"Ordered an "in-stock" item from this website. It's two weeks later and I still have no information. I finally got them to respond to ONE of my emails, and I got back a useless generic response about how I'll be notified when my order ships. No phone number, essentially no response to emails. STAY AWAY from this company."
"Boo-urns!
I needed an item fast, so I found these guys on froogle and paid extra for FedEx express 2-day. The item was listed as in-stock.
The next day I called to find out why my item hadn't shipped. The guy apologized, and said "it will ship today." I said, "are you sure it's going to ship today?" The response was something like, "ummm, I'll have to call you back."
At this point it was too late anyhow, so I went to their website to cancel my order- and the cancel button doesn't work!!
By the end of the day of course they hadn't called me back. I called again (long distance). It took them a while to figure it out, but apparently they never had the item and it was not going to be back in for TWO WEEKS.
To their credit I'll say they were polite on the phone. Aside from that, I saw no sign of competence along any step of the way."
"<b>BEWARE!!!</b>
eCost lies about shipping times on purpose. They have a lot of incredible deals, mostly things that are free after a rebate. Well, if you read the rebate, the form (with the UPC code) must be submitted within 14 days of the purchase date. eCost tells you it's in stock when you order, then all your items myteriously get backordered for two weeks, so it's IMPOSSIBLE for you to turn in the rebate form!
STAY AWAY from this merchant if you want your order to arrive within the next three weeks."
"These people are criminals, period. No amount of saved money is worth what you have to go through when dealing with them.
I ordered 10 pieces of PC2100 registered ECC memory with Lifetime Warranty, as found on pricewatch.com. The first shipment they sent me was PC133 memory, which went back.
Several weeks later I got another package. Memory packing was absolutely horrible- all they did was put each in static bags, put a rubber band around them, and put them in a FedEx envelope. And then I opened the bags up. The modules were still wet with citrus degreaser where the labels from each module had obviously been removed. The package contained about 8 different types of memory. Anyone who knows anything about memory will tell you that you HAVE to used matched pairs with registered ECC memory. So, a bunch of it went back.
TWO MONTHS after the initial order I finally had usable memory. Then, I requested documentation of the warranty, and they told me there's no warranty at all! I have the printout from pricewatch that says LIFETIME WARRANTY.
I don't know how these people sleep at night."

"First of all, these people can't speak English, so trying to talk to them on the phone is next to impossible. I had to call three different times to finally find someone who could figure out what was happening with my order, and then finally figured out that it hadn't been sent because they wanted to charge me shipping on an item listed as "free shipping." Idiots."
"These people play the usual game where they tell you an item is in stock, and then after you have paid for it, tell you that it is really not. They do not answer their phones or email. BEWARE!"
