"Amazon.com is simply the best. They ship quickly. I have spent thousands of dollars with this company over the last few years. I have purchased books, camera equipment, toys, clothing, DVD's, CD's, cosmetics, and most recently grocery items. I have on occasion, had a few problems with orders that were damaged in transit and Amazon's customer service remedies the problem by sending a replacment ASAP and providing a shipping label for me to use to ship back the damaged goods. Pretty darn easy huh?
I purchased online A LOT, several times a week sometimes and the bottom line is that I have NEVER experienced any headaches like my horrible experiences with other online retailers.
Try asking Buy.com to ship out a replacement for a damaged item. It will take three weeks, not good if you are dealing with a gift item.
Anyway, kudos to Amazon. A big big, company with excellent customer support. I just signed up for Amazon Prime which I love!!!!!!"
"What a mess.
Placed an order on January 16th. Received email confirmation with order number. Received shipment notification as well. Used Google Checkout so I also have that receipt. So, I have three email confirmations of my order.
Nothing arrived so I checked their tracking system 9 days later only to discover that I couldn't track the item. I emailed customer service asking them to track my order for me. NO REPLY two days later, except I then get an e-mail notifying me that my order has been cancelled and my credit card refund processed. WHAT??? This is interesting since the item is clearly in stock.
Called customer service who tells me that my order was basically screwed up. No explanation, just screwed up. She advises me to re-place the order online and offers to assist me with.
I really don't think I like having to babysit my order like this and especially don't like that I never got an e-mail reply and had to pick up the phone to get help. I will say that the customer service rep was nice and attempted to be helpful, but I'm taking my future business elsewhere.
Update: What payment issue? My credit card was successfully charged via Google checkout. Additionally, you credited my card and emailed me that I had asked to cancel the order, which is not true. Please note that the customer service rep did not have access to the emails that I received and I in fact had to forward them to her. So, SuperMediaStore did successfully charge my credit card and when I inquired as to the whereabouts of my order I did not get a reply, instead I got a refund."
