. they never have. mobo contained in the order ran for about 10 minutes before dying (not necessarily the vendor's fault, mind u). but vendor will not cross ship a replacement. instead they want me to buy another one, then refund me when the dead one arrives. having already paid for a working mobo and receiving a dead one instead, i suggested they send me a new one and charge me if they do not get the dead one within a reasonable period of time. offer rejected because they fear i might screw them by closing my bank account before they could charge me. seeing that IM the one thats been screwed so far, i found this assertion to be insulting. result of their inane return policy: if i have to BUY another mobo, it wont be from them. way to turn lemonade into lemons, fellas. ::) UPDATE: vendor phoned to say they will be adding a credit to my account greater than the one they failed to honor earlier AND that they would cross-ship a replacement mobo w/o charging me. too late for the cross-ship news as ive already bought a replacement elsewhere, but the credit is welcomed. this situation certainly could have been handled better to begin with but it will not deter me from using them in the future, based on my previous business with them."

"overcharged by $5. 2 (business) days later, called in for tracking to find that the item was out of stock - order canceled. had i not called, im not sure when i would have found out. not sure why i was charged for something they couldnt ship - no explanation offered. took 5 requests to get an invoice that matched the amount i was charged, rather than the amount i *should* have been charged. sent several email messages, NONE of which has ever been answered. average hold time for the 3 or 4 times i called: 15+ minutes. despite twice requesting it, no customer service credit has been offered. 7 (business) days later, i still have no refund for the canceled order - bank dispute filed today. ive used this vendor 4 times. first 3 times went off without a hitch. but when theres a problem, theres a problem."

"ordered on LATE afternoon of day 1. shipped (ground) on day 3. could have shipped a little sooner, but hard to complain since delivery occurred on day 5. received courtesy call in afternoon of day 2. i found this most impressive, as i have never received such a call in my nearly 10 years of IT reseller purchasing. perhaps vendor is trying to make a statement on commitment to customer service? im always looking for quality vendors to handle large portions of my purchasing business. given the impression made by the courtesy call, i will CERTAINLY be looking to use this vendor again to see how they pan out."

"aborted order after realizing in the checkout process that vendor adds a "handling" charge that was about 20% of my order total. kinda stinks of bait&switch, imho. contacted merchant to complain. handling charge would stick, but got them to admit they should be more up front with it. meh."

"attempt#1, order#519828711, 6/21/04 days after $2000+ order, i found out (after *i* called) that items shown as "in stock" were indeed on backorder. however, this did not stop vendor from immediately billing me. order was promptly canceled, but the refund was $160.82 short. weeks later, a dispute had to be filed with my bank in order to get my money back. attempt#2, order#594504220, 11/2/06 received approx $1000 ip camera, dead-on-arrival. despite my card number being on file, vendor refused to ship replacement until DOA unit was received. refund or re-purchasing another unit were only options available. given past history with vendor, i was reluctant to 'loan' them another $1000. so i opted for the refund option and placed my new order with another vendor. a week later, vendor refuses to grant ANY refund citing a missing free software disc in my return. so another dispute is filed with my bank. one month after, vendor relents and issues a refund, short $139.50. dispute was updated to reflect the new amount."

"product ordered could have used a more detailed description in order to avert the incompatibility issue that followed delivery. but vendor could not have made the return process easier. heh, i didnt even have to send the approx $20 product back for refund. instead, i was simply told to keep it, along with the forthcoming refund."
