"I felt compelled to write a review here because of all the current rating of this store and the contrast with my own personal experience. This spring I decided to get back into hiking and my gear needed some serious upgrade. So searching online, I find campsaver has some nice gear and often at a better price than the competition. It looks like a serious enough site, but reseller ratings has them at a score of under 5 out of 10. Not good. For the most part though, the negative reviews seem to revolve about misunderstandings or different expectations. So I go ahead and take a chance with them. After completing the order, I felt a little paranoid and started thinking that maybe the store is not legit or maybe they will pull a switch and bait scam on me or...after all they don't even score 5/10 at reseller ratings.
Anyways, I received my gear no problem in about a week 10 days, got a tracking number for my order even talked to customer service. Ended up buying lots of stuff from them (6 orders over the course of a month) and received everything within the expected delivery period. I did have one problem with one of my orders - I had ordered a pair of hiking boots that came with a complimentary pair of socks, but I was informed that the socks were back order and they gave me a 10% discount for my next order instead. Not the way I would've done it, but in the grand scheme of things, an irritant not a show stopper. I did not try their fast shipping options, I always used the free shipping option so I can't comment on that.
So the point of this comment is to let people know that from repeated orders from this seller, I have received all my gear and the online experience is similar to other major retailers (you can see all you orders, track them, etc.). Bottom line, the store is legit and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again."
"I bought an unlocked cell phone from them which suddenly stopped working after 10 months. I wrote to their customer service and sent a short video demonstrating the problem. They responded quickly instructing me send the phone back and I would be refunded after they received it and confirmed the problem. I sent the package back using the cheapest method of transportation I could find figuring, I already spent enough on this and they being on the other side of the planet (I'm from Canada) I may never see a refund anyways. Well they held true to their word, and I was refunded when my package made it back, 2 months later. When buying from far away, it's reassuring to know that they are there also when things go wrong."
