"Do not do business with this company. They are thieves who engage in dishonest, deceptive and fraudulent merchandising. My wife ordered a trial sample from them which was supposed to cost $4.95. They shipped the sample and then charged our checking account for $79.53. I was able to get the phone number from the charge information and after a long and convoluted run-around the customer service person offered to refund $59.53. Figuring getting a better deal wouldn't be worth the heartburn I accepted. We got an immediate confirmation email. Guess I'm supposed to be grateful that they only stole $15 from us instead of $75. Hmmph."
"Update: I have sent these people 3 e-mails through their web form and one other. I tried to call the sales number and could only get voice mail: left message. Still have had zero response from these crooks. They charged my card on 8-20-03 and I've heard nothing else from them since. Ordered Nero6 x 2 and one other title. I've turned it over to MasterCard for dispute. I will NEVER order from this company again. I hope they fold and lose everything."

"Over the last 9 months or so I've placed about 4 orders with NewEgg. They have never failed to surpass every expectation. Today is Sunday, and I placed an order for all the components of a new system on Wednesday evening. I received the first of 3 shipments on Friday morning and a quick check of the tracking numbers shows that I will get the other two on Monday morning. That is with regular FedEx saver shipment and that is service! Their prices are always great and availability is clearly stated. I haven't needed to RMA anything which speaks to the quality of their products as well as the care they take in packaging. This is my primary supplier of tech equipment and if I could only have one, this would be it. Thanks, NewEgg."

"I have placed six orders with Computer Geeks over the last year and a half or so and been very pleased overall. I have gotten some very good buys including a Geforce 3 Ti500 card for $97 and three 45GB hard drives for $56 each. Compgeeks shipping seems to take a little longer than some of the other companies I deal with, but the price more than compensates. I have only had to RMA one item. I ordered three 45gb Western Digital hard drives and one of them failed catastrophically withing the 90 day warranty period. I ran the Western Digital diagnostics and sent the results to CompGeeks. I received an RMA quickly and with no difficulty and shipped the drive back to them. After a few days with no word from them I checked my account and found a credit for the returned drive. I e-mailed customer support and was told that this credit was there to cover the replacement drive when they found it. I waited another week or so and e-mailed customer service again. This time I was told that there was no replacement to be found and that they would upgrade me to a 60gb drive if I would pay $10 difference. I agreed to this. After another week or so with no word I e-mailed them again for status and was told that there would be no replacement and that the credit was converted to a store credit that I could use by inserting my RMA number into the order comments. I ordered an 80gb drive and using the credit. The charges to my card were correct, but at no time in the process did I ever see my credit on paper, including the final invoice from Compgeeks. Compgeeks handled my RMA in accordance with their posted guidelines, but I believe they could do better at providing information to the customer and everybody in customer service needs to get on the same page. I like this company and will continue to do business with them. My best advice for shopping online is research, research, research. Know exactly what you are buying and don't assume anything. Resellers like to put the best face on anything the sell, so if a feature isn't listed it probably isn't there."
