"I'm rating the quality of the sales/ordering process, since I decided not to place an order. The salesman, James, promised to call me back to discuss my email sales quote. He informed me that the prices on the website are not "in real time" and therefore change all the time; I can only place the order with a representative to get an actual price. He called 3 times to say that he still diidn't have time to review my order, even though I told him I needed to place the order today. I waited around for 3 hours, then he finally told me that they were closing for the day and he didn't have time to complete the order. This was a most frustrating and shady experience. What business quotes prices on their website that are not accurate at the time you place an order? BEWARE! I think that many of the negative reviews for this company may have been deleted because no order has actually been placed (per guidelines on site). I strongly advise you to avoid this company because of the "bait and switch" sales tactics."

"Company is out of stock on several components and cannot honor shipping date, or even close. Don't bother ordering from this company. You'll wait forever. They cannot even give me an estimated new shipping date now, even though they have charged my credit card. I've cancelled my order."
"The MM website and a phone rep both told me that my IPOD order would be shipped the same day I placed the order. I placed it online on Thursday morning. I checked Thursday night, but no shipping info. On Friday afternoon, more than 24 hours later, I got a call from MM saying that they needed to confirm my credit card phone number and my secuirty code (this was bogus because I had already give them this info online). I asked them why the order was being delayed one day, and they said they didn't know but assured me it would go out Friday night. In a few hours, the MM website said that my order had been shipped and they supplied a tracking number.
When I checked the UPS tracking status, UPS had no record of it. I called MacMall on Monday and asked what had happened. They told me that it had definitely shipped on Friday, but that UPS was delayed in updating their system. I asked the rep to get the UPS rep on the phone so we could clear up what had happened. UPS said that the package had not been shipped until late Monday afternoon, not on Friday. The MacMall rep tried to make an excuse, and the UPS rep told him he was wrong. The order was shipped on Monday, not Friday.
I'll let you know what happens, but this kind of misrepresentation and outright lying is disturbing.
I've never had this problem with Amazon.com or NewEgg. I highly recommend them and will avoid MacMall in the future, even if the price is a few dollars cheaper. I recommend that you do the same."
