Shipping Frustraton

"Ordered two lamps on April 22 ... one arrived; one did not (a Stiffel product). Three different contacts at 1STOPLIGHTING over the last three weeks gave me 3 different answers as to why my lamp has not shipped and seems to be in "limbo" almost a month after I ordered it. Frustrating. And I'm already paying extra for shipping to Hawaii ... cannot call them on their one week shipping refund (25%) either, as it does not apply to Hawaii orders. This will definitely affect whether I order from them in the future for my other properties."

"Try to return a fan directly after my order was placed. Would not take it back watch out these people they will get you any way they can. POOR, poor business ethics. This is the only review I've ever written to bad ut had to be fir this lousy company.

Very Satisfied With Product & Service!

"I read reviews after placing my order and have to admit I was a little worried. It seems 1STOPLighting either gets 1 star with complaints or 5 stars with praise. Fortunately, I am very satisfied. The product is as advertised and pictured, for the most part. The only difference is the glass was called "light amber," but the glass is neither light nor amber. It is a very dark tan but still looks nice. I placed the order late in the night on Thurs. 9/1/16. Because this was Labor Day weekend, I really did not expect to get the order in 3 days. I received my lights on Wed. 9/7/16, which was 3 business days as promised. The items were very safely packed in their boxes, and nothing was broken. One of the lights has a tiny dent in the part above where the glass screws in. Fortunately, most of that area will be facing the wall, and it is barely noticeable anyway. I do not think this tiny dent has anything to do with the packaging or shipping. (One of the current vanity lights in our custom built home has always had a tiny dent in it. Most things are not 100% perfect.) Two of the glasses have a small area of mild color variation, but these can be put to the wall side where they won't be seen. I had the order shipped to my work address, but there was no place to indicate not to deliver on the weekend, so I emailed customer service and received a quick response saying the shipping comments were updated. The price was already great before the discounts, so I have no complaint about the cost after the discounts were given. I don't know at this point if the lights actually work as we will have to wait until the contractors get to the point in the remodel where the electrician can install them. If the lights do not work, I will post an addendum. I will most definitely reorder from 1STOPLighting."

"Placed an order and thought it was pretty much guaranteed within 3 business days. Nope! They shipped something that weighed less than 1 lb and small via UPS (a waste). It's going to take over a week to get them."

"Bait and Switch company.
I purchased a light fixture from 1STOPlighting on Amazon for $100 the next day the price dropped to $72. So I tried to cancel and rebuy. 1Stop said the item was shipped and there was no way I could cancel it. So I contacted Amazon and they said my account would be credited back because they were advertising it at that price within 14 days of purchase. A few hours later 1STOP sent me an email that said there was no way the order could be canceled and I could return it for the cost of shipping. I did not want to cancel I just wanted the credit back. 30 hours later 1STOP sent me an email saying they canceled my order. They told me twice that I was not able to cancel then they raised the price to $490 and canceled my order because I asked them to price match their own price. I contacted 1STOP several times and I got the same for email 7 times in a row that my order was canceled and that if I wanted the fixture I would have to pay the current price of $490. Horrible customer service. Amazon is currently doing a investigation to what happened.

"DO NOT PURCHASE A SINGLE ITEM FROM THIS COMPANY. They are nothing but a middle man drop ship company which means they take 0 responsibility or accountability for the items they ship out. CUSTOMER SERVICE and MANAGEMENT IS A JOKE. This is a dying company so they will do every kind of sweet talking to get your business. UNAUTHORIZED DISCOUNTS AND COUPONS are usually their go to propaganda, do NOT be fooled. and god forbid you need a refund or return of any item. REFUNDS TAKE MONTHS TO PROCESS AND THEY HAVE HUNDREDS OF EXCUSES as to why the refunds takes so long to process.

SIDE TIP, ALWAYS REQUEST A REPLACEMENT for your order and keep your original order. THEY HAVE NO ABILITY TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT

"Awful! Never do business with this company! I ordered a light and after 5 weeks it still had not been shipped, so I cancelled order. Credit was to be issued within 72 hours. Never showed up! Now they say they shipped order and when I receive it I have to pay for return shipping?! Scam, YES!"

"1STOPlighting is the worst! They seem more like a scam than a legitimate business. My wife saw the product she wanted advertised through Amazon, but couldn't get the alleged 15% discount they offered. So, she tried to order directly from 1StopLighting. Big mistake! They claimed her charge information was inaccurate, so she gave it to them a second time. They didn't provide an order number or confirmation number. They didn't provide an email, which they promised. I have gone to my charge card online and found they double billed us. I called them and they said their computers weren't working and they couldn't provide any information. Call back in a couple of hours, they said. Now, a day later, they still don't have any information. The two charges still remain. They allegedly can't even confirm that my wife placed an order. This is almost exactly the same as what happened to another reviewer on this site, and may be what has happened to lots of other people who haven't written reviews here. If I don't get satisfaction today, I will dispute the charges and write to the Interstate Commerce Commission and any other federal agencies I can find. UPDATE: The second charge has dropped off my charge card account. All the rest of the information related above remains the same at the tine of this writing."

"NEVER USE 1STOPlighting
I still do not have an order # or tracking from this company..

I placed an order on 2/11/15 on the web and received a Pre Authorization thru PayPal for the transaction of $232.75...was not sent an order# or verification so 2/19/15 I went on the web asked about my order. I received an email to contact CS. I called CS 2/20/15 and was told that my card had a problem but when I said I received a preauthorization I was then told that my address was a problem because it had USA as the country?? I was also told that CS tried to contact me by phone but there was something wrong with my phone..so I had no order number; my credit card was wrong even though I received a pre authorization and my phone was not working even though I work from home and use it all of the time.
In an effort to receive my order I had CS place the order over the phone, gave them my CC info which was authorized, checked my address with them which was correct and checked my phone number with them which was also correct. again on on 2/20/15…received pre authorization from my credit card company but heard nothing from them verifying my order..called CS again on the 24th and spoke to Jeremy who said he only knew what the computer screen notes told him ..and that he saw nothing about the 2/11/15 order so the $60.00 quarantee did not apply but did have the 2/20/15 order but there must be something wrong with my e mail since I never received an oder #. I said I could send him a copy of the order verification through my CC but he just ignored my request and said again that he only knew what his screen showed him so he could not do anything.
I asked where the order was and was told it was to ship on the 25th and that I should receive the tracking in 48 hours…I am so over this order! I still have no order number and it is now the 25th and I have no tracking either. I hope my lights arrive and I will never order from this site again because they do not care at all about their customers. Jeremy especially who is one of their CS Reps acted like I did not have a right to question where my order was or if I would ever receive it. He also told me that the "One Week Guarantee For Receipt" did not apply until after my products ship!! Why would I buy from a company who doesn't quarantee shipping until they feel like sending it? Their policy says they will quarantee receipt within a week after the order is placed.
Stay clear of this company as they are without a doubt one of the worst!
Update: 2/26/15 - I was promised an immediate $60.00 refund.... Have not received it as of yet!! Still have no order # and have not received my products.
Will post as time ticks away.

"Purchased a California Umbrella from Patio Products USA, one of the 1STOPLighting.com family of stores. The umbrella description says the metal parts are stainless steel but both the section piece button and umbrella canopy insert pin began rusting after exposure to three rain events. Contacted Patio Products for assistance and waited two months for a response (they said the manufacturer was not responding to their inquiries). California Umbrella finally responded and said they would not make good on the product because, in their mind, the umbrella was exposed to a salt water environment which caused it to rust. I live 175 miles from any body of salt water so their claim is bogus. Patio Products did say they would make good on the umbrella but that was two months prior and I am still waiting for the replacement item."

"Ordered an umbrella from PatioumbrellaUSA from the manager Geoff Dawe and was billed by 1Stoplighting.
As with most of the reviews this company appears to be company that has stock and can provide good service. But when it comes down to it nothing but miss information and delays.
Ordered on June 9, 2014 for something showed in stock waited two weeks and emailed to check on status. Was told they were out of the fabric and the fabric would be in the following Monday and shipped on Tuesday. waited until the next Monday called Mr. Dawe and was put on hold so could track the shipment after 19 minutes he came back on the phone and said the shipment was lost by UPS and gave me a tracking number, even said he put a tracer on the package. I waited until the next Monday and check the tracking number and there was no such number in the UPS system so I flied a claim with AMEX and advised Mr. Dawe that I would expect a credit to my card ASAP. The only thing that was good out of this was he did provide the credit back in a timely manner.
I ordered from PatioUmbrellaUSA and was told that I would be billed under Belami Inc and was actually billed under 1stoplighting and all of my emails from Mr. Dawe came from PatioProductsUSA.

Buyer beware I have the following names that all come under the same paper work.

"Customer Service is absolutely terrible. I ordered a ceiling light from this company but failed to check the product, my fault I know. By the time our electrician is ready to install it, he discovered that one of the prongs (3 prongs to the light) is longer than the other 2. I spoke with a rep and he told me the item is beyond the 21 return day policy. I asked to speak to the manager to perhaps work out a deal to get a discount on another light, was promised a call back within a day, never heard from anyone. It'd be nice to at least call to tell me "no" instead of the silence."

"In August, 2012 I ordered five ceiling fans (Litex E-UBW48WW4C1 model) from 1stoplighting.com via their Amazon seller account, for a new house under construction. The electrician had asked for them to be on hand at that time, but it was several months later by the time he actually tried to install them. The two fans installed on flat ceilings worked OK. The three that were for sloped ceilings would not fit --- contrary to the Amazon/1stoplighting/Litex marketing description, which at that time said "sloped ceiling adaptable." (Note, the company still had not changed that statement as of May, 2013, months after I first complained.)

I do not blame Amazon. So far this is the fault of Litex, the manufacturer. But it began a saga the rest of which heavily involves 1stoplighting. The resulting chain of emails runs 15 pages, but the basics are:
1. When I called 1stoplighting in January with my electrician's statement that the fans would not install, they checked with Litex, and told me I had to order an adapter for each fan. I did so, which cost an additional $50 total.
2. The electrician then tried the adapters, and showed me that there was no way they would work with this design of fan. He concluded that the design precluded *any* adapter from working.
3. I called 1stoplighting again. They said they would check with the manufacturer again.
4. A series of emails then became necessary, to prompt any kind of action. After about two months, this finally resulted in 1stoplighting saying that Litex had issued an RMA number for return of the fans. I returned them promptly by Fedex Ground, and emailed 1stoplighting for a refund for the fans, the adapters, and the $60 shipping cost, since both the fans and the adapters were purchased based on misrepresentations.
5. I have still not received a refund, almost three months after the fans were returned. 1stoplighting has responded to a succession of emails by politely requesting (more than once) the exact same tracking numbers I had already provided.
6. I have been advised by my credit card company that the time limit for disputing a transaction is two statements. Amazon's time limit is similar. And nobody who values his or her time sues for recovery of a few hundred dollars.
7. The bottom line is, I may never get my refund, and the most I can do is warn others about dealing with 1stoplighting or Litex, at least for any product where there may be a delay before you can be absolutely sure that what you got has actually worked out.
