"I have been a loyal customer of Newegg.com for many years. Almost everytime (in fact everytime) I buy computer stuff, they are in my places to check compare, and read...
I buy almost al my computer stuff there, except when of course I get a better deal elsewhere, and there have been time I payed a little more because Newegg has the best online service.
That being said, the reviews are highly censored, and I can only guess or ponder why the reviews disappear, very fast.
My latest example.
it was time for a completely new computer build. I higher end computer for gaming. I bought an HAF 922 pc case (among al the software and hardware.. I got two rebates, first one was instant. Second one is mail in.
Since I purchased the stuff on Saturday and Sunday, I had to wait until the next day Monday to send in all that crazy amount of paperwork, upc cut out of boxes, long exhausting insane rules... Two weeks later my rebate (envelope I mailed) for the CoolerMaster HAF 922 case is returned. The post office puts white taper over their address so I cannot fully read it, but it was all correct. I had placed two 'forever' postage stamps on the envelope, and even had my wife check to make sure two stamps was enough, she said yes' so at least I got a second opinion. I called CoolerMaster and they said, that is the correct address, and I said I guess they want more postage on a letter envelope with 2 pieces of paper and the upc code they make you cut off the box. I placed '4' US mail 'forever' postage stamps this time.
In the NewEegg.com review I said, something to the effect, good case, looks good works good. MY cons: Coolermaster rejected my mail envelope.
Newegg.com removed my post almost immediately! I have read maybe hundreds or thousands of reviews that were pretty nasty,,, and they were not messed with. Ther eis no where and no way you can talk with Newegg to see what bothers them, they are arbitrary and secretive about how feedback works. Who and why and what during posting. They don't have rules, they use moods,, maybe they had a bad day and take it out on a review? You said some magic secret word, and Groucho Marx and his bird are going top popup with the question for the magic word? (for you youngsters, he had a game show with a (fake?) bird, on a pirch that would be lowered when someone said a magic word, totally unexpected, of course.
I have had a couple of my posts over the years censored, nothing bad, just thing like a little problem with an install, or a few weeks ago I bought Windows 8 and the next day they put a big sale up for the same thing I bought, had I waited one day I could have saved at least $40.00 and thought that wasn't nice to have the sale the next day, and not let anyone know. That's about it for my huge infractions. For someone who has spent 12 years buying computer stuff from there.
There are times I feel like saying I will not buy from there for a while if they are going to punish me for unknown offenses. It is like you are a child and they stand you in a corner to mess with you if you say the magic secret word. Then never tell you what the heck is going on.
The fault which bothers most people is discounts, rebates, the rebates processes are still stoneage, and there are some places who have finally woken up and actually made rebates easier, through online rebates processes, instead of trying to fill envelopes with tons of stuff top meet some wacky checklist. The worst rebate experience had to be Tiger Direct, but that was a nightmare that happened about 10 years ago. The process is almost like you are a criminal trying to prove you are innocent to get your rebate. Sometimes you do $30.00 worth of work to get $10.00 This last go-round I put '4 us mail 'forever stamps' on the envelope, with the old envelope inside still with the first time when I only put 2 stamps on it that was returned.
If Newegg would stop playing 'don't write the secret word', I would have added the last star.
IMHO
btw, is leaving a review and them removing it, count as interacting with customer service? If so, then change my thing below from n/a to one star. It is my turn to play 'don't say the secret word'...
update, sorry about spelling mistakes,, but my hands shake... bad health..."
"I sent my rebate in in June 2011. It was received and processed, and it said it was approved. I never received my rebate. it was for the puchase of a video card from Tiger Dircet. it was a PNY video card. Rebate $30.00. I am sick of waiting , even after contacting them asking for my rebate. I am contacting the California attorney general. The rebate place doe snot make it easyt o contact them, every search bring up worthless info."

Seller say will send tomorrow. I say get it here friday or send money my back , I paid by Visa. He says will send 2nd day air DHL Shipping. I say ok. 03-04-05 Tracking says is at DHL location, 3 miles from my house. I call and they tell me I cannot pick it up, I must wait till monday 03-07-05 for delivery. Never ever use this seller, ever again! negative is too nice ! DHL blows huge chunks! I had to go through hell just calling DHL, they have no local phone number, you must go through an 800 number and they do all the talking, they refuse to give out phone numbers and al your messages are passed on. You cannot pick up packages, as I was even told they lock up all the packages ina cage and you cannot pick the package up and must wait till delivery. FARCE!
