"Order was placed 01/11/2009.
3 days later wrote and asked for shipping confirmation with no response.
2 days later tried to get into their website and website wasn't functional. So replied from confirmation e-mail and still no response.
On 01/20/08 when I should have received my product I get an e-mail saying, "We apologize to inform you that we could not process your order # 10737 due to items are out of stock for the moment. So we will go ahead cancel your order. If you have any further questions please contact us right away. Have a nice day!"
What took them so long to realize this?
They even charged me for the product. I getter get a refund ASAP and don't plan on shopping with CompCDR.com or Yesbuy.net again!"

"I am a member of Columbia House and have been for a few years now. This is my second or third time around. Meaning I have agreed to purchasing more DVD's in the future by a certain date and when I meet that my membership is canceled. So then I would order another bunch of DVD's for free and sign another agreement.
Looking at other reviews I would say Columbia House is "okay". If you love to buy a lot of movies, don't mind waiting to receive them, don't mind waiting for good deals or don't mind paying about $3.00 for shipping, don't mind accidently getting a dvd in the mail to return later because they didn't send you the e-mail for your directors selection, don't mind seeing a sale price on the internet thinking that you will order it to fulfill your membership requirements to realize you have to pay $10.00 more to have it count toward your commitment then Columbia House will work for you.
The people who have no trouble with them probably haven't had to contact them regarding an issue because the phone doesn't get picked up on the first ring if you know what I mean. Or don't mind paying $22.95 for a DVD to help fulfill their membership commitment.
Here are a few of the negative things that I have experienced.
Since I have been a member more than once and my account number changes I have had to request my sign-in name on the website and password because I lose track of it. The last time this happened they sent me a password, but it was actually the wrong password. I tried to sign in my account to order some DVD's, but couldn't without my password. When I requested my password, I was sent the wrong password. When I tried to contact customer service, good luck finding a phone number!!!!! I ended up e-mailing them for my password and they reset it, but it took 2 days!
I am set up to receive my Director's Selections though e-mail notifications. These come monthly. A couple of times I didn't get the e-mail and they would send me the director's selection. I would mark "Cancel" on the unopened box and put it back in my mailbox which would return it to them and they have always credited my account. Another time I signed into my account to verify my e-mail address and they had it listed as "****@****". Come on, no one owns that e-mail address and I sure didn't put it there so I changed it back and so far I have been receiving my e-mailed directors selections to cancel. I just wish someone who cares would contact me from Columbia House and offer me something for both sending me the wrong password and allowing me to get that excellent deal that was running 3 weeks ago with free shipping when you buy 3 and buy 1 DVD get 2nd Free."
"I have been ordering from Buy.com for many years and normally have no trouble at all but lately it's been horrible. I will think twice about ordering from them in the future because this is the second time I have received a product that isn't exactly what was displayed on the website. I ordered a Saitek Rumble Force gamepad and it says that it is wireless, but when I received the product it clearely has a long wire that is used to connect to the PC. I wrote them and it's been over 10 days! I did get the e-mail that Customer Support has received my e-mail and I should wait a couple of hours up to 10 hours, but maybe up to two business days, but like I said it's now been 10 days. I sent another e-mail today and will update the status on ResellerRatings.com when I (if I) hear back from them. My message for Buy.com and new CEO Neel Grover is to change your new business practices because they suck and I won't shop a website where they don't take the time to verify what is written about the product. Displaying something incorrectly on the website is unethical, but doing it over and over again is illegal and Buy.com should be punished for it."
"05/09/2008
I was in the market for a large mixing paddle and Wares Direct seemed to have the best price for the item, which including shipping and handling. While reviewing their site I also picked up a 4 quart measuring cup. I placed my order and it was verified the same day. At this time both items were supposedly in stock and the order would be shipped out within a day or two. (So far so good)
In less than one week I received my 4 quart measuring cup, but my mixing paddle wasn’t in the box. After looking over the packing list I noticed that the Mixing Paddle was on B.O., which I’m assuming means back order. This is very upsetting because the packing list was printed on 05/09/2008 which is one day after my “in stock” item was ordered. They should have informed me that the item I was waiting for was on back order and it wouldn’t be arriving with my shipment.
05/15/2008
On this date I called Wares Direct (This is a plus to have a phone number to call when they don’t respond 1/2 the time to e-mails) and asked about the status on my back ordered item and why I wasn’t notified that the item wasn’t in stock when I purchased it? The woman on the phone told me that an e-mail should have been sent out stating that the mixing paddle was on back order. I told her I didn’t receive that e-mail, but did receive an e-mail stating that my order was processed (which included the fact that both items were in stock) so there is no way the e-mail was blocked when I received the other e-mails about processing my order.
She said the item was back ordered until the end of the month. I told her this is very upsetting because I needed the mixing paddle last week when my order arrived. I told her I can’t wait that long and if Wares Direct’s inventory was accurate and Wares Direct didn’t mislead customers that items are being shipped because they are stated as being in stock I wouldn’t have placed my order with Wares Direct in the first place. I told her to cancel my order because I will have to order it from somewhere else and pay extra for an overnight delivery!
05/19/2008
I received an e-mail from Wares Direct (Cathy) that they are processing my order because it arrived in stock. I let her know that my order was canceled a week ago so she should stop the order and not to charge my card. I asked her why I even received this e-mail because my order was canceled a week ago. She didn’t have a good answer for that. (Later I reviewed my credit card statement and on 05/10/2008 they charged the full amount to my card when 1/2 the order wasn’t even shipped out!)
She e-mailed me back saying that they have received my request to cancel the back ordered item and will forward my request to the accounting department for a refund. And that I would hear from them soon.
05/27/2008
I e-mailed Cathy again for status on the refund to my card because the accounting department didn’t contact me or reverse the credit card charges.
05/30/2008
I called Wares Direct and spoke with Kim to get my credit for my item that was never shipped out. I told her how upset I was about the whole thing and that it’s misleading to charge someone and pretend an item is in stock when you really don’t have it. She said she would forward that on to the returns department and I would receive a credit within a week for my item. I asked about the shipping of the item and she said I wouldn’t get that back! (Like that makes any sense, charge me for an item that isn’t in stock, credit me almost a month later, and don’t refund my shipping or for that matter even offer a shipping credit for lousy misleading service!)
I will never buy from Wares Direct again."
"Below is a timeline of my order. The issue is getting an e-mail saying that my order has been shipped, then 8 days later getting another e-mail that my order is backordered! That is not good service.
5/8/2008 2:44:00 PM: Ordered Radical Brewing with 3-5 business days shipping. Item was in stock at time of order.
5/9/2008 E-mail that seller is being contacted to confirm order. The book was ordered through buy.com
5/11/2008 E-mail that the following items on your Buy.com Marketplace order have shipped! The seller, a1books has confirmed the shipment was sent on Sunday, May 11, 2008. You have selected Standard shipping and should receive
your item(s) in 4 to 14 business days.
5/19/2008 E-mail from A1 that order has been delayed because they ran out of stock on the item ordered.
6/03/2008 I wrote A1 Books an e-mail through their website (no phone number to call) asking for a free shipping coupon or percent off coupon if I decided to try them out a second time.
6/04/2008 I received an e-mail back from A1 Books stating things about shipped using Standard Ground Shipping.
Did they even read my e-mail? I'm not complaining about the shipping. The shipping is fine. I'm complaining about the not just misleading e-mails, but the obviously false e-mails that were sent to me stating that an item as has been shipped when it hasn't. And that it took them another 8 days to send me a second e-mail stating that my item is backordered."
"I have been shopping from the newegg.com site for over 5 years now and yesterday I realized that I haven't written any reviews for them. Yesterday before I placed my latest order I tried the online chat with a member of the support staff because the item I wanted to buy went up $10.00 from the previous day. Most people would ignore a $10.00 difference on a $280.00 item, but for me it makes all the difference in the world. I asked the support person to check the price of the item from the previous day, and without another word he did and got back to me within a couple of seconds. I asked if there was any way he could give me the price from the previous day and he took the time to ask his supervisor and they decided they would give me that lower price. This was really great and showed that they cared even though it was only going to save me $10.00.
But of course there are many other reasons I shop at newegg.com. The prices are unbeatable, the shipping is cheaper than other sites (if not free), and I always get what I ordered within 3 days without paying extra for shipping costs. Not only that but their technique for inventory is top notch because during the 5 years that I have been buying from them not once was an item out of stock after I placed my order.
Thank you newegg.com
I look forward to the next time I need computer supplies or electronics."
